The G-80 was purchased as a birthday gift for our Chef son along with a bit of overkill, a G-35 Chef's knife. He was certainly please with both and as he has only just started back at work I am awaiting for his professional feed back.

Wonderful! Also bought my 93-year-old mother the same knife and a paring knife. She loved it

I love Global knives. They are easy to hold, light weight, and have a very sharp thin edge that holds up well. I have a 5" Global I bought after using one a colleague owned. I love it for making beautiful, delicate cuts but it is also amazing for breaking down a pineapple. I debated between the 8" chefs knife and the 7" Santouku, but decided on the Santoku. I love it. Makes prepping vegetables a breeze and my hand doesn't tire. I am a small, thin woman and the heavier German knives make my hand tire quickly. With the Global knives my hand never feels tired.

I bought this knife to compliment my existing Global knife set and Im very pleased with it. Its a handy size when I dont need a really big knife. Usual good quality and comfortable to hold.
I am really impressed with the whole Global range. Excellent quality at a value price. I only have 4 knives and this is one of them. The granton finish really works well to minimise sticking. The balance and feel is superb. The thin razor sharp blade makes it a pleasure to work with, allowing for super-fine chopping. This is my knife of choice for most tasks.
This is a really nice knife. Thin blade that is very sharp and with regular sharpening using best practices should stay sharp for a very long time. Treat it with care and it will serve you well. Very useful knife over a broad range of uses from meat to vegetables. This is the most useful knife I own. Just remember it is very sharp which makes it a joy to use.
My new Global knives are awesome. Other than a couple of cuts on my hands (entirely my fault), due to their impressive sharpness, I am completely satisfied with them. Thanks Everten.
As a domestic cook, I'm a big fan of the Global range. They fit nicely in the hand, clean easily, and although they do require regular sharpening, all good knives do. This knife in particular is an excellent size for general vegetable prep and the flutes avoid the sticking problem. Fast becoming my new favourite!
I have several Global knives and use them for everything. This size is great for cutting meat, vegetables, fruit and any other cutting needs. Stays nice and sharp, and is easy to hone when needed. I have small hands and this knife fits me perfectly.
We've been using Global knives for eight years now and they are unbeatable, all of them are a joy to work with. This is one of the most recent additions to our collection of seven and it's easily my favourite. I use it for most general purpose cooking, the wider blade is especially helpful for squashing garlic and carrying ingredients to the pan. My wife does generally prefer the smaller utility knives though. Global knives are very sharp when new and hold their edge well, though like all good knives they need re-sharpening from time to time. We had cause to test the lifetime warranty recently when one of our older knives snapped and are pleased to say that Global replaced it immediately without any fuss, a refreshing approach these days.
