I went to purchase this at two separate Peter Alexander stores and employees at both told me not to bother since the wax recipe change. I ignored their recommendations and asked my boyfriend to purchase it for me for my birthday as I missed the scent too much. All of the below reviews snd that of the store assistants were true. What was once the gold standard of candles is now a pretty pathetic excuse. I have $16 candles 1/3rd of the size from an independent soy candle maker that burn longer and have more throw – sadly the scents of those candles still don’t compared to the original GH vanilla caramel. How did y’all mess this up so badly? I think that the more customers you get, the recipe needs to be changed back because all your longtime loyal customers will be gone (If not already) and you will only have people who don’t know what they are missing out on, and your price, it’s ridiculous. It’s always been steep but was absolutely happy to pay it and if the recipe never changed I would still be happy to pay higher price.Please change it back!!

I have been purchasing this candle for a long time. I recently purchased again, despite the reviews, and I am disappointed. The scent does not fill the room as it used to and the candle does not burn evenly despite trimming wicks. I have had to scoop so much wax out to prevent the candle wick from drowning which is a waste. This has also happened with my 'Sydney Sunday's' candle, so I am unsure if this is isolated to just Tahaa.
Unfortunately I had to give 'a star' because it wouldn't allow me to post this review with at least 1, yet what it deserves is to be taken off the shelf! I had waited almost 3 years for this size to come out in Tahaa, only to be extremely dissatisfied!Question for GH: why change the formula of something that had no issues to begin with? Please for the love of god start making your old formula again. The quality has diminished.Maybe give customers an option for the original paraffin or the new soy. You say the change was due to overwhelming customer feedback, well I’d say that the customers have now made it clear which formula they prefer.Hopefully we see the day that the original Tahaa returns.

Very little burning time. You used to be able to smell it in every room of the house, even if you had never lit it before, but now the scent is weak, the candle itself burns SO much faster than ever before and the wax tunnels and pools even if you follow the burning instructions to a tee. I bought the 760g candle at the end of December and it's almost gone mid-March, and I've only lit it a handful of times. I literally have it sitting on my desk in front of me right now and I cannot smell it. This used to be my absolute favourite candle and I have to say, I am extremely disappointed in the new formula change. One candle used to fill up my entire space with a beautiful smell, not I have to light a 360g and two small candles to achieve a similar scent; even then, I can only sometimes smell it. Will not be re-purchasing unless it changes back to it's old formula. Very very disappointed.
Why on earth would they change a product the didn’t need to be altered? It’s the perfect candle but Like everyone is talking about. Most loyal and dedicated customers are Totally disappointed. Years and countless amounts of $ of GH and I feel like it’s now a break up. Quality is a 1/10. Regardless of many replies from GH on these reviews suggesting we cannot burn a candle correctly. That’s 100% incorrect and a little ignorant to the fact the feedback is not taken on board. Would love to see a actual post of rectification to save all the lost costumers who are now in search of a alternative brand.

The lady in my local told me to buy up all the original candles I could manage including my fave Peach Bellini - I almost cried burning the last one *sniff*. Now.. I was also assured that I would notice no change in the fragrance and the burn time... I don’t know who declared such nonsense because honestly and unfortunately it’s a total untruth. Soy does not burn the same as wax. Wax interacts with the fragrance a lot better than soy. I do find it unusual that this change would be made to begin with? You say below that a lot of your customers requested you change to soy, I certainly didn’t. Parting is such sweet sorrow but, it’s simply no longer worth the money for a product that does not deliver.
