This swing started out nice but soon started to fail. The "music" feature sounds horrible and it sounds like it is playing 2 or 3 songs all at the same time. Then after a week or two it started making clicking sounds when it would go side to side that in the beginning would startle the baby but she eventually got used to. We reached out to GRACO and sent them videos and recordings but they have been slow to non-responsive when dealing with the issues. I recommend finding something else.

She is very opinionated, willful, and always on the move and she outgrew her other infant swings, seats, etc a while back.When I put her in this swing she calms down even when she is in the middle of a meltdown where before the only thing that would make her happy would be me walking around with her in my arms. Having the vast control over both pattern and speed is super helpful since she is so picky and she needs certain ones to stay happy.I am also impressed with the music as I am very tired of the same old songs that are in almost all toys and that are constantly stuck in my head, This swing has songs that are either completely different or have enough of a twist to them that they don't get stuck in my head.It is also very obvious that this swing was designed down to the detail to be as easy for parents to use as possible. Putting it together was a piece of cake (the pictures were a little hard to understand, but everything was intuitive so it didn't matter). The top smoothly disconnects and converts into a rocker (unfortunately my little girl is too big for me to be able to use that function.) If it is too close to a wall it will alert you. The seat is easy to remove and throw in the wash but is still super soft and comfy.Do be aware that this will take up a decent amount of space and the swing base does plug in the wall instead of running off batteries so if you have a crawler like me you will have to find a place for it that they can't get to the cord.While I would not say that this swing is worth it for an already older baby like my 10m daughter I would say it is more than worth it for a smaller baby knowing that it will continue to be useful for many months. I just wish I had it when she was smaller because I think it would have been an absolute life saver in being able to get things done while she was happily swinging along.

It’s also really nice that the seat can be face forward or sideways so it doubles the motion options to 16. My daughter wouldn’t sleep long in it but I’ve come to believe it’s because she needs the G-force you get when in a traditional swing which is not present in this pedestal style rocker.Okay now for the cons and I’m bummed about this but there’s quite a few:-the biggest problem is the cord is quite short. It really has to be right next to the plug in to reach without an extension cord so my behind the couch outlet was not an option by itself.-the rocker motion must be off to put your baby in and when you turn it on it takes a few seconds of adjustments before it begins moving. For me that’s a big problem because I have to put my daughter into an immediately rocking swing or she wakes up and the adjustment motion is not soothing it’s rather jarring. Also some of the motions themselves have jarring transitions. It also started making more noise after a while because when I tried to put her in while it was in motion it jammed it up and I think caused some noisiness while in motion that wasn’t there to begin with. It started off rather quiet.-the most disappointing feature to me was the nature sounds. You can choose which one to start with by scrolling though but then it just cycles through all the sounds so if your baby likes one and not the other you can’t just use that one unless you sit next to it and skip all the other sounds every time they come on. Kinda defeats the purpose of having a swing to occupy or keep you baby asleep.-also the swing shuts itself off after I believe 4 hours of continuous motion which if you have a baby that otherwise would sleep 5 to 8 hours is not great because when it does she wakes up after a few minutes.-the display was also extremely bright which is great except that it lights up the room so baby or anyone else have trouble sleeping unless it’s covered up.-lastly I don’t use the removable rocker often because I can’t always be rocking her on my own and the vibration feature built into it is rather violent and didn’t help sooth my baby or nephew at all.In the end I was able to find ways around most of the cons and liked the GRACO Sooth My Way Swing, but my baby did not and her opinion was the one that really mattered.

I could fit a finger between his shoulder and the strap, but I really had to pull to fasten the five point harness. That was one thing I wish could be improved: straps that were a little longer to accommodate my little bean pole! Maybe if there was a mention of it in the instructions, that would be helpful for parents whose babies seem to be reaching the upper range of the weight and height limits.One feature that I haven't tested out is the rocker, since we haven't weighed our baby recently, and I suspect he's past the 18 lb. limit. Once we confirm it, I would love to be able to take advantage of being able to move him from the living room to the kitchen, so that he can watch mama finish dinner after he's had enough of the TV. This way, the SMW would eliminate two separate items that we received to each serve those purposes. Since I can't have baby on the floor in my small kitchen, the rocker would make the best accessory to keep him company and a safe eye on.This swing has ticked a lot of boxes for my little family ; it's stylish, compact, comfortable for my baby, and fills multiple functions that have helped us to eliminate too many products in our home. I have 4 kids and we got this baby swing for my 4th and it's the worst one by far. If I could give this swing negative stars I would. I worked okay for about a month maybe a little longer but was never a smooth swing and now it gets jammed or misses the gears inside. I'm not sure what its doing but it stops working atleast 1 time per day. I have to take the chair off and force it to move until it catches and starts working on its own. If my baby is in it and she kicks or moves alot it will stop working as well. My daughter is 8 months old and we have had issues with this swing for 5-6 months. It's an absolute piece of crap.
