I'm here to tell you that is dead wrong. Pokemon go is about the only thing that runs well. Good luck getting any sort of performance out of any other game before the phone becomes too hot to hold and automatically throttles down your hardware. Away from home and want to do your dailies on Genshin Impact? You might as well be playing Myst with the frame rate you'll get. Wanna click some heads in COD mobile? Screen is too hot and throttling has the input lag up way too high to do anything.I can't tell if it's a problem of software not being able to utilize hardware, or of hardware just sucking, but either way the custom chipset is a terrible experience for me. Along with this, battery life has (of course) diminished to the point of needing to charge my phone several times throughout the day (in part because I turned off the "battery helper" that was additionally throttling my device in an effort to prove that it could last through the day on a single charge).To top it off, the phone now sounds like there is something loose inside of it, and there are dozens of micro scratches on the screen just from taking the phone out of pockets. Apps frequently crash/freeze/the OS needs to reboot to fix itself. I doubt the pixel 7 will be much different, but overall this phone has just hit me with the blandest feelings possible. The only thing I would actively recommend the phone for is Google being able to answer spam calls on your behalf, but I don't even know if that feature is available in other manu's phones. Otherwise, it's business as usual and nothing spectacular to write home about.

The internal antenna seems to pick up a bar more of reception than my note 20 on average.All in all, s pen function excluded, it does everything my note 20 does but slightly better.Google has officially put its name in the top contender list with this rendition and the Pixel 7 looks to be even a notch better.

I've had my Google Pixel 6 Pro for about 3 weeks. I was ecstatic to finally own a Pixel, because I've heard nothing but great things about them and couldn't wait to see for myself. Upon unboxing my new phone, I noticed it's very slick and definitely needed a case, to prevent it from slipping out of my hands. The Dark Grey color of this phone is absolutely gorgeous and one of my favorite colors. I really like the big screen size, but am not too fond of the curved edges.The initial setup was simple and didn't take much time to complete. I simply plugged in a USB cord, from one phone to the other and followed the instructions on the screen.I use my phone for everything, from family to work and I was always running out of space. The fast speed on this Pixel, makes work so much easier and I'm now able to complete tasks, in record time!As for online shopping, which I do a lot of. The Google Pixel 6 Pro does Not meet my needs. When I use my shopping app, it opens to the product just fine, but once I change size or color, I can no longer add the item to my cart. Half of my Google links wont even open, unless I сору and paste them in a messaging app and it's not just the link, because I have no issues opening them on my other devices. Both of these issues are fixed with each update, but they're only fixed temporarily and for a short period of time. One of the main reasons I was excited about owning this phone is, the long battery life. Unfortunately the battery doesn't last as long as it should. Like I stated before, I use my phone for work and I'm not even able to get in a full day's work, before I have to stop and charge it, for nearly 3 hours.Unfortunately there are more cons! I don't mind my phone having Google assistant on it, it's actually quite convenient. My issue is the assistant taking the place of what should be the power button. It took me 5 minutes to figure out that I needed to hold down the assistant button and volume up, to power off the phone, due to it over heating. Yes, this phone overheats and it overheats quickly, with simple things like reading emails or messages. I honestly hope that most of or all of these issues can be fixed, because the Google Pixel 6 Pro has a lot of potential to be a really great phone!

I should start this off by saying that I or my wife have owned the Nexus (pre-Pixel), Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 3, Pixel 4a 5G and the Pixel 5 5G. All of those phone have been pretty darn good from the hardware side (screen, battery life, etc.), and they have all been FANTASTIC from the software side. This phone is no different.Jumping into the software first-- I love the pixel lineup because they are straight from Google without any extra bloatware on them from the phone company. The Android operating system is not modified, so you get security updates immediately-- you don't have to wait 3-6 months for the phone manufacturer to tweak them and finally send them out to you. This runs the latest Android (and will receive updates for a few more years). The interface ... If you aren't heavy into gaming and screen usage (you're just surfing the web, texting, browsing social media, etc.), then you'll go to bed with 30-40% still left. if you are a heavy mobile gamer, etc. then I expect it'll be a much shorter battery life. That being said, this does charge via USB-C, so if you have one of the better (higher wattage and more expensive) chargers, then this will rapid charge swiftly.From there, the screen is sharp, clear, and usable in bright sunlight. It also dims considerably on the low end so you're not blinded as you browse in bed. The screen does curve down the edges of the phone, which looks pretty cool, but doesn't add a lot of function.The camera is great as well. it has a couple of camera on the back-- from a wide angle lens to a 4x telephoto lens. The pictures have good colors, are sharp, and are just as good as every other cell phone on the market I've used lately. Will it beat a big DSLR? No, but it's more than adequate for prints, social media, etc.The main things I don't like about this phone are:1) The finger print scanner is now on the front (through the screen, you can't even see it). It works well, but about 1 in 3 times I have to scan my thumb twice. The older Pixels with the scanner on the back were slightly quicker and more accurate and you could find them without looking. This one you have to look down at the screen to see where to place your finger.2) The camera bar on the back projects from the phone. It's not a big deal, but it's not a smooth, flat surface3) The curved screen looks great and I like it-- but it makes finding screen protectors difficult. The hard (tempered glass ones) are pricey and prone to breaking easy because it's hard to manufacture a curved piece of glass. So, I'm currently using a ebdnable plastic one that adheres to the screen. Works great, but I would feel better if it was a hard protector.4) The screen size is large and it's hard to swipe down from the top if you're only using one hand.That's really about it. There are some far more detailed review out there if you really want to nerd out on this phone, but overall I would recommend it in a heartbeat unless you have small hands or hate big screens. The software/operating system is a joy to use (even compared to other Android systems-- coming straight from Google it is so refined), the hardware is great as well. Bright screen, good camera, haven't had any issues with 5G or wifi reception. it does have some minor annoyances, but they are just that-- minor. For my needs, this phone is a solid 5 stars.

The phone's processing speed in my opinion is the best I've ever had. Absolutely no issue switching between apps and having multiple things working at once. The battery life is decent, lasts me most of the day on my busiest days, outperforming my old phone by about 25 percent. There is no headphone jack, which I do personally miss, however that seems to be the way all phones are nowadays and just something I'll have to get used to. Also not having expandable memory is a bit of a bummer, so if you like to download a lot or like to record/photograph you might have to lose something to accommodate your needs. The biggest positive this phone has though, is it's camera. The powerful camera takes some of the most beautiful pictures I've ever taken with a phone. The Pixel also has some of the best included editing tools on the market. Motion Mode is fun to play with, and the 20x zoom is impressive. My favorite is the Magic Eraser that can save a great photo by eliminating a pesky problem with ease. Video is also great, allowing you the ability to record live in 4k, looking incredible. There are also built-in tools for video as well, which help to lessen background noise and put more emphasis on the person being recorded so they sound clear even while walking down a busy street. All around one of the best camera experiences I've had. Honestly couldn't be happier with my first exposure to the Pixel world, with the very minor issues I've had being mostly personal preference things I can easily look past.

It's very frustrating.I paid $1,100 for this phone and would strongly advise against buying a Google phone. I see that the new pixel 7 is out and I would not recommend buying it. Based on my previous experience, I would go with a different name brand of Android phone like Samsung or Motorola or one of the other good manufacturers.Also, the hardware on this phone is not as good as my previous phones. The specification shows that this phone is supposed to be waterproof but if you make a claim they will ask you if it has been exposed to water and tell you that they do not guarantee it's waterproof! Contrast that with any of the iPhones which are specified to be waterproof and in fact you see people putting them underwater and taking videos!Okay, on the plus side, the display is large, and high-resolution, the colors are good and bright. Although, even with that, the wrap-around edges of the display are annoying because the curved glass distorts the image at the sides of that nice wide display, so that in fact not all of that nice bid display is really useful! Another poor design choice by Google. I would not recommend a phone with this type of display with a curved wrap around edges. Try before you buy.

I avoided Samsung because of the bloatware and didn't want to lock myself down to a largely uncustomisable device like an iPhone.The biggest failures are where software meets hardware. I love the camera, color is great, speakers sound good, battery life is decent, and despite the back being ridiculously slick to the point just holding it causes it to be easily dropped without a case, the form factor fits nice in the hand with a case and the camera strip on the back helps it sit flat on its back with no wobble or sliding around. But it's the random fps drops, sluggish fingerprint read, and other OS level software bugs and glitches that remove it from flagship competition.And finally, the rage-inducing failure of the adaptive brightness which has caused me to write this review. With no ambient light changes, the phone will brighten and darken with such uncontrollable sensitivity and to such a dynamic difference that it's clear the phone doesn't appropriately gauge the ambient light correctly at all. The only problem is with adaptive brightness failure, it's on you to adjust the brightness every time you go inside or outside. Mid-tier HTC phones were doing this correctly 15 years ago, there's really no excuse anymore. So just like MKBHD has recently reviewed in a Pixel phone follow-up video, I've been so put off by this feature that the device is worth abandoning, and I'll find myself heading to a Samsung device for the first time since the Galaxy S4.
