Absolutely the most exciting light I've worked with so far. Wicked powerful strobe, nice bright LED, and it was compatible with the genuine Godox branded trigger I already had. I've wanted to save up for Profoto B1's for years, and this absolutely blows it out of the water. I've already ordered a second one that I'm expecting on Friday, along with a few more Strobepro Rapid Softboxes. I didn't want to touch Bowens at first, being a big fan of Profoto and Elinchrom from previous experience, but the value for dollar of everything I've bought from here so far is ridiculous. If you want a battery powered light for studio and portable work, buy Godox/Strobepro, period. Their X-series lights (V860, AD360, AD600) are the fastest and most powerful of their class, AD360 ... MoreAbsolutely the most exciting light I've worked with so far. My friend in Texas bought a bunch of V860's for his wedding and portrait studio, and I have the latter two lights, and neither of us can think of a con for this. The only possible negative thing I could say would be the albeit predictable weight of the AD600 (X600ii) being so topheavy, but Godox already addressed that by releasing a corded flash head to plug into this unit, rendering it a power pack to a lighter flash head rather than a standalone. Everything they could have done to make this more flexible, they have, and Godox has been absolutely on top of customer feedback and firmware updates like adding a function to the trigger for turning he modelling lamp on and off. There's too much to drone on about with this light, and all of it is positive. I say again, if you want a good light on any budget, look to these first. Phenomenal.

First of all, it was nice to be able to speak to an actual person on the phone - great customer service. So far I am loving the lights. I have as yet to read the manuals and go in depth but I really wanted to lose some of the cords in my studio and this light has been perfect for that. It's lasted more sessions that I expected and Im pleased with how long the battery stays charged.Even though I've yet to read any manuals everything worked straight out of the box.I wish it had come with a reflector dish. Every light I've purchased in the past automatically came with one and when I saw it didn't I decided not to bother. In retrospect I guess I should have paid the extra to have them.

I purchased a couple of these two years ago and while it's definitely a useful strobe, there were several limitations. These were addressed in their pro version and in my opinion are worth the extra 200$.The first complaint is the plastic tripod mount with a toothed tilt swivel. This ensures that at least half the time you can't get your light aimed perfectly. The second, and really the thing that had me sell these is the modeling light. On the 600pro they upgraded from the miserable 10w unit to a far more usable 40w one.Bottom line, if you want a cheap battery strobe this will work. If you want a fairly cheap battery strobe which you won't feel annoyed with when you can't see your subject to focus, go for the pro version.

I know have 2 Godox AD600 lights and really live them. They work flawlessly with the on-camera Godox trigger. The other day I was shooting a big group from atop a tall ladder and was adjusting light intensity from there very easily. Really enjoying working with these. Using one with a soft box makes for really nice portrait light.
More often than not enthusiasts and semi pro photographers are simply priced out of the market these days yet Godox have produced an amazing light that opens the back door of the portraiture world for the likes of us to sneak a peak! This light, and its sister range Ad200/300/400 & now super 1200, offers us the opportunity to delve into the magic of creating and understanding light in a way we would never had the opportunity to even consider just ten years ago. My only advice when considering this light is to ensure you have a sturdy stand upon which to mount it, preferably a C/Stand, this is my next purchase. Apart from that I have absolutely NOTHING negative to say about this, affordable, well made, excellent featured, portable, battery operated, model lit, ... MoreMore often than not enthusiasts and semi pro photographers are simply priced out of the market these days yet Godox have produced an amazing light that opens the back door of the portraiture world for the likes of us to sneak a peak! You simply CANNOT and WILL NOT go wrong or be disappointed when buying this light! Heres to the future and a steep learning curve in light made all the more easier due to Godox and this absolute beauty of a light
I used the Godox AD600BM with my Fujifilm GFX 50S this past week for two days of outdoor portraits. The HSS makes a huge difference for shooting at shutter speeds above the camera’s relatively slow sync speed, allowing one to shoot wide open. In the next two weeks, I will use a pair of the AD600BMs for on location, for small-group portraits. With the AC adapters, the strobes won’t need to rely upon battery power. Perfect outdoors and in the studio.
I use this light for real estate photography. I was going to go with a smaller less powerful light but I decide to go for this one. I'm glad I did.. it has plenty of power for even the largest sized rooms but it can be powered way down for a small bathroom or kitchen. It is heavier than other small lights but it's not that bad and it's portable enough that I never use a stand, I just hold it up. The larger size also means that the battery lasts longer - especially when using lower output. It's a good light and it never gave me any issues in over a year of using it.
The unit is generally well-built and delivers excellent light. My biggest gripe is that the adjusting handle apparently has a large sawtooth inside it, so holds firmly only in very discrete increments, while other Godox lights have a continuous adjustment. This difference makes it trickier than I expected to accurately point the light. The Godox remote control interface is also not particularly intuitive.
I have used Balcar strobes since the 1980s and kept with them for the quality of light. The design of the AD600BM flash tube is the closest to the Balcar U shaped tubes which provide an even light so I decided to give these a try.Overall, the quality of light was close to the Balcar, more so than the many other well known, high end brands I have used. I found the color temp to be slightly colder but I chalk that up to the UV corrected pyrex shells on the Balcars which the Godox lack.I'm an old school, manual type shooter. I know how to use a flash meter, but I have always embraced new technology (I went digital in 1999). But since I have to set up lights on stands I figured its just as easy to set the power on the units. However I love the ability to now do it ... MoreI have used Balcar strobes since the 1980s and kept with them for the quality of light. But since I have to set up lights on stands I figured its just as easy to set the power on the units. However I love the ability to now do it at my camera on the remote.I recently put these to the test on a three hour shoot of over 400 exposures of simple head shots for college students on location. At ISO 100 using a very basic two light system, I was able to shoot at f11 and the batteries never got below two bars of power. Set up was so easy, not running power cords to outlets and taping them down for safety. I had set the ratios before arriving (naturally I tested my set up before hand) and simply placed the heads on stands, added my light modifiers and popped up a background, set stool in place and was ready to go.The real test was when I downloaded the images. Exposures were extremely consistent as was color temp from first frame to final one. A simple warming of the overall shoot in Lightroom and it was ready to deliver. I got the even light I have come to expect in this simple set up and the batteries held up. I do have the AC adapters as back up but I don't think I'll ever use them.Let me know if you 'd like to buy any used Balcar equipment.
I love this new tool! I have no regrets about this purchase of the BM instead of the TTL version. Truth is when deciding, I wanted the TTL version but when I went back to look at the frequency i actually used and liked the TTL results, I just could not justify the extra cost! This meets more than my needs and really will for a long time in the future I think. Plenty of power, size is still managable and the BM version makes me a better photographer! Product arrived in great condition and a day earlier than I expected.YOU WILL NOT REGRET THIS PURCHASE!!!
