I really like the flint2 but don't like the instabilities it seems to have due to it being so new. It has a lot of bugs but despite that, I truly love this as my new WiFi router.Downsides: lack of WiFi 6E, lack of a singular 2.5 gbe port dedicated to LAN. I feel like they should have added a 3rd 2.5 gbe port that way you have a dedicated one for lan and you don't have to pick and choose lan vs WAN.Otherwise this thing gets great performance. Nearly 1000 mb download on speed tests while connected with WiFi. Few WiFi products can match that in the same price range. The WireGuard vpn server works great.

Amazing router!

I really like this router! It has almost everything that I need. It protects my family from malware sites, it blocks ads It has vpn per device! I can include only my TV to use vpn while rest of devices will be excluded. Also another nice feature is wifi scheduler - I can turn off my wifi during the night so I dint need to be exposed to necessary radiation. I definitely recommend this router.Wishlist: i would really like to see per app vpn feature, power off button from main menu, pihole instead adguard and vlan support.

Best router for the price, packed with commercial grade router features

This is definitely the best featured router for its price range. No other router can beat the features within this price range.Very simple interface and very meaningful menu.Very powerful in terms of packet processing and wifi antennas.Definitely is a keeper and already had many of my friends buy it for their router needs.I would highly recommend this router for any home and even for some small business needs. Disappointing Firmware Downgrades on GL iNet Flint 2 with lack of stability

I'm disappointed with my purchase of the GL iNet Flint 2 router. The initial firmware (4.5.6) caused unstable WiFi, especially on DFS channels. A subsequent update (4.5.7) disappointingly downgraded OpenWRT from 23.05 to 21.02, leading to issues like a reduction in ethernet port speed from 2.5 GB to 1 GB and a less user-friendly GUI. The company also altered its marketing post-purchase, creating a mismatch with what was initially advertised. Despite solid hardware, the software flaws significantly detract from the overall experience. I hope GL iNet learns from its mistakes and stabilizes the product with what was advertised previously as soon as possible.

Good routeur performant

Work good.Super performant, after good settings setup.For settings look at tutorial on GL.iNet, if you don't know how to do something, it's very good explaned.Just something the interface of the router and tutorial aren't in french.So must all translate.Another thing, I've connected the routeur with 4g+ Lte routeur Netgear nighthawks Mr1100, if it's connected in tethering in usb 3.0 port have some cuts.But if it's connected in gateway in Wan port of the routeur , with rj45 cable, works perfect.Only must the good settings entering.

Great Router

I still have a Flint 1 that replaced my Brume. Each upgrade was a step forward. The Flint 2 does it again with at least two more dance steps.There are lots of new/improved features and a noticeably better 5ghz experience. There are some firmware problems with 2.5ghz performance which I am confident will soon be a distant memory.Flint 2 is noticeably chunkier. And it is good to see the higher speed 2.5 ports. I don’t have a 2.5 connection, but I am a great believer in the additional headroom a faster backplane offers.I now have 2 Flint 2. One as router, one as wireless extender.Happy all round.

Great performance, full-featured

When I looked at netgear and tp-links router offerings I saw too many services they were trying to seel as subscriptions, which turned me away from them. So, I bought an ASUS router, which was decent aside from repeatedly dropping my connection with the intel WiFi in my laptop, which based on the note about upgrading intel firmware I found in the box is probably a known problem.The Flint 2 doesn't have any of those issues. The performance has been great, is supports recent versions of the wifi standard. It has an basic user interface that seems as easy to use as any consumer router, but also has advanced settings for people who know how to use them. I do not know what else could you buy in this price range that is supported by OpenWRT.Router's design is neat, power supply with interchangeable sockets is awesome.WiFi stable and coverage is much better than my previous old Linksys router (WRT1200AC).I do not use the stock firmware and I have not had any issues with flashing my own firmware (OpenWRT based Gargoyle).The only tiny issue was with my order. Manufacturer web-site suggested router + power supply bundle and I ordered it as I thought that power supply not included. Now I have two power supplies for no reason %-)

I purchased this router in order to replace the one provided by my ISP and I have to say, I am not only satisfied but even impressed with its capabilities for the price range it's in. I could only get my ISP router to do about 80 down, but I knew my fiber connection was higher than that, and after switching I can now get speeds in excess of 600 down. I haven't had it long enough to try of all the features on offer, but the control panel is fairly straightforward so the initial setup was easy. I can't imagine the other features will be too much more complicated. Ran the secondary WAN port as a LAN port to connect to my ISP router so I didn't have to deal with moving the rest of my family over to the higher speeds and it works a treat. Router works well, I did

Router works well, I did not have any issues with wifi stability when using the latest firmware. I have previously bought the Beryl travel router, so the interface is familiar and most functions that I wanted are present. I am disappointed that Glinet has not maintained/updated their SDK or Git repositories so that I cannot build any customized packages like I did with my Beryl a few years ago. Also, the dockerd package dependencies are not included (believe kmod-dm) in the latest package builds, so dockerd is broken as well and not a good alternate solution to again include custom packages. Because the customization ability is not currently available, I have docked a star in my assessment.
