I bought this travel router in the hopes of being able to log into a 5GHz-only wifi hotspot and taking that signal and rebroadcasting it more securely (with my own chosen SSID and password). Also I needed the rebroadcasted signal to be broadcast in both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. It works like a charm and the signal rebroadcast is quite strong, having no problem covering my entire 3 story, 2000 square foot home. It also claims to be able to accommodate up to 54 devices. Well so far I have 14 devices connected (including 2 cell phones, several IoT plugs and bulbs, and 6 security cameras) and it works like a charm.
