Brilliant jacket.

I bought this jacket for mountain biking. Originally, I was using a running jacket that had a hood but the this was quite baggy and the hood kept flapping about which was really annoying. I decided to buy the Paclite jacket as I had read and heard positive reviews. The Paclite jacket is simply brilliant. It is fitted (but not tight) so there is no flapping or excess material and it doesn't have a hood which is what I wanted so no hood flapping around either.I wore it last weekend in Afan Forest, Neath during a full days rain and it was excellent. It breather well yet didn't leak whatsoever and i didn't get too hot. The zips are watertight and the slightly longer back protects the lower back and bum from getting wet and muddy.I'm an athletic build 5ft 10in weighing ... MoreI bought this jacket for mountain biking. Excellent jacket to replace my 10yr old one

Great jacket. Bought it to replace my previous one which was 10 years old. The previous jacket was still good, it's just I wanted one slightly bigger to fit some layers underneath for winter, and I wanted one that was black. I bought the previous one as an emergency purchase when I was caught out in a rainstorm. It packs up really small so it's always ready in my rucksack in case of a downpour. One slight niggle - a couple of front pockets for phone, keys would be nice.

I took some time choosing this jacket over the Gore-Tex Torrent or Shake-Dry for a couple reasons. I wanted a basic waterproof jacket even though I value the ability to stow a jacket during the ride as the Shake-Dry will do. The Torrent jacket seems quite similar, only slightly more expensive. In the end all I really wanted was something waterproof and not too baggy, I have done a number of rides in every kind of wet and this jacket does the job. It will keep you warm and dry with a single long sleeve layer in 40 degree rain and can be stuffed in a pocket (more or less) if it gets sunny. Sleeves are plenty long enough with Velcro closures for over or under gloves. Right entry rear pocket is fine but zip chest pocket is better for grabbing a gel or bar without ... MoreI took some time choosing this jacket over the Gore-Tex Torrent or Shake-Dry for a couple reasons. I bought a Small I exchanged that for an XS and still have ample room for layering. I can wear this guy from mid 50's to sub freezing and be comfortable so I consider it a great piece bang-for-the-buck-wise.

Great GT Paklite Jacket for cycling
18 December 2021

I was hesitated due to the confused sizing. Read quite a lot of reviews in terms of sizing everywhere on the web. Eventually realized that it is usually advertized as European sizing on the web. US sizing is one size down on Gore's cycling clothes. I am 178cm/5'10" tall and 72kg/162lbs. It's "active fit" is straight and it doesn't fit like "slim", "trim" or "tight" fittings. It fits perfectly on my slightly tall and regular shape Asian body. Went ahead and bought an EU large. With usual great GT Paclite fabric quality. Seamseal looks perfect as well. Packed really small to be able to fit into my cycling jersey's back pockets.I have yet to try it under the rain. I will expect it to work like my Arcteryx GT Paclite emergency jacket as well.

Great service, good jacket
29 October 2023

I purchased this in the hope sweat build up would be minimal. It's certainly better than an old Rapha rain jacket i had but my inner jersey was still damp. Fit is reasonably generous but probably not to the point to size down. So i'd say this is a good rather than great jacket but the price and service from Sigma was great.

Lightweight goretex cycling jacket

Great coat re waterproofing, breathable and colour. Enough room to wear more layers. Very light. Only drawback is the fragility of the fabric… but that is the pay off re its qualities as a lightweight jacket.

Very good jacket. Light weight and packs up small. I'm usually a medium and bought size EU L / US M which is about right for cycling as does not flap. Would go up a size if using for walking.

Paclite Jacket
20 July 2024

Initially, I purchased the wrong size -- my error. I contacted customer service and they issued an RMA without any hesitation. I reordered the correct size and they still gave me the discounted sales price even though the sale was over. The medium size fits fine over a base layer and a thermo jersey, just like the ad said it would. I feels comfortable and I really like the zippered chest pocket. It's July, so too early to actually wear it on a ride

Very comfortable lightweight jacket. (Red M)
14 September 2022

I purchased this jacket after having ,seen one on a cycling friend. I chose a n EU size M jacket according to the size chart. I am so pleased that I did. The size M fits me extremely well. I am 170cm tall, weigh 66kg and have a form fit. The jacket has so far worked very well in light showers and protects well from a cold headwind. The construction seems solid and well made and I expect that the jacker will work well in heavier rain when I encounter it.

Very waterproof and windproof

Tried my new Jacket for the first time today, I cycled for 90 minutes in light to heavy rain and arrived back home dry as bone. The jacket not only kept the rain out but also I did not get hot and sweaty. Overall I am really really impressed and so pleased with the Jacket.
