I bought this camera because I was sick to death of false alerts every time the sun went behind a cloud or an automation turned a light on. The human deetction in these camera's is really good and I have no more false alerts now. The only negative so far is that you can't set up automations from a human detected alert to turning ona plug or alarm yet.

Have been using this Indoor Cam and Nest Doorbell for a few months now and I can highly recommend both. Easy to set up in the Google Home app and the quality of image is excellent. Being able to view the steam on any Chromecast device is a great bonus. It is best when used with a Nest Aware subscription but not necessary.

Eventually I got it set up in Google Home but could not add it to the Nest app. I spent ages on this and eventually found it DOES NOT WORK WITH THE NEST APP. How misleading! There is no way your can view your camera from the desktop. This camera will only works on the google home app which is only on the phone. Does not work with Nest app or nest web. Google says they are developing something but what a poor execution of a product
Excellent clarity! Have been using it as cctv/baby monitor. Wish it had more than 3 hours of recording without nest subscription. Nevertheless,Great pick during the price drop.
It is pretty solid, however the only downside to it is that if electrivity is out, the camera is also useless, they have the battery one, but again if it runs outta battery, it is useless!!! Like i am shocked why they don't build something that has both... Google... thirsty for money... who knows... Also, for face recognition feature (Nest Aware) you have to pay monthly - which also records anything that happens within the room you have the camera at.
Purchased this as an alternative baby monitor. But it is useless as live feed doesn’t work (known problem, google it). Camera records and can view recorded movements. Have used 1st gen with no issues.
So my gen 1 nest works fine. I bought a new one to cover another area of my home, but live video on this one doesn't work. Weirdly video recordings work fine so I know the camera actually works, for some reason it won't show live video. If you google it for a solution, there are several threads on google help, but none of them have a resolution that works for everyone yet. For some it randomly starts working, for others they need restart it multiple times etc. I'll have to return it and get something else.
I love this camera. Set up was easy, as is using it. The video and audio quality are much better than I expected. I get notifications whenever the camera picks up activity, including my cat walking around or the delivery guy looking through my window. These notifications can be set for different routines, so I'm not getting anything I don't want. The camera has a fairly wide field of vision, and I can catch most of the room just with the camera sitting on a shelf. I'm definitely getting another one, and will also be looking at getting the outdoors version.
I love the idea of this product, but have had several issues with it. Connectivity often drops out, despite no interruptions with our NBN / wifi router at home. I’ve made this complaint clear on Google customer forums and it appears to be a common issue. It would be great for future generations of the product to include a temperature sensor as well.
