Going into my second week with the Pixel 7, all I can say is avoid it. After wasting countless hours trying to get it setup and working, while troubleshooting nearly every aspect of it, only to have much of that hard work undone almost daily or a couple times per day is frustrating. So what's wrong with the Pixel 7? There's things that are terrible that will never get fixed, such as the useless fingerprint sensor, the poorly positioned volume buttons and the crummy audio, to things that should work and don't or you can get to work occasionally and then they break, such as the gestures, Google Assistant, Gboard and camera. Throughout my time with the Pixel 7, I've had it almost working in a stable fashion, got excited and bought a case... Then it starts failing and I go through hours of troubleshooting to get it working again, get excited because I think it's stable for I buy a screen protector, then of course it gets all weird and I spend more time troubleshooting and tinkering, only to think that SURELY NOW IT'S STABLE, so I order up a charger, and of course it stops working properly again. It's behind in the performance department but it's fast enough for regular use, but the glitchiness and bugs are infuriating. The only people I would recommend this phone to are Android junkies that live for fixing and tweaking their phone. For people who just need a phone to work as intended, this isn't it. Now my completely reliable and usable Motorola I traded in for this beta pseudo phone, is somewhere in the black hole of Verizon's return department in Texas, never to be seen again, so I've got to try and return the Pixel, but my old phone is gone and I'm now in need of a stable working phone, so I'll likely be on ebay looking for something older and more reliable with a real fingerprint sensor, or trying to switch over to the Apple ecosystem and use an old iPhone 8 I've got sitting around. Ugh

I bought this device because I had read it has one the best cameras on a smartphone, and a more pure version of Android. Well the user interface is definitely stripped down, maybe a bit more than I was hoping for. I am missing some of the features I had on my Samsung, like audio equalizer, video editor with compression settings, and more user-selectable camera settings. The camera produces decent photos in automatic modes, but lacks user-controlled pro-type setting options. The fingerprint reader works approximately 60% of the time, although I have tried every suggestion I can find to make read more accurately. It does not work when my skin is dry, which is most of the time. My old Samsung's fingerprint reader worked almost every time. One other annoying issue, is ... My wife has Samsung S21 Ultra, with not enough storage, but a far better camera. Most likely, I will go back to Samsung when I can afford to get rid of my Pixel 7 Pro.

Battery has yet to be determined on the Pixel, but from a full charge, I'm down to 56% after 2 hours of use, so I doubt it'll come close to the 2 to 3 days the G power lasts. Battery aside, I'll say the Pixel 7 is faster, (3 times faster according to the geek bench score I got).l, I'm anticipating the camera will be better, the screen should be brighter outdoors and Google assistant seems a little more predictable and quicker, and I like the new theme colors that automatically match the wallpaper I select. Those are the only advantages I've found so far. The Pixel is a little narrower which will take some getting used to. The disadvantages of the Pixel are glaringly obvious compared to the Moto G Power 2020 unfortunately. The main ones I'll mention for those Motorola users who are considering this change are: No Moto Actions... I absolutely love moto Actions because I can turn on the camera and the flashlight easily, as well as use the 3 finger screenshot. If you're a Moto user be ready for some serious clunkiness for those frequently used features you'll not have with the Pixel. Perhaps the biggest problem is where they decided to put the volume buttons on the Pixel, almost dead center on the phone under the power button. Not sure how I'll mount the Pixel in my phone holder in the car due to that. The second biggest design blunder of the Pixel is the fingerprint sensor is in the screen and works like garbage. The 2020 g power had it on the back, it was easy, consistent, and quick. The Pixel may as well not even have a bio unlock, you'll be regressing to using a PIN, or the face unlock which is hit or miss and certainly won't work in the dark like a fingerprint sensor does. The audio sound is okay on the pixel, perhaps not as high volume as the Motorola but it has a nicer quality, although nothing like an iPhone. The stereo speakers are both on the bottom on the pixel, which is a step backwards from the moto g power which has a speaker on the bottom and the top. Lastly the new pixel has a Google assistant search bar widget that cannot be removed from the home screen and is in the worst possible place at the bottom of the screen, so expect plenty of accidental assistant launches that you cannot disable. Needless to say I'll certainly miss all those great aspects of the moto g power now that I've got the Pixel 7. What I'm looking forward to is a speedier experience overall and hopefully some of the funky glitchy things that plague the moto g power like the slow and sometimes unresponsive auto rotate display, the Google assistant while locked, (never worked on the moto g power but seems to work fine on the pixel), and I'm hoping some of Google's features like driving mode will work a little better on the pixel but I've yet to try them. This is an early review, and comparing the two phones isn't exactly fair because the Motorola G Power 2020 was a very purpose built phone compared to a fancy flagship phone. I'm still a little apprehensive about the switch, but hoping to get past it.

I'm no tech expert, but I do know what I like and don't like in a phone, and I need a phone that takes good photos since I rely on it solely as my camera. The Google Pixel 7 fits the bill well for the cost of $599 (lower than my Galaxy S21) and is pretty impressive for the pricepoint.I'm historically a Samsung user so this is my first Google phone. Basic functions, like trying to go 'back' to a page or screen can take some getting used to, but after a day or two it's second nature. Google provides lots of helpful tutorials and links via email to helpful how to videos to get you started (should you need it). Google provides lots of helpful tutorials and links via email to helpful how to videos to get you started (should you need it). Startup is fairly smooth and simple, and overall operation of the phone is very intuitive. The design of the phone is really sleek and has a high end feel with the back glass panel and metal camera frame. My complaint here is that depending on the type of case you get, the camera 'block' can get in the way of wireless charging if it stands the back of your phone too far away from the charger.Battery life is just average in my opinion. You'll need a charge by night after medium to heavy use, but I'm used to this.Camera is really great, no suprise given Google's reputation for a good camera. I will say I still like my s21's camera better, so if that's a driving factor I might upgrade to the Pixel 7 Pro. The basic 7 takes really clear and sharp photos that are more true in color to real life settings; I can especially see a difference in night mode vs my S21. Camera interface and the time it takes inbetween shots seems a little sluggish, but maybe I'm due for a software upgrade (the Pixel is so scheduled to be the first to get Android updates at least for a few years, so I have read). It includes some nice editing features that are fun to play around with. My complaints for camera are no macro mode for super up close shots, and the wide angle lens isn't quite as wide as my previous phone. The geosphere (360 degree) photo setting is definitely fun to play around with though, and not something I've seen yet on other phones.Overall, the Pixel 7 definitely delivers at a mid range cost. Great, sharp camera with lots of features, sophisticated design and smooth , intuitive operating system. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone not wanting to spend $800+ on a good smartphone.
I really like the new Google Pixel 7 Pro. I think it's Google's best attempt at making a flagship phone yet. There are pros and cons but I think if you're in the market for an android phone that isn't a Samsung then I'd recommend the google pixel 7Pros:Big screen with a crystal clear display. Integrates super well across all the different google apps (youtube, maps, gmail, photos, etc). If you're heavy into the google ecosystem I think this phone will pair much better than a Samsung or Motorola would. It has a beautiful UI design. It definitely stands out from Apple or Samsung without burdening the phone with a super heavy UI interface.Cons:Its a super slippery phone. I think I'm one of the few people on earth that actually prefers to use my phone without a case (I like having the full phone experience the way its intended) and because of the smooth glass back and metal sides its really really slippery and hard to hold. Especially since the pro version is much bigger I sometimes hold the phone with two hands. I did end up buying a case for it which helps but like I said I like experiencing the phone without a case. My work phone is an apple and I don't have the same issue. Hopefully for the next Pixel 8 they'll switch the materials to be more hands-friendly. Plus since the back of the phone is glass its a fingerprint magnet. It still has some bugs and hiccups. I can understand that since its a new google phone and google didn't have much turnaround time to perfect any bugs that the pixel 6 had. but as of today with a couple of updates I've noticed less bugs so the good news is that the phone is continuously getting betterThe fingerprint scanner works great (it even shines a light to make sure it reads your fingerprint correctly) but its facial recognition lacks compared to Iphone. The pixel basically uses its camera to compare you face to a regular picture of you whereas the iphone uses lasers and sensors to map your face. I think its more secure and more accurate especially if you sometimes wear glasses or have a facemask on or occasionally wear a beard. All in all I think the Pixel 7 is a great phone. Hopefully the next Pixel 8 will feature more hardware upgrades (especially the materials the phone uses and how the phone holds in hand). If you actively rely on google products and you're a little tired of Samsung being the only brand with good android phones, I think the Pixel 7 pro should be your next phone.
This is my first Google phone and I am very pleased. The camera was my selling point and it meets all and more of expectations, and look forward to seeing everything it can do. Magic eraser, super cool. You scribble on what you want gone and poof, all gone. Out of the box and just starting, it starts with a weird swipe this way to close a program or swipe this way to go back, but fiddle with the settings to go back to the tried and true three button navigation on the bottom. Sound quality is great, talking to someone I put on speakerphone, they said they could only hear me and no background noise. I had a phone case put on it immediately, but I haven't dropped it yet, so I couldn't tell you how rugged it can be. There are quick actions that are customizable. I made ... I had a phone case put on it immediately, but I haven't dropped it yet, so I couldn't tell you how rugged it can be. There are quick actions that are customizable. I made mine so I hit the power button twice and it turns on the camera, and there is a customizable double tap the back. Mine is turn on the flashlight. I think my phone case might interfere with that function, but I am getting the hang of it and it gets easier. My service area is quite rural, so I don't get great service, sometimes just LTE. I've made only 2 calls but neither have dropped yet. Wireless charging, yes. Battery life has been great, social media and games almost all day and I've never seen it get to 40% battery. I wish I could make my home screen just like my last phone, and it's 95% just like it, but you see that google search bar at the bottom of the screen? Yeah, that don't move. Speaking of Google, it works wonderfully with my home setup from the lock screen. I can control my lights and thermostat without even unlocking my phone. I got the 512 gig storage and so I know I will be downloading movies and music with room to spare, because there is no removable storage option. Excited about the prospect of a new phone and the possibilities and potential this phone has.
I got this phone over two weeks ago and have truly been impressed by everything from the screen resolution, responsiveness of the OS, image quality and image editing features, and the uniqueness of the design of the device. You can read all the reviews online about the features in more depth and detail but I have to say this phone hits the spot. The image quality is remarkable. Even better is the ability to edit photos after the fact by adding a portrait blur, unblurring images, or using the magic eraser. The magic eraser is probably one of the coolest photo editing features I've experienced in a while. You simply circle/highlight the area of an existing photo you want removed and voila, it's gone! Additionally, the unblur feature is really neat too. If your hands aren't steady and the image seems blurry or distorted - you can "unblur" the photo, which also works surprisingly well. I also haven't used Android OS since it's infancy and am truly impressed with how snappy and responsive this phone is when opening/closing apps or changing pages on your home screen, etc. The OS is uncluttered and visually attractive. The Pixel 7 Pro is also devoid of any bloatware that carriers or manufacturers may add to other devices. The screen itself is remarkably clear and bright and doesn't ghost. The response time of the screen may be less than some other devices, but it was plenty fine for me. There are reviews talking about how the battery is unimpressive - I'm not sure what those reviewers were doing but if you use your phone for work (e.g., Outlook, Teams) and personal (e.g., Instagram, Reddit, texting) - I can tell you I get about 18-20 hours of life before needing to charge it. Also another cool set of features is how you unlock the phone - you can set it up to recognize your face or if you're wearing a mask or something you can also use the under screen fingerprint reader. Both ways of unlocking your phone are fast and I find it convenient to be able to use the finger print reader as I travel often and sometimes that requires wearing a mask. Overall, I've truly been impressed by this phone. I tried hard to think of something negative to say since everything above is so positive but I couldn't think of any complaints. I truly enjoy using this phone and recommend it highly to anyone in the market for a phone that is feature rich that will bring some enjoyment to your life in an area that's been stagnant for some time.
First bought this upgrade, traded my Motorola 5G UW in and when I had went through the trade I left with both my phone and the new pixel 7 pro in order to transfer accounts that the phone only has in notes that was accessible thru that exact phone and sim. So I get it home open the box to find a deep scratch in the primary screen because "na I'm good on a screen protector for now it has durable gorilla glass, right?" I asked, "yeah I believe so." No.... No it doesn't. Very easy to scratch surface I guess because this scratch was not there at the store and put back in the box as it came. Open it. It's scratched really deep from the fingerprint to the right side of the phone screen waterfall. I was definitely kicking myself for not getting that screen protector for ... It's scratched really deep from the fingerprint to the right side of the phone screen waterfall. I was definitely kicking myself for not getting that screen protector for $50 and then $10 every time it breaks. But let me tell you that screen protector the day put on ain't worth a dang even if it is replaced for $10. It ain't worth the $10 you pay for it by you, one from a stronger company because it's super thin and as soon as you tap it on anything it cracks. But the phone itself has been working great after the first phone I traded in in which I only traded it in due to the phone having issues loading. I had to hard reset it 3 times in 5 days from brand new. Yes brand new. Definitely had to have internal driver issues or something. This phone im on now I've had no problem with other than getting a screen protector for it the glass protector and it breaking that same day from pressure in my pocket at work walking around. Just thin glass compared to the one I ordered on Amazon. (Warranty for screen protector not working pays for your phone screen through company's warranty policy) but all in all the pixel 7 pro deserves a decent rating just for the fast processing. The signals are a bit sketchy sometimes. Stops you from making a purchase if you don't have good connection. That can be bad if you're doing day trades in options or stocks. 😅

The Pixel 7 Pro photo and camera features are super impressive (an happen to be, one of My favorite features). The camera is the most advanced to date, (with offering the Tripple Camera System Telephoto & Wide Lens), an takes the best quality photo’s and video’s, to date from a pixel!I love that the triple camera system captures photos from a distance with the 5x telephoto lens and up to 30x Super Res zoom. Night Sight Captures starry skies and even portraits in low light with Night Sight. Of course, the Cinematic Blur option offers more of a dramatic video quality. The Macro Focus (is only available on Pixel 7 Pro), makes even the tiniest subjects look extraordinary.Real Tone represents the nuances of more skin tones beautifully, authentically, and more accurately. An the Magic Eraser removes distractions in just a tap.Whether You are looking to update or upgrade Your phone, I really recommend the Google 7 Pro! It’s a durable, well thought out designed phone, with excellent, super fast 5G technology, amazing high quality camera/video features, top of the line with IP68 protection, to survive if dropped in clean water (up to a depth of 6 meters, for up to 30 minutes). The Live Translate- allows You to interpret face-to-face conversations in 48 languages, chat in real time. Now, let’s talk protection, Google is looking out for their Customers with the Titan M2 chip and the Google Tensor security core protection. First, you need to know - I do not own any Apple products. Not one. Nor do I intend to. Apple products just do not talk to the business world as well as products built on - or intended to talk to - Microsoft platforms. My last two phones were Motorola, and I liked them very much. Buuttt...online how-tos (like YouTube videos) are not geared for the way Motorola organizes its phones. After breaking the screen on my almost 4-year-old phone (which I accomplished even with a screen protector and a phone case), I decided it was time to upgrade the ol' technology instead of fixing the screen. I fully intended to buy a Motorola phone, as that has worked well for me in the past - but the Verizon rep suggested I look at the Google Pixel phones. A phone made by Google? Meh... ... I fully intended to buy a Motorola phone, as that has worked well for me in the past - but the Verizon rep suggested I look at the Google Pixel phones. A phone made by Google? Meh... Except...I work across Google suite all day long. I have to touch something Google for everything I do, and my phone is an integral part of my work day - and the Google Pixel 7 is designed to work in that world seamlessly. So far, with a few hiccups in learning the slightly different ways to navigate this phone, the experience has been positive and I'm happy I took a chance on a Google phone. Supposedly the camera and its software are super awesome - I haven't had a chance to mess with that too much, yet. - But what is awesome is that this phone talks to everything I do in my work world, and it does it better than my old Motorola. Transferring files and apps was a snap, and my phone talks to my Chromebook like they were old buddies - but the best part about moving to a Google phone? When it's time to upgrade or replace again, I'll just buy another Google phone and forgo having to learn the different ways a Motorola or Samsung phone talks to the Google suite. I really think that's the best thing about these phones - they are designed to talk to the software you work in. Pretty smart of Google, because as far as I can tell right now, I've bought my last Motorola and will probably buy Google phones for good. P.S. - I only gave this phone a four because it took me a couple days to figure the navigation out, and weirdly, the phone is so slick - and I mean the exterior casing is so smooth and slick that you HAVE to put a case on it. Otherwise, it literally slides off surfaces. If I could have, I would have given it a 4.75.
