I've shot with the X-Pro S for a few years now and it's great. As soon as I saw this X3 Trigger on PixaPro's Instagram for pre-order, I dived straight in to purchase it.I've used it a few times now and its seamless, small and doesn't take up hardly any space in the camera bag. It did come in Chinese but a simple setting in the language got me to English in seconds.I like the touch screen and the ability to increase flash power with a slide of your finger and individual or as a group. The updating process seems very simple to do and I look forward to future updates.I'm keen to see if Godox and PixaPro embrace the OLED touch screens built into their flashes next.Would recommend for anyone :)

I am amazed by this little flash trigger. It’s not as bulky as the previous ones I have used. I have brought it on 4 photoshoots and it has synced up great! I love the bright screen it has and being able to adjust my power levels on the fly while turning off and on certain lights has been useful. It also comes with a nice projective case that feels high quality. The overall build of it is great and battery life. I highly recommend this trigger from Godox!

I was concerned when these were announced. The use of a rechargeable battery that takes 2hours to recharge…what happens if it dies during a shoot? Would I need to carry an AA back up option?Well they finally arrived and after a quick charge we were off. After a handful of jobs over about a week, I’d managed to get 27 hours of shooting time out of one charge nearly 3000 flashes and it only missed a handful. I’ve quickly got used to the interface and am moving around it quickly. I really like that you can not only turn of groups but you can also remove them from the screen if your not using them. Making for a much cleaner interface. I will absolutely be updating the studios triggers with more X3 as and when I need to.

I bought the X3 for the hardier hotshoe mount (I use the Sony version and the plastic mount on my X2 trigger had a developed a few cracks in it). However, I was immediately impressed by the touchscreen, which is easy to use and navigate. The rechargeable internal battery is a big plus and I like the additional option of being able to use the scroll wheel/push button to make changes. A huge step up from Godox in their remote trigger line, IMO. It's well worth the price.
I need to return this. I don’t know if they’re all like this or if I caught a bad copy. But the one I got constantly misfires and can’t even keep up shooting on burst with low power. When I use my V1 Flash as a trigger it works perfectly and fires off the flash on every frame when firing at 10fps. When using the Godox XNano it’ll fire the flash off every 4-6 frames when firing at 10fps.The design of it is nice and the touch screen is too. But it doesn’t work the way I need to and certainly can’t use it at all for weddings if it can’t keep up.
This flash trigger is SO easy to use! It works perfectly with my V1 flashes. I love the trigger’s touchscreen interface and small size, especially because it looks great on top of my Sony A7IV camera. I use a shoulder camera strap, which means that my camera is upside down whenever I am not actively taking a picture. However, I never have to worry about the trigger falling off of the hot shoe. Overall, this trigger is a huge improvement over the other bulky, outdated options.
I am very pleased with this new trigger design but please note that you may need to change the menu language from Chinese to English. How to switch Xnano menus from Chinese to English:1. Hold the M/O button to turn it on2. Tap M/O briefly, or swipe down on screen, to get next level menu3. Touch the Gear shape, which is a Setting icon4. Scroll down until you see a globe on the right hand side. Touch that globe and you will be able to change menus to English. My rating is a little tentative since I have not yet tried it in studio. Seems to trigger lights fine though, like other triggers.Be sure to set the trigger distance menu item. It comes by default set to 1-100m. I have found with other Godox triggers that the 1-30m setting is far more reliable in studio.
Once you get used to very few buttons, you won’t need to constantly adjust settings. The TTL to manual switch works really well. Not having to find AA batteries or have a giant piece on my camera is nice. The battery lasts long and the carrying case protects and still is smaller than the Xpro or Xpro II. I wish the step up were more detailed it goes from .3 to .7 and skips .5 which is why I did knock off a star. It can easily be updated in a software update.
I hold my camera with my right hand and adjust the trigger with my left. That works perfectly with previous triggers. With this new one I have to awkwardly reach over the device and try to twist the crown with my left hand, it's very uncomfortable and blocks the screen. The crown is stiff and needs two fingers to turn, it's not like an Apple Watch crown. Basically, don't buy this trigger unless you like releasing your grip on the camera and adjusting it with your right hand. I'm returning this and going back to my previous Godox trigger. I don't like touch screen only adjustments and the crown is in a very bad position.
My original review of this item was negative in part because most menu entries were in Chinese! This made it hard to navigate.1. Hold the M/O button to turn it on2. Tap M/O briefly, or swipe down on screen, to get next level menu3. Touch the Gear shape, which is a Setting icon4. Scroll down until you see a globe on the right hand side.
