ABSOLUTLY INCREDIBLE!!! Gibson hit a massive home run with this guitar! After reading all the reviews and watching video's about this guitar, I see why everyone gives it a 5 star rating now that I have one of my own. I didn't have to do a single adjustment of any kind on this guitar when it arrived. I first looked over the entire guitar when I received it and there are no scratches, ding's, or dents. The binding is flawless around the main body. The guitar has an amazing burst on the front. The string height and neck is set perfectly. The action on the neck is very fast and smooth. No fret buzz or dead notes. The warm thick tones of the humbuckers are killer. When I plugged it in I played on the clear channel first and the tones blew me away (crisp warm tones). Gibson's have a great tone for every kind of music which is why I only play Gibson's on stage and in practice. The case it came in is top notch. It has a thick padded lining around the inside of the case for great protection. Many THANKS to my Sam Ash Sales Specialist, Steve Segal, for helping me with this sale and for answering all my questions! Bottom line: I would buy this guitar again and again and if you buy one, you won't be disappointed!!! Well worth the money! ROCK ON!!!

Bought a 60's Les Paul, had the guys take down a few of them so I could play and compare. They even offered to play some chord progressions for me and helped me decide. Was a tough decision between the bourbon burst and the iced tea. Ultimately went with the Iced Tea, just can't put your finger on it. Looks like a different guitar every time you see it in various lighting. Nice sale too, saved a few bucks on it.

Beautiful guitar but some things you should know

First of all, sorry that this is in english but maybe somebody will still find it useful. I ordered two of this exact model. I sent the first one back due to a quality issue. The first guitar was well set up, played really well, sounded great, and looked beautiful but at the top of the neck there was a very small gap between the fretboard and the neck. It was about 0,5 mm in height and about 3 cm in width on both sides of the neck. It was small but you could feel it with your hand every time you played over it. Anybody would notice it upon inspection and I am quite surprised that it got past both the Gibson quality control and the Musicstore check. This is the reason for the lower score on “Verarbeitung”. Anybody would notice it upon inspection and I am quite surprised that it got past both the Gibson quality control and the Musicstore check. This is the reason for the lower score on “Verarbeitung”. Now, was it a showstopper? For me, it was, considering the price of the instrument. For others, it may not have been and to be honest I thought long and hard before sending it back because it was otherwise a really excellent instrument and I’m sure some people may have decided to keep it. Kudos go out to the Musicstore.de for making absolutely no fuss about taking it back. I will certainly consider buying from this store again in the future. Now, to the second guitar I received: What can I say? It is a wonderful instrument that has THE sound. I usually play a Telecaster but wanted something Gibson-ish for a more humbucker-type sound. This has that sound, so if you are looking for a classic Les Paul sound, you will not be disappointed. Unlike the first guitar which seemed set up quite well by the Musicstore, the second one was not. This is not a problem for me as I am familiar with setup work but if you are not, then you may need to take the guitar to a good luthier once you receive it in order to get the most out of it. So that is something to consider when buying. Mine was pretty off and didn’t seem like anyone spent more than 3 minutes setting it up which was a bit disappointing considering that I know (based on calls to the store) that the delivery was being held back for over a week because it was waiting to be checked and set up. The truss rod had been adjusted quite right but the intonation was way off, the action was “ok”. The pickups seemed untouched and the height was off leading to an imbalanced sound. These are all minor things and it didn’t bother me because I like to set up my own guitars anyways but it should be noted that there seems to be a diffrerence in attention to detail between whoever is doing the setups at the store. That said, once set up properly, this thing is a killer! It is a tone and sustain monster! As far as workmanship goes, I can’t find any noticeable flaws. The finish is beautiful and the binding is very well done. The fretboard was extremely dry and needed to be oiled right away. This is typical Gibson and a bit annoying but also not a real issue that can’t fixed with a few drops of lemon oil and 2 mins of work. One last thing to note, the guitar is heavy. The fist one weighed 4.6 Kg and the second one weighs 4.4 Kg. That is normal for a Les Paul but you should know that in advance in case that is important to you.Reading back what I wrote above may seem negative but it is only so others know what to expect. All in all, I’m very happy with the guitar and would buy it again but for the price, I would’ve expected a bit more attention to detail.

Classic beauty
16 December 2021

To own a Gibson Les Paul Standard was a dream I had since childhood. To watch all the great artists perform on the beautifully crafted guitars was magic to all senses. Now that I can call one of those my own is a dream come true. The double AA top is amazing. I wonder what AAA must be like. Well as soon as you plug it in and feel the vibrating corpus on your chest, you know it’s yours and you won’t change it for another one. It’s all about emotion with an instrument like that. Sure, it’s an investment but you’ll always have true worth that holds for lives to come. A gem.

Dream guitar
21 June 2022

I love this guitar! It is everything I have been looking forward to. Even the unplugged sound is great. Plug into a good amp and cab, and you can play all the classics with a marvelous sound. It is flawless, and the setup was great right out of the case. Just tune and play. The neck is quite "fat", but I like that.Gibson products are not cheap, so price/performance ratio can be discussed. For me this guitar is worth the price, absolutely.Speedy and troublefree delivery by Music Store.

First guitar sent by MusicStore had an Humbucker issue
10 August 2022

I was so happy when I had the guitar but when I started playing the bridge humbucker didn't work EVEN thought it certified by it's quality from Gibson and MusicStore.Really shameful from Gibson and MusicStore but the store sent me a new one that has some finishing issues but I kept because I fell in love with it and I didn't want to go through this a 3rd time.Be aware of buying from MusicStore but bear in mind they will help you if you contact with a faulty product

Great guitar
25 January 2023

I have ebony version of 50’s standard.Guitar is immaculate, there is nothing that points to the horror stories of Gibson QC. Frets are perfectly leveled, action is very low., nut properly cut, pain and binding as it should be.Neck profile is perfect, thick but not the famous baseball bat. Not extremely thicker than the neck on my Fender AO60 Strat.Pickups are versatile and can cover a lot of genres. Maybe more Bonamassa than super high gain but still very versatile.Yes, these days they are a bit on the heavier side if comparing to the all kinds of chambered bodies Gibson used to deliver but unless it is close to boat anchor weight, which is for me 4,5kg and above it is well worth.I would buy again if the quality remains the same.

Overall, best LP standard out of Gibson compared to previous years!+ Great looking finish, couldn't find any imperfections+ Good linear response from electronics (smooth transitions in volume and tone).+ Awesome flame maple top (each one is different though, so sometimes you simply need to be lucky).+ Classic Gibson tone+ Good nut height (sometimes kept too high on purpose by Gibson, but this one is spot on)- Be prepared to do some minor (but crucial!) set-up work, even though the guitars are checked in the store. This is historically accurate, so it's not completely fair to put it as a negative... but in my opinion these are a bit harder to reach. It requires a steadier hand to not scratch the pick-ups.

No Other Place I Would Buy A Guitar
20 October 2022

I have only used Sam Ash for the last 4 years to buy anything guitar related, so when the time came to buy my first Les Paul, there was only one place I wanted to go. From the moment I expressed interest to the final purchase, it was a pleasure working with the whole team. They really cared about providing me with all of my options from Standards to Custom Shops, and really asked good questions about my playing experience, how I would use the instrument, etc. Ultimately, I found a 50's standard that I had to have! Right off the wall in the store it was set up beautifully and played great--it was clear they take really good care of these guitars. I play every day, and honestly, I can't wait to buy my next one!

The best guitar ever
21 September 2021

I finally saved money for this guitar and when I wanted to buy it, there was no available models in stock all across Netherlands. I was trying to find it everywhere and eventually I found one piece here in Music Store. i was so happy! It arrived in a good packaging by DHL. It took longer then expected (a few days longer) but in a good shape. I recorder a full unboxing just in case of any issues, but it turned out that the guitar and the suitcase are in perfect condition. no glitches, or scratches all over the guitar. The construction and the setup are as expected. The sound is also awesome and as expected from a such guitar. Overall, I am very happy with this order.
