I switched from my Canon Speedlites to Godox because I was having issues with recycle time on AA batteries. I was using Sanyo Eneloops but when Panasonic took over, these batteries just weren't as good anymore. Someone recommended these to me because of the rechargeable Lithium batteries. I have been very happy with these since. The recycle time is insane and I can last an entire day on the same battery (I shoot weddings - so really it's just the evening but WAY longer than before with AAs). I can also trust that my flash will fire at least 2-3 times in a row if not more when fully charged to make sure I can get the shot which is especially important for weddings. Definitely a great purchase. These are also great because the triggers can work with any of them ...Β MoreI switched from my Canon Speedlites to Godox because I was having issues with recycle time on AA batteries. I bought a total of three flashes. I measured their luminous intensity with a flash meter Seikonic 758 at 4 and 8 feet and three different intensities. Results show some inconsistencies between the three devices but they are OK for my application. I can fine tuned the output via the remote control. These units lack several features that you find in brand units, but the price is much higher.

Battery life is near infinite, colors are accurate, and works very well with the rest of the godox system.A little big on my fuji cameras, but there's not really much you can do about that. Oh well.I highly recomend this Li-Ion version over the AA version. The extra recycle speed and over triple the battery life are TOTALLY worth it. But, they do have the same features, output and colors, so the AA versions make great backups.

I get a chuckle when I hear the rationalizations from other pros about how the extra giant chunk of change they spent on other lights is worthwhile. News flash. Godox has quietly improved its products and justifying the extra dollars is really a struggle. Maybe for high end commercial shoots. Maybe. But I am finding it harder to see a difference under ANY circumstance. This flash in particular is phenomenal. I have 8 of them now. 4 for my Lumix camera and 4 for my Fujis. The goal was to have backups in case of failure (which was almost guaranteed with older products from Godox). For the price extras are an easy justification. But what I have found is that these flashes are consistent across examples in terms of lighting power, lighting quality and (truly exceptional) battery life. Any negatives? I would love to see more fine-grained control over power output. I have a couple of buggy behaviors with my Fuji versions and my GFX where I have had to restart the flash and trigger to get accurate remote control of light output. I don't see it with my XT3, so it may be unique to the platform. HSS performance has a little variability at different power levels. But again - it is consistent across examples. that allows me to plan for it.I haven't decided yet to fully switch my strobes to Godox, but after some time with the 860IIF I am planning on picking up a couple recent model Godox strobes.Watch out makers of other lights. For those of us who understand the nature of incremental improvements and the ridiculous nature of brand loyalty the arguments aren't holding much water any more. Especially as competition for business heats up.
I love this flash. I was using a Nikon flash in my Fuji camera, which it works fine, in manual mode, and I decided to buy some TTL Flash. I saw different options but I saw the ratings in this flash/brand. I am very please. It's very powerful and the battery is really good. Its looks a little heavy in the Fuji, but I think its a very well construct. The TTL tend to be a little underexpose, but it have to do with the camera, than the flash. I shoot from 7:30am to 2:00pm several kids for small soccer league, some time big groups (full power) and the power bars don't even move. Of course I am going to buy a spare battery soon, and definitely I will buy another flash in a couple of weeks.
I've only used the flash once but it seems to work very well with good battery life. It also has a nice, solid feel, well built, not delicate like some flashes i know of. When things went squiffy it was because of user error, not the flash (I was in second curtain mode when I didnt mean to be). The one niggle is the built-in bounce card which disappeared and I could not retreive. It wasn't a big deal because I had a much larger bounce attached but, if the internal one was my main, it would've been a headache. Other than that, all's well. I think it's a keeper and comes at a decent price.
I've purchased six flashes over the last ten years. The Godox VING is by far my favorite. One of the best things about this flash is the battery - it's rechargeable. I do not have to keep packs of AA batteries in my bag and have to swap them out every few hours, expecially if I had a lengthy event. The rechargeable battery in the Godox held its charge for two days - shooting about five hours each day. I love that I can take the battery out, set it on the charger, and have it ready within an hour. The flash itself is simple to use. It can be set up to use a s a slave flash or on-camra. And the cost is so reasonable. I plan to purchase one for my Canon camras too.
Great flash unit for the price!!! I would prefer a Pro-Foto A-1, but these work great. I have noticed on TTL that output can vary from shot to shot, but I only use these with a Manual setting & have never had a problem. Great for quick portable, studio style lighting. Better than expected battery life too!!!!
Great product that mates really well with my fuji x-t3.The included rechargeable battery is awesome, fast recycles and lasts through entire events and then some.Great product at an affordable price, if you use fuji it's a must for your kit, especially when paired with the magmod kit.
This is my second unit; got it to have both main & fill lights and I have them connected to the XProF wireless trigger. I recently did a shoot where I had both flashes set up on umbrella stands, and I was controlling individual flash power manually using the on-camera remote. The interfaces on speedlights are always a bit confusing but this unit is not that hard to figure out even if you don't have the manual with you. I love that I can just keep shooting without worrying about the flash not triggering or at partial power; recycle is almost instant. And when doing precise metering, the results were consistent over the course of many shots.
