I used this radio in Bathurst with friends in a convoy and got 20km range clear reception.
I haven't given it a good trial yet but looks and feels good and has a great clear signal
I use gme tx6160 radios all day for traffic control and they're excellent, the fit and finish are top notch , the sound quality is excellent and they're nice and loud for wind and road noise equipment noise etc. I've dropped one several times on the radio before learning to use a lanyard and the radio still works just fine . However this time I ordered a camo model and the battery sat loose on the radio which means I couldn't trust it unfortunately so I returned it
Powerful 5 watt hand held UHF. Robust and well built and at a competitive price. Bought this particular model as we didn't want to fit an in car UHF and the portability factor is an advantage for me and my partner when trekking or wandering the beaches. Purchased an in car kit with outside aerial to increase the range and clarity whilst driving. We have GME products in our boat and they have never let us down so it made sense for us to go with what we know.
I thought GME were Australian made before buying I probably would have bought another brand. Case and extras are useful, could do with seperate chargers for each radio rather than a double.
Works great over distance and haven’t had any issues hearing my co workers
