The fabric started coming across at the seams on the second build. I keep the softboxes in their bags and then in a larger bag as well, so they're always well kept. This still works and smells like a textile plant (they way all cheap plastics do) but I'd rather have spent my money on quality. Lesson learned.

I didn’t know it’d be this big. (That’s what she said...sorry)I needed a bigger soft box with a grid for my Aputure 300X and this was a great purchase. It takes a little work to fit it in the carry bag without removing the rods. I want a quick setup instead of a full tear down every time I travel with it. I wish it were a little bigger and easier and could fit the Bowen’s mount. But the quality is great and it’s huge.

Solid and well built. Good value for money. The only thing that was missing was a one page assembly instruction, because there are ten holes to fit the four rods into. With instructions it would have been obvious and I would not have to worry about doing any damage.

For the price, especially compared to Aputure's light dome ii, this is a great option. It includes two layers of diffusion AND a grid. I got the 48 option, and it is just as effective as the Aputure Light Dome.Initial set up is somewhat difficult and time consuming. It's rather stiff out of the box, and I popped a seam trying to install a rod. I would NOT recommend this for location shoots, and especially not for anything run and gun. I don't think it will hold up to repeated setup and breakdown. And it is hard to setup quickly or cleanly. I don't want to be fussing with a softbox for 10 minutes in front of a client. For something like that, it's well-worth the price to invest in a Light Dome. However, if you're looking for a long term studio light that stays up, ... MoreFor the price, especially compared to Aputure's light dome ii, this is a great option. Huge value and effective.
Great softbox, however, some assembly is required. A quick search on YouTube and you'll find the necessary instructions since instructions were not included. Definitely challenging getting the rods into place, but manageable with some patience. Can't wait to shoot with it!
For the low cost how can we complain I've assembled and used mine twice with no damage to anything. While it is frustrating to figure out how to assemble and a bit difficult once figured out, I can't complain. In my opinion it's great for studio work where it can stay assembled as I don't enjoy the assembly part. If I had it to do over I would buy another design that's much simpler and doesn't breakdown into numerous pieces.
I have assembled several softboxes in my life, and I can tell you this has been the easiest of all I have had. I dont give it the full 5 stars because it made a big belly forward; something my old softboxes developed over time. Also, the color that reflects off the silver surface makes the pictures a little cooler for my taste, but that is easily corrected. Overall, very good product!
This is one of two Godox Softboxes I own. Both provide perfectly even, natural light. Used with my Godox Witstro flash, I achieve stunning results.
Sure, it's not as quick tear down as some, but I can still put it together in less than a minute. That's the only downside to this. The light is wonderful. I like the ability to double diffuse for portraits and faux natural light shots. It's the perfect size for the bottom light in a clamshell set up, great front light for portraits of individuals or small groups. Overall, it's a very versatile modifier. I'm glad I added it to my kit.
The reason these get four stars instead of five is that Godox does not include instructions in the box.I am building a studio on a budget and the price was right for these boxes. Naturally, I was worried about what kind of quality to expect for that price, but my concern faded when I began taking the parts out of the box. The only place where the quality looks a little questionable is the carrying bag. I can live with that.As mentioned, there are no instructions, so construction of the box was somewhat trial and error. It's intuitive, but the speed ring is made to accommodate all the different dimensions Godox offers and I inevitably put the rods into the wrong receptacles - twice. The inner diffusion is a hook and loop that was easy to assemble. It's intuitive, but the speed ring is made to accommodate all the different dimensions Godox offers and I inevitably put the rods into the wrong receptacles - twice. The inner diffusion is a hook and loop that was easy to assemble. I'm speculating here, but the loops are stretchy material and I could see them fraying if you aren't careful when assembling/disassembling them. The outer diffusion and grid both attach with velcro and seem sturdy. Assembly of the first box took about an hour, the second one took fifteen minutes. I'm sure I could get that down to five minutes after a few times, but I don't anticipate breaking them down unless I have to fly with them. The Bowens mount is very convenient and I like the I can easily spin the boxes from vertical to horizontal or to any orientation I desire. After taking some test shots, I am completely satisfied with this purchase. In fact, my expectations were greatly exceeded. If their durability is as good as the quality of the materials seems to be, I expect to get a lot of mileage out of them.As the headline says, you can't do better at this price point!I would definitely recommend these to anyone building a studio on a budget and I anticipate buying more Godox light modifiers.
