Seriously, best guitars ever made. To many people, especially those under the spell of loud booming bluegrass machines, the j45 doesn't stand out. You may find them dull in loud busy guitar shops or next to a canon like a hd28.But when you are alone in a quiet personal space with a J45 you realize there's no other guitar like it. And as it breaks in the tone gets better week by week. Best guitars ever.

Nothing fancy, just good ol fashion tone. Definitely is instantly recognizable. It's a new guitar, but it feels and sounds like I'm holding a piece of history. I'm definitely enjoying breaking her in. Not the loudest most robust sound, but that makes it better for recording and to sing along to. To me she sounds and plays a lot better with some regular phosphor bronze strings. Never been a fan of the strings Gibson's leave the shop with, so any time I test drove one it left me unimpressed. I've been playing for 20 some years and it took this long to finally feel like I got the right guitar! It took this long to really be able to appreciate it for all it is and isn't...There are plenty of cheaper models that a good player can make sing, but this one beckons to be ... I really like the black case as well and carrying it into a gig. I'm not sure if all new Gibson's have a fresh sweet tobacco smell when you open them up, but I like it 👍

This is my first Gibson acoustic guitar. I have owned and played Taylors and Martins in the past. But, I must say that this Gibson J-45 exceeded my expectations for a quality, great sounding guitar! This J-45 has such a sweet and balanced tone with a resonance that is very pleasing to the ear. I am now a Gibson fan forever. This guitar has a deep, rich bass with the mid-range and treble blending beautifully to create a great sound. After strumming a G chord in a quiet room you can hear the resonance last for a considerable time which indicated the solid, quality construction of this guitar. Gibson calls this their "workhorse" guitar. I agree wholeheartedly! But don't let the moniker "workhorse" lead you to believe that this is a utilitarian guitar. It's anything ... I believe that this guitar would be perfect for anything from flat-picking to fingerstyle playing. Love this guitar's sound! Sweetwater was great in promptly shipping my new guitar in perfect condition and playability. Sweetwater Sales Engineer Dave Hoffman was fantastic in assisting with my order. If you're looking for a great sounding guitar that can be your "go to" guitar then the Gibson J-45 will fit the bill IMHO!

I have the sunburst version and it looks great. They craftsmanship is superb and the electronics sound great. It stays in tune well, has a quality build and provides me with a geniune tone. The case that comes with it is well made too. I have used this in band settings, in the studio and for songwriting. If you need one guitar good enough to do all of these things and is comfortbale to hold and play, this is a great option.
I was so enamored with curiosity about this guitar when Gibson announced its birth of the new series in Bozeman. It checked all the boxes I"ve been looking for in a guitar. Body shape: I was considering a J-45 my whole life and was always drawn to them, but honestly couldn't find one that sounded good in person to me even though I always loved them on record. Color and bling: I'm definitely a looks guy, at first glance, the amazing simplicity of this guitar and it's untouchable legendary burst is world class. Engineering: Gibson just has it in spades at this point and continues to surpass pushing the envelope to create new standards in guitar construction. It took a while for them, but they finally got the recipe right. Sound: most of all, having owned all the big ... Engineering: Gibson just has it in spades at this point and continues to surpass pushing the envelope to create new standards in guitar construction. It took a while for them, but they finally got the recipe right. Sound: most of all, having owned all the big Martin and Taylor guitars multiple times and thinking each time, they would be the one, and break in, sadly to say they never did. This one exploded with chimmey tones right out of the box and was perfectly set up. Massive wins on every level. I played a few of these around L.A. and each one of them was super consistent and mind blowingly amazing. The tone of this model is what I always imagined a guitar could sound like. A conglomeration of the best elements of a Martin D-28 + Guild D-55 all mashed together to deliver what I believe to be the most superior guitar Gibson has ever made. It"s really all that and then some. As much as I have an affection for all the guitar pillars that have been around forever, I have to say that none one of them really ever satisfied me. Martins are always muddy and hard to hear note definition in the mid range. Taylor's are sweet but lack low end and can sound tiny and soulless. This J-45 addresses all those short comings and manages to excel and improve in all those areas the others struggle with. The Gibson J-45 is hands-down my favorite guitar. Did I mention I liked it?
I played multiple high end guitars at the Savannah GC and fell in love with the Gibson J-45 standard. Thank you Zac and Tray for your incredible help, understanding, and guidance in the purchase of my new guitar. The guitar is even better than I could have hoped for. Incredible sound and very easy to play. I highly recommend this guitar and the Savannah GA, GC.
When making this kind of investment you worry and you second guess yourself. I'm blown away. It's the signature Gibson J45 sound. It's what I thought it was and so much more. I play country music. Well worth the buy. I have no more worries. Gibson delivered.
The overall craftsmanship on this guitar is good. That said there is a imperfection on my guitar, more specifically the glue being observable to the naked eye, which is pretty disappointing considering the huge price it retails for. Sound is really great, no complaints here. The guitar looks and feels great, with the exception of the glue like I said. If you have the money to spend it's a great guitar, that said the price is preeety steep, so it comes to personal opinion in regards to Price/Performance. I believe you can find great guitars for half the price of this one. Still I've tested it on a lot of different tracks and genres and it is very malleable. It's a great guitar to have and I have definitely enjoy playing it!
Sound:The J45 sounds like pretty much every great recording of an acoustic guitar. Very balanced tone, warm with plenty of clarity.Features:The pickup in the guitar is decent, never been a fan of the plugged in acoustic sound, but I use it for convenience when a live acoustic is called for. Comes with a very nice case.Ease of Use:Tune it and play it. Very playable acoustic guitar, both for chord work, single note runs, or anything inbetween.Quality:Top notch quality.Value:Value is subjective, especially at this price point. At nearly $3K is this guitar 3x better than a $1K guitar? No, not from my experience. I find that the higher you go in price point on guitars, the more incremental the quality differences. However, the J45 is by far the best sounding ... MoreSound:The J45 sounds like pretty much every great recording of an acoustic guitar. On the other hand, many people comment about how good it sounds while I'm playing, that don't generally same the same about other acoustic guitars in my hands.Overall:The Gibson J45 is for me the holy grail of acoustic guitars.
Perfect tone, killer looks, what's not to like? I had a very long guitar journey looking for "the one" and I never imagined I would end up with a j45. I fiddled with them here and there but never got it. Always hyper focused on martins. But something crazy happened over night, the j45 tone just clicked and now I can't scratch the itch with anything but a j45. Do yourself a favor and get one !
