The grips arrived quickly and I wasted no time replacing my old Tour Velvet grips with these less expensive ones. It was good that the grip tape provided was on a roll and not cut into individual strips. I prefer to use a longer length of tape so I can twist round the excess and poke it up the end of the shaft. The grips went on easily . The first thing I noticed is that they are narrower than Tour Velvet mid-size. I would recommend two layers of tape if you're wanting a match for mid-size Tour Velvet. The other thing is I can't see "mid-size" written on the grips. OK they feel nice and thick but it would be reassuring to actually have the confirmation that you've got the right ones and not standard ones. I tried all kinds of grips before ranging from iomic to couple other Japanese brands to bunch of other golf pride grips. After years of playing, there's a reason why the basic model is still around. For me, Tour Velvet Swing Grip is a classic and does the job. It's simple and gets the job done. If you're a scratch golfer or a low handicap, you should know that grips matter a lot and they need to be swapped out often. Highly recommend just sticking with the basic with logo down.

I purchased 4 of the tour velvet mid-sized grips nd loved them. I just purchased 8 more to complete the rest of my set. The slight increase in size and the texture enabled me to relax my grip and obtain a more comfortable and even swing. I'm anxious to see how these grips hold up as the weather patterns change from spring to summer to fall.

I tried the tour velvet grips on my driver, woods, and wedges. I moved to a larger grip size and the difference in my grip and consistency is quite notable. The change to the tour velvet material and the mid-sized grip has provided me with a more comfortable and more relaxed consistent grip. I'm happy with the outcome and am now changing all my irons over to the tour velvet grip.
Classic style grip that has been a standard for quite a long time. It gives a good balance between feel and comfort. Not so firm that is hard on the hands, or so soft that you loose feel at contact. They provides good grip in multiple weather conditions. I also like the taper profile. The one complaint I read from others is with durability. They can begin to get a little slick with time. I find that if I take a little time to wipe them down after several rounds and even use the a club cleaning brush once in awhile I will get easily over 100 rounds with them. I try other grips, but always come back to tour velvets.
The Golf Pride Tour Velvet grip is the most reliable grip I've ever used. Not too tacky, not too slippery, not too heavy, just right. A classic. No gimmicks, just well-made rubber. Very consistent. It is not the softest, but it does provide a great grip, one that you can reliably hold and swing with a feather-light grip Like any other grip, it must be replaced regularly to keep the best performance. Not a fad, it will be around long after the latest gimmick grips have disappeared.
I picked the golf pride velvet tour midsize with 4 wraps on my new set of irons. I really liked the feel of these grips so I purchased the jumbo size for my driver and woods.(2wraps). The feel is terrific. There soft but just firm enough not to squeeze the grip. I normally do not wear a glove and have no problem keeping a good grip on the these. I do believe I will be sticking with these for awhile
I purchased these grips on an emergency basis as my standard grip is the Golf Pride Tour Velvet .58 Ribbed but those arenāt sold in most places. I am comparing this grip to a previously purchased grip titled ā GOLF PRIDE TOUR VELVET SUPER TAC GRIP BLACK MID.āI definitely liked the super tac grip better. It was easier to place on the clubs and had a higher quality feel about it. Unfortunately they are no longer available. The velvet standard grip was a challenge to place onto the clubs and felt thinner. Iāve only had a few chances to golf using these and so far they have held up.
I bought these grips and tape as a bit of an experiment, having never tried fitting grips before and not wishing to spend a fortune. Armed with the knowledge from several YouTube videos I set about replacing my very old and worn grips. I am very pleased with the results. The grips (medium sized) feel really comfortable and supple although my golf hasn't shown any improvement yet. Fitting was pretty trouble free (I think I stretched one stubborn grip by about a quarter of an inch but it hasn't been a problem. The tape supplied was ample for the job. I would certainly recommend these and would buy again when replacement comes around again.
