Very dsappointed with camera, I started the return procedure in the dead of the night on day of purchase and took it back the day after. Intened use: monitor childs nocturnal seizures Pros: It's Google; magnetic effortless placement; sleek design for indoors; super HD picture and super zoom-in; no delay live streaming on 5G wifi; 2-way audio; free cloud storage; can clear all recordings in google home app, easy setup and controls Cons: Misleading operations, a subscription is required to receive notification and save recordings beyond 3 hours not that you can store 3 hrs worth of recording at a time! (researched confirmed in google community support forum post that this is intended) Cannot simply detect any motion by change of "pixles" and only detect by preset categories of person, animal, or vehicle etc. Does not record intial detection and records too long after detection. examples: Notification when child sat up in the middle of the night but only recorded as they were laying back down. Notification when child woke up and ran out of the room in the morning but only recorded an empty room not even a blur of child. We are required to set max length to limit individual recordings (10s, 15s, etc). Therefore unfortunately if an event is longer than the max recording limit, it just stops recording the event. You wont be given a series of notifications and clips for the duration of the event.

This aspect though, draws minimally or greatly on the battery, depending on how you set up. It could last you months, or it could be drained in a week. My live video does go black screen for a second and then picks back up about every minute or so. Night vision is not bad up close, but depth is not the greatest. One of the Cons on this totally wireless camera is that there are only the last three hours of recorded events available whereas if you use an actual power cord, it will evidently continue to record and store if you choose. The other Nest indoor cameras were a good model aside from the yearly subscription fees. This product to me just seems like more of a glorified trail cam that requires WiFi and constant recharging. Going to purchase an aftermarket power cord for it to see if I like the performance any better. Three stars is the best I can give it at this point.

Great upgrade from my Xfinity cameras. I considered these because I am a Google user that has other Google Nest products on my home. The problem is that I had cameras from three different systems which means I had to go to three different apps to check any type of surveillance. My goal overall was to try to go to a single pane of glass meaning a single app for all of my surveillance inside and outside of my home. They had a benefit of going with the Google solution means that not only do I have a single pane of glass to surveil my entire property but it also integrates with my smoke detectors my doorbell my screens my television, lights, etc., so all of these things on a single app is beneficial and more efficient. This camera are sharp, the cloud device is great, and it integrates perfectly into my existing Google Home products. I also have Eufy cameras, which are better priced, but while they do integrate with Google Home, their integration is not as seamless. Also, one of the benefits of the new fees is the ability to record only to the base station. Issue here, is that the base station off and runs out of memory after you owned it for sometime so you tend to lose our travel footage. You can pay for cloud storage, but that is an added cost that brings it closer to in line with the Google offerings. Really caught a great deal of catching these open box. This really kicked the value option out of the park for me. This outdoor camera is great. Mounting can be tricky, make sure to take a few minutes to and plan out your mounting options. Dismounting to recharge is very easy, as it is held on with one of the strongest magnet is have ever seen for it's size. It is very secure. All of that said, I am running my with a solar panel. This is a lesson learned from other battery powered cameras I've owned. The benefit is that you can place them any and everywhere, but you have to climb a ladder every couple of months to dismount them and recharge the device. This. Gets. Old...solar panel are highly effective and I recommend this.
