Ok first use today on a fashion shoot, 1/4 power fully charged overnight.95 shots and battery is at 2/3rds. So 1/3rd power used for 95 say 100 shots should mean about 160 shots at full power to use 1/3rd. I should have been able to shoot about 480 shots at 1/4th power. Anyone getting 500 full power? Are you using the model light or no?

I've only been using this light for about a month, so I can't comment on longivity. Out of the box it seems to have good build quality and a decent travel bag. I bought the AC adapter and use this as a studio/travel light, and it excels at both. I'm very pleased with the color and power output accuracy, I do macro photography requiring focus stacking so this is a must. Two things that I think could be improved; 1. The head's made of hard plastic, I have a 6'x4' soft box and if I position it vertically the light body will flex... makes me a bit uneasy. 2. Although it's nice the mount is made of metal, the mount doesn't sit flush on some studs.

The 1200 is well built and very well thought-out (as is the rolling case and various accessories that come OEM).Controls are a no-brainer and the build quality is far better than the Eli Quadras and on-par if not better than any post-Ranger Elinchrom units. Our only two wish list items are:-------1. Make the fan temp-controlled vs. always on.2. A rubber cover-flap for the Broncolor-esque cable socket. Lots of tiny holes there begging for dirt entry.Looking fwd to using it and a forthcoming R1200 ring flash (sans shroud) in our Bron Para once we DIY a low-profile Bowens adapter.Recommended.

Ok. So initially I was super disappointed. I was excited having received my order, which was always a breeze with Strobepro... But then was totally let down when the battery for my unit didn't work . I figured it was just my luck because this sort of thing seemingly happens daily for me, but then Strobepro support to the rescue. Turns out it was a really easy fix and the battery just needed to be "activated" before being charged after being at such a low power state from transit. Couldn't be happier now! Although, Godox really needs an ac power adapter similar to the smaller units for this thing when in studio. Thanks Strobepro!!!
This is my first pack and head unit. It has lots of power to overcome bright sunlight. Having the capacitors and electronics separated from the head is a plus. I do have the extension head for the AD400 too for the same purpose. This takes the weight off the modifier which is great if you are booming in out from a light stand or using it backward firing, like I am, into the para 133.
I own a LOT of Godox gear. I mean a LOT. About 10 strobes and 12 flashes plus triggers for my three camera brands (Nikon, Fuji and Leica - and even an older box trigger). There are a lot of positive Godox reviews on B&H from me and I will highly recommend the products I use regularly to anyone who asks. Moreover, I have kept adding Godox gear to my kit over the years because as time has gone on they have shown themselves as committed to growing and improving in all facets of their products - from design, to functionality, to documentation, to support, and even packaging. Moreover, I have kept adding Godox gear to my kit over the years because as time has gone on they have shown themselves as committed to growing and improving in all facets of their products - from design, to functionality, to documentation, to support, and even packaging. What started out for me many years ago as an attempt at saving money by purchasing an extra flash (that saved me from spending 4x as much on yet another brand name product) has turned into me moving from camera brand and major lighting brand (aka - really expensive) lighting to nothing but Godox. And I haven't ever really had any big failures or issues. I don't use a couple of the older products as much any more as they weren't always consistent in output - but everything post-2018 continues to see heavy use and has been flawless with an occasional replacement battery or bulb (which is very expected). Part of the point of investing so much in Godox is that it allows me to maximize my investment while also minimizing my outlays (if that makes sense). If one of my AD300Pros fail - I can go get another one for a fraction of the big name light companies and do so readily. And honestly I wouldn't own 3 of any light type from one of the major brand companies because the budget wouldn't have existed. This is where I hope Godox is really paying attention. While the AD1200Pro is a lot of light for the money compared to the big brands - it is still a lot of money - period. And this was my first issue with a Godox product right out of the box. Easy fix in that I received it with a bum flash bulb. Honestly looking at the packaging I am guessing someone had owned it before and returned it - maybe because of the bulb, maybe they just touched things they shouldn't have. Rather than returning it I just ordered a replacement bulb and issue solved. But when playing in this price league - my expectations are now different. If a $180 flash shows up bad - well I'll just return and replace. When a 4 figure light shows up with an issue - I am going to have concerns about quality control. Maybe it is a fluke. Regardless - the point is the same. For this much money it has to work.Note I did not knock any stars off of the review. These are supposed to be product reviews - not reviews about supply chains, or me misunderstanding product functionality, or somebody not reading the manual, or shipment issues, or anything else silly. As a product - this is impressive. The only knock I have on the light is the plastic handle that tightens the screw that holds it onto the c-stand or junior stand is sort of cheap. Remarkable given what I will say about the product itself. But I am concerned if this gets knocked hard I may break it.The good stuff is a long list - so here goes.Contrary to what others note - if something goes wrong with this light you can easily replace the parts from the glass dome, to the bulb, to the flash head, to the battery, charger, power cable, and even the roller case. The only thing I haven't found replaceable in the accessory list is the core pack itself - but that sort of makes sense. Oh - and the replacement parts are bargain priced. I plan on picking up some spares - particularly a battery, glass dome, and a flash head. The quality of the bag this unit comes with is phenomenal. This is a nice roller bag that can be altered to convert into a backpack, and can even be sealed up nice enough to fit in an overhead compartment on a plane if you feel like it. Top notch here - and again - makes for the cheap plastic lever that locks it to the stand a real surprise.Function wise - this is one serious piece of kit. You can make tradeoffs between color accuracy, recycle times, and flash duration using the menus. So when one matters more than the other - you get to make the choice. Kudos Godox.Speaking of menus - this box is really smartly laid out. I read the manual because I always read the manual - but I don't think I needed to. Despite the feature rich nature of the box - it is incredibly sensible. All of the basic features you would want from HSS to power off timers to 10th stop power increments are present and seem to work just fine. The battery seems pretty good - but this is an area I won't commit to until I've owned it for an extended time as I have seen some variance in batteries over the years as I have used products. I did fire off about 250 flashes today at power levels from 1/4 - 1/1 and the battery is still showing 80%. In a studio situation where I would be shooting at 1/32nd power at most (this is a SERIOUSLY powerful light) I imagine this battery would yield a ridiculously large number of shots.Charge time on the battery was very good and the charger, while bulky, stores very easily along with the battery, head, and pack inside the included bag.Overall weight is not bad. I will likely get rid of at least one of my AD600s (probably my older BM). The fact that this is in such an easy to use roller case and I can drop a single AD600Pro in my camera bag as a second light suggests I will no longer need that light.Oh - and the modeling lamp seems like it would work great for video work. There is a fan in the light - so perhaps it would be too loud. But boy is it bright. Because it is an LED - I am hoping like my newer and smaller AD's with LEDs - that I won't miss buying replacement bulbs too much :)I'm looking forward to playing around some more with the light - including trying some short flash duration tests. The initial results are great and - outside of the little quality blip out of the box - I expect this will serve its purpose for a long time to come. Hopefully Godox is paying attention to QC these days as much as I suspect they are. Keep it up and I'll keep writing checks. Now if I could just justify the expense of the AD2400...
The ad1200pro is a great unit. Unfortunately, mine came with a battery that would not charge even after awakening. B&H quickly swapped out the battery and all is well now.It is a bit hefty but it also has all the potential power you would need in most settings. I like that the power pack and the head are separate and that I can use the pack as a weight to hold down my c-stand.
This thing works extremely well with all Broncolor parabolic reflectors. You just need a Bowens cage either made by Parabolix or Cheetahstand. I have the first one. A universal adapter will work as well, but a cage is a fool proof solution :)The flash is extremely well built, reliable and functional. The battery lasts forever. At first I was hesitating purchasing it because it has just one head, but IRL it's a pretty clean and practical solution. The only thing I'm wondering - why there is no frosted glass available for the head. I hope Godox will start making them some day.
Bought this as part of the summer bundle. An extremely good price. This pack and head system really is everything I hoped it would be. Build quality is easily on par with Profoto.Light quality is excellent and stable. Flash duration is as good as it gets.Basically the whole package just screams quality.Right now this is being used mainly with a 120cm para and the focussing rod and the fact that the lamp head is so light I have no worries about sending it out on a boom.I will be getting another one and I'll hope that Godox decides to make a pack that can accommodate two (or more) heads. If you don't think you need this much power....why not? !There was a small concern with the packaging of my unit but Strobepro sorted it out within 48 hours. I don't really shop ... MoreBought this as part of the summer bundle. An extremely good price. This pack and head system really is everything I hoped it would be. I have beat up old studio Speedotrons, Dynalite and other brands and while they served well for over 20 years the Dynamites finally came to death too many times to keep running and sold off the monster Speedotrons. I have been very impressed with Godox strobes and at the price you can have several backups on hand incase of an accident. Flash duration and color consistency have been fantastic.
