English only. 3) Coming soon to Japan. Motion sense functional in the us, Canada, Singapore, Australia, Taiwan, and most European countries. Not all phone features are controlled by motion sense. 4) Us & Canada only. I own the Just Black style of the 64 GB Google Pixel 4 XL (there is a 128 GB internal storage device available at limited service providers). The screen is 6.3" x 3" with 1340 x 3040 screen resolution. The phone is light at only about 150 grams. The outward facing camera is a 16 Mega-pixel lens (The picture of the evergreen was a pic I took in my backyard with the phone as a demonstration of depth, shade, color, and texture of this camera). The selfie camera is 12.2 MP. The Pixel 4 XL runs off a 3400 mAh where the Pixel 4 only had 2700mAh. The battery charges using a 18w USB-C power adapter. The battery allows pass thru charging, meaning you can charge and use the device while charging, but it does depleted the life of the battery and it's longevity for each time. Believe me when I say it is a quick charge. It was an hour and 20 minutes from 1% to 100% by just letting it sit undisturbed. I am sure with age and use this time will increase. This device is TTY compatible. It is WiFi capable. It unlockable but check with the provider you wish to unlock the phone with before doing so. Some Pixels are not carried by all carriers. I switched after much deliberation. No regret with my new phone. The Google Assistant is not only triggered by swiping from the bottom right corner diagonally, but the redundant verbal 'OK Google' or 'Hey Google' is also available as well as a built in biometric that allows you to set and activate by squeezing the lower half of the phone at the sides. It does well to filter out your voice from background conversations by concentrating on your voice and speech patterns. All those parameters are set up when you are initializing your account and personalizing the phone. According to Google, "The Google Pixel 4 and the Pixel 4 XL both have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with 6GB of RAM. That gives them plenty of processing power to run the latest Android games and apps, and makes for seamless and swift multitasking." The real question is what does the Google Pixel 5 look like and will it be be coming out right on schedule for October 2020? Who knows. Stay tuned. Pixel 4 is running Android 10 with the latest update back in mid-May 2020. Some other cool features are the auto dimming and backlighting when entering different lighting from room to room or even going outside. The pro is this means not having to fuss with the back lighting to accommodate each room, though the manual option is still available to you in the pulldown 'functions and tools' bar. There are also power settings that alter lighting. The con about the lens is it was mounted in the phone just perfectly so when I am playing the phone turned sideways it tends to cast a shadow from my hand over the lens and it causes it to change in brightness. The phone without a case is dangerously slippery. It must be planted firmly flat fully on a flat surface without any tilt. This beauty will try to slip off any surface. Buy a case ASAP if at all possible. (I personally use OtterBox on my Pixel 4 XL.) It is a worthy investment to protect the phone. The screen does get oily from finger prints. I recommend people going and getting a screen protector if they are concerned about scratching from cleaning. I use eyeglass cleaner and the cloth provided with my glasses to clean it. I feel it has improved my life with scheduling, multitasking, photographing, news headlines in the morning, and send research on the go. According to Google, "Stereo speakers are... ...with Pixel 4, the loudspeaker hardware has shifted around a bit. Where the Pixel2 and 3 both had dual front-facing loudspeakers, the Pixel 4 XL has traded them in for a setup like the Pixel 3a's. All around this is a solid buy. It is a still in the market as a competing brand and style. I bought mine in April 2020. After having it the first 30 days I can now say I am happier.

The Google Pixel 4Xl 128Gb Black is one of my current phones. I had gotten it from Google Fi when I signed up for one of their phone plans for unlimited data and phone service. When I receive it I enjoyed it very much, it's the first time I got to use an OLED display capable of 4K video. Everything was going great until about 6 months in and my pixel's back panel had started coming off. The reason why was because the battery was bulging so much that it was popping the back panel off the phone. So, since it was still under warranty they were glad to replace it with a new one. So a day or two later the replacement arrives and I send off the old one after transferring everything over and erasing it's memory and drives. A couple months later Google Fi disconnect my account because they say my bill was overdue, but that was weird because I had been paying it. They said it was over $10,000 for ONE MONTH!!! I told them they were crazy and that they had made a mistake but they insisted, no matter who I spoke to, that it was correct and that I had to pay or else. SO, I told them fine, and now I don't have service on the phone but use it as a wifi only device and about a month later the back panel of the replacement phone started to come off as well and again because the batter was expanding so much it was pushing the panel away from the phone and so now I just use it without the panel on and it has been working fine ever since. Google still thinks I owe the outrageously high bill and now they are even saying that I had been paying that price the previous months and I told them NO, anyone in the right mind wouldn't pay that much unless they had a solid gold phone that could be used as a satellite phone and talk to the International Space Station. They showed me evidence that apparently either they were paying for it or they were charging someone else for it and then I would send in the amount I was told to pay at the end of the cycle, and they even showed me that every month they were charging me nearly $10k but for some reason I actually never paid that amount, but someone was. lol. Anyways, Google Fi and the Google Pixel 4 are the worst things I have ever had to use. Phones just manufactured shouldn't have to be replaced so soon after purchase because batteries shouldn't be bulging so soon after they are made.

Every Google product I have works SEAMLESSLY with my Pixel and the squeeze to activate Google Assistant is just amazing. I use it every day. I will definitely be upgrading to the 6 Pro soon, as I am a photography nut and the 6 Pro handles images better, but I love the 4XL so much that I'll be keeping it as a secondary phone/content storage. And with the fast charging built in, it's ready to go again in under an hour. Media-intesive tasks can take a toll on the battery, but all-in-all, the 4XL is a TROOPER. Definitely recommend the Pixel range as a whole, but the 4XL is definitely something special! Especially if you're not looking for the latest model, but want something that can play with the big boys. The 4XL is sure to impress!

This is my current phone, I got it in June after my Pixel 3a broke. The pixel lines of phones have served me very well. This phone has been a great upgrade from the 3a, it improves upon that generation in almost every way, it's more durable, it's betting processing, better camera, and better overall feel. Pros: 1. excellent camera quality, fantastic videos with 4k, timelapse, and stabilizing. 2. Very durable and high quality feel, I've dropped this a lot and no breaks or cracks anywhere with just a basic clear case. Has handled water but never submerged fully. 3. When you are close enough to a tower to get 5g the phone is incredibly fast and snappy, on 4g it's about the same as every phone. 4. I've had some issue with "crashing" where if I have too many apps open or switch too quickly it will go black and open back up on the lock screen. It's not powering off so just a quick error. Easily avoidable issue. 2. recording video can sometimes heat the phone up enough where it automatically lowers the quality of the recording.

I regret buying this phone. The ads on it made thr phone sound so good! But, the astrophotography feature is hard to use and there is a big caceat to getting it to work. That isnt something they explained in the manual and was something i had to look up myself on thd internet in different blogs. The night sight setting is just meh. The othef major problem with this phone is the battery life. It sucks!!! It wont even last for 1 day on a single charge with medium use. By medium use, i mean textint people, making phone calls, browsing, and a bit of streaming. I have an iphone i plus for work, and that phone is much much older, but with the same amount of usage the battery lasts 3 days on a single charge. Another stupid thing they put on this phone is the face unlock. I hated that feature from day one, and now with covid it is completely uselesd cuz i wear a mask when i go out. Fingerprint scan has always been and always will be the most convenient way to unlock the phone while on the go. The positives of this phone is that it let's you remove pretty much any app and doesnt come with a lot of stupid bloatware. I like how android works on this phone and the call blocking features of are really useful. It screens my calls and let'e easily block unknown numbers, numbers i dont have as a contact, or known spam numbers. Same thing with the Messages app where it is easy to block spam texts.

Like this phone but it doesn't last long at all. I started getting pixels when the 3 hit the market and optimistically speaking they were pretty nice. Unfortunately that niceness never lasted long. I've now been through 2 pixel 3s and now this phone and each and every one of them has had some sort of defect. The first pixel 3 had its audio suddenly stop working after no damage whatsoever. The second pixel 3 suddenly started having battery failure out of nowhere, again without damage. And now after switching to the 4 hoping it would be better I'm yet again experiencing battery failure. Now I have to deal with battery failure that requires to be plugged in 24/7, screen flickering, back cam not working, and all buttons ceasing to work at one point or another. I have done nothing but be careful with my devices and still I've had failure after failure after failure on Pixel devices. Do not buy if you like longevity, or if you do buy, hope your experience isn't as dogshit as mine. I am completely fed up with Pixels and tired of the only solution being to wipe my entire phone. For a multibillion dollar company Google sure knows how to make a phone with a lot of stuff wrong with it

Google Pixel Series still a work in progress. 💁🏻‍♂️

I've been an Android user almost since inception. In the beginning, Google's hardware of choice was Motorola. Google has been a step or two behind Motorola since they began making their own hardware. The Google Pixel 4XL is defined by what it doesn't have. No 3.5mm earphone Jack. No microSD card reader. No FM radio. And no 5,000 mAh battery. Obviously, no micro HDMI port.As a Google branded device, It runs the latest non-bloatware version of the Android OS, which is great. We'll get to that in a minute. Not having all of these hardware basics, means Google is in effect, FORCING you to subscribe to their "cloud services" — such as Google Drive and Google Photos. This is a recurring cost to you, and something you must pencil into your budget. It also means you must have external Google hardware, such as Google Chromecast — in order for your mobile device to communicate with your television and other home theater devices. The bottom line, is Google is adopting the Apple business model when it comes to their Google-branded Android phones. Their hardware devices are only on the cutting edge of technology in terms of the Internet. The Google Pixel advantage is primarily having "first dibs" on the latest OS and other software updates. And now for the pluses. The Google Pixel 4XL's 6.3" screen is amazing! It's large enough to do serious movie watching, video editing or word processing — and the P-OLED display cycling at 90hz is clear and vibrant.I've taken a vow to avoid gaming on my phone, after Real Racing 3 gave me a severe case of "trigger finger" which required hand therapy. So no review of this phone for that activity. The phone itself is a great multi-tasker, due to its Snapdragon processor and 6GB of RAM — all being maximized for efficiency by the Android 11 OS. It's obviously designed to handle Android Auto with ease, including shuffling through your music library — while providing you alternative routes when traffic gridlock and other road hazards occur.Phone calls and text messages come in without issue, and can be answered and played, respectively via voice command. The transition from Google Play Music to YouTube Music was a rocky one — but that could be said about nearly all Android devices. The 12.2 MP camera takes beautiful photos — including panoramic and 360˚ views. Photos can be had in both 4:3 and 16:9 HD aspect ratios. Video is excellent in both day and night lighting conditions. The time-elapse video function is great if you have a lot of patience. Only the slowest time-elapse rate will produce outstanding results.I wish I could close this review on a positive note, but as of this writing, my Google Pixel 4XL is a brick. After a year of use, my device succumbed to what has been billed by Google as a "known issue."The battery meter on the Google Pixel 4XL is prone to malfunction — meaning the handset can no longer determine how much (or how little) your battery is charged. This means you must PERMANENTLY carry an external battery attached to your phone until you can address this issue with Google's prescribed "fix" (sending it back to Google for engineering magic). Some users have claimed to fix this issue on their own with a hard reset of their phone. This wasn't an option for me, as I had too much data in multiple applications to back up.In any event, my Pixel XL finally stopped working before I could address the battery meter issue. I wrote this review on a Motorola One 5G Ace.

Google's Pixel 4 XL Is A Slam Dunk in the Mobile World!

The Google Pixel 4 XL 128GB surely is a staple in the mobile phone world, Google's persistence and keeping it simple makes setup a snap, I migrated from the Google Pixel 2 XL 128GB without any delays aside from 2 apps being unsupported in data backup via PC (app developers' fault.) It is a fast phone with a lot of user features, I love the simplicity of the facial recognition. I first thought early on that removing the fingerprint scanner would grow dislike on my end, but turns out that Google's facial recognition A.I. is reliable, no more sweaty finger prints when leaving the gym or ineligible prints on a cold day. The camera is a solid 6.5 out of 10, there's room for improvements, compared to Samsung's flagship S20 models and wide photographs, Google is behind. I would hope they compete within the next 2-4 years throughout that arena. Another fault is the limited storage options. Along with better cameras, comes larger storage usage - we need more capacity options. For protection, I recommend the vCommute case along with Zagg's tempered glass (anti-bacterial) screen protector.) Last worthy mention: We're still waiting for the Pixel Earbuds, WearOS is doing solid paired with Android, shoutout to @Fossil for the upgraded Gen 5! This device is an easy win for me.

Wishing I went with Samsung!
7 August 2023

I am not a fan of Google Pixel 4. You are not able to customize ring tones for messages separate from email or other notifications. There is less flexibility in accessing and customizing features in apps. The charger is not able to be connected to USB without purchasing separate charging block and cord. It has no jack for headphones. After six months the phone battery began to overheat and the phone would not hold a charge. Google won't honor the one year warranty and told me I had to go through the seller. Walmart only has a 90 day warranty and the seller only has a 45 day warranty! I so wish I had gone with a Samsung phone! I guess we learn from our mistakes!

Had my google pixel 4xl from backmarket (pretty reputable) , phone came in good condition and my network Metro has never gave me any issues. but as soon as i got the Pixel my network has been dropping and i usually sit at 1-3 bars (3 on a good day it NEVER hit 4 bars ), calls has been dropping and when i am out my phone is straight silent. i can only ever recieve calls in the house mainly since thats where reception is strongest .. its like the antenna is completely busted and got worst when i dropped it a few times which never has been a issue with my other phones and never once did it affect their phone quality. No headphone jack is a pain but i guess nowadays everything is digitalized. PROS: Good Screen & Camera Qualityit can handle mobile games pretty well ... MoreHad my google pixel 4xl from backmarket (pretty reputable) , phone came in good condition and my network Metro has never gave me any issues. but as soon as i got the Pixel my network has been dropping and i usually sit at 1-3 bars (3 on a good day it NEVER hit 4 bars ), calls has been dropping and when i am out my phone is straight silent. i can only ever recieve calls in the house mainly since thats where reception is strongest .. its like the antenna is completely busted and got worst when i dropped it a few times which never has been a issue with my other phones and never once did it affect their phone quality. No headphone jack is a pain but i guess nowadays everything is digitalized.
