I've been using the AD200s and 860iis for a few years now. For live events the 860ii was good but hit it's thermal boundary way before I thought it should. With the V1Pro I'm able to shoot much more without that issue cropping up. It's also more powerful so I can use less flash percentage (which adds longevity). Looking forward to getting more comfortable with the fill unit as well as I continue to test it out. If I nitpicked one thing I think the main flash is a tad blue but I'm trying out very mild CTOs and it's now more to my liking. Honestly, I can't say this is a flash issue as the color seems spot on, I just prefer a bit warmer light. Honestly, this was an easy 5-stars and I'll probably pick up a second unit for a second shooter soon.

I have owned many godox products and this was the first time i have received a defective product. The TTL/M toggle switch does not work and i am very disappointed in this product. I bought this to use for a wedding and obviously i wont be able to use it now. I am not happy and because of my location it will be very difficult and costly to return.

I bought this flash for an upcoming event that will take place indoors at a restaurant. After doing my research, I determined this was the best flash for my Nikon Z8. It mounts on the camera easily and works flawlessly in my preliminary use. B&H is an excellent source, quick delivery, good pricing. The website is easy to navigate to find exactly what I need/want.

The flash is sturdy, with a metal mounting shoe. I bought it primarily for use with my 4 X 5 Crown Graphic and my medium format Rolleiflex that takes a square photo. The round beam shape works well with those formats. It will also be great with my Canon R series cameras. In order to use it effectively with the manual cameras I need Guide Numbers, which are nor listed in the specifications. I contacted Godox a few days ago and have not had a reply.
I picked this up because my 860IIS has been misfiring lately, costing me shots. I couldn't be happier! This flash was rock solid through a night of event shooting. The sub-flash is great for fill when you're bouncing the flash of the ceiling. Very happy with my purchase!A little thing, but being able to directly charge with USB-C is also a nice workflow simplifier.
My V1 recently shut down on me at a critical moment during an event because it had over heated from my excessive firing. This pro version is supposed to help prevent this from happening again. Otherwise it's pretty much the same as the original version. I love these flashes and this pro version may be just a bit better. That's a good thing.
Got mine today. Not too many shots yet, works just like V1C, radio system checks out fine. However I had a question that is now answered so I thought I would post it. The new battery that comes with the V1 Pro C is 100% compatible and interchangeable with the VB26 battery that was in the original V1 C, the V860III line, etc. They’re identical except for the USB-C charge port in the new battery, and can be charged either via that port or with the older USB-C external little charging stand.
Not weather sealed. the regular flash, front flash and modeling lights are significantly different white balance. The mini front flash isn't TTL and doesn't sync with the main flash. You have to control both independently. I'd pay double for a speed light with these features.
The round head doesn't work for me. Of course your experience might be different.I shoot events in London 3 to 4 time a week taking about 300 flash images per event. My favourite flash was the godox 860ii. But it occasionally overheat, over expose, or cause my EosR to default to auto ISO when I set it to manual! The 860II would burn out after a year of use, so now I have a collection of these burnt out flashes on my shelf....... Hence the purchase of this V1Pro.Firstly this flash is big improvement in that I have yet to see it overheat and the battery life is excellent. The locking hotshoe foot is much better. The downsides are the round head, I prefer the rectangular head..... Better zoom range and my reflector flap fits better around the head. Also the rectangular shape fits better in my camera bag especially when I have 3 flashes in there. Finally the detachable slave flash at the front can be turned off in the menu, however if the flash goes to sleep and then wakes up then suddenly the slave flash automatically turns back on and you have to go into the menu to turn it of again. I used it once then detached it and haven't used it since. Perhaps a firmware update will fix this in the future.Overall the performance of the flash is much better than the 860ii and iii but the round head does not work for me. I'm waiting for an 860mk4. Once released I will by several of these.
I was looking for an additional flash comparable to my beloved Canon 600EXII-RT flash. I saw this one come up on my feed on YouTube and looked in to it further. I was intrigued by the detachable sub-flash but didn't think I would get much use out of it. I was wrong. I love having it and using as fill. Easy to use, was able to set up as the master and use my canon flash as a slave with an old godox receiver. Very happy with my purchase so far. I also appreciate the ability to charge the battery directly with a USB C cord instead of using AA batteries.
