Whilst in the ‘budget’ range, the quality of this attic ladder is good. The sturdy & rigid insulated door was the best selling point for me & there’s no screws or bolts showing through. It looks neat & tidy with no strap hanging down. The other budget models seemed too flimsy on the door structure with bolt heads showing through. Ok for a garage setting, I guess, but not for inside the house. I did find the instruction sheet a bit lacking in detail, but there are so many YouTube video’s out there it’s easy enough to figure out for a DIY’er. A trim kit would have been nice, but not a big issue, I just made one up myself. When you unlock it, it opens about 200mm against spring pressure & you pull it down from there & unfold the ladder. I’m very pleased with the result.

Having compared the other Brands to the Gorilla Atric Ladder the quality of the closed ladder was a neater finish when closed. No dangling string and the panel quality was much better than the cheap particle board of the others.

I was climbing up the ladder to check how much space I had in the ceiling. I was about half way up with my head in line with the opening when without warning, the right side leg snapped. I fell from height onto my right side. Despite severe bruising and a very sore ankle I was ok.This ladder is rated 150kg. I am about 2/3 of that. Please discontinue this product, it is dangerous. Needless to see I want an equivalent replacement and my builder to be paid for what was a seamless installation.

I bought 2 of these, to replace each basic manhole. Installation is easy and well supported by a "how to" video. You will need an extra hand to help you lift it into place. It's strong, sturdy and adjustable. Great value.
Bang for buck, a great attic ladder.
If you want an attic ladder in your house this is the one for you. Nice neat finish with the square keyhole. No rope pulls and exposed visible bolt heads.Install was pretty straight forward but I am a carpenter. May be a bit tricky for average Joe but with a bit of nous you’ll get there. Watch the install video and follow that, as the instructions are pretty basic and hard to interpret.Definitely need two pretty strong people to lift in.
Ladder has been installed for over 5 years now. Held up well with the heat and rain. The steps at the top are a little hard to use and u have to put ur foot sideways or use ur tippy toes to climb up as the cover stops u from put the middle of your foot on the step. Opening and closing is easy but sometimes its hard to tell that u have put the lock on properly and have to stare at the tiny gap to make sure u can see the lock is straight. U have to have plenty of room underneath and I wish the ladder slid straight down rather than fold as it would make the clear space needed less.
Installed this about a year and a half ago, works fine, but the hatch panel is warped on the seen side, so even paint can't hide it. Also the hatch isn't insulated, as the heat load is very noticeable under it in the hallway. Wish they had just put some foam between the hatch skins like other quality products. Might have to try and detach the ladder, rip off the top skin, insulate, and fit a new skin.
I found the product very easy to install and it works well
