Grand Theft Auto IV (Platinum) (PS3)
What does the American Dream mean today? For Niko Bellic, fresh off the boat from Europe, it is the hope he can escape his past. For his cousin, Roman, it is the vision that together they can find fortune in Liberty City, gateway to the land of opportunity. As they slip into debt and are dragged into a criminal underworld by a series of shysters, thieves and sociopaths, they discover that the reality is very different from the dream in a city that worships money and status, and is heaven for those who have them and a living nightmare for those who don't.

An absolute classic. Gameplay can feel repetitive but is never truly boring. The story is deep and sometimes you have the decision to change the course of the story. Liberty City is full of Easter eggs and is fun to explore. The soundtrack is superb. The songs on the radio stations are timeless and has features some notable artists like Kanye West and T-Pain on "the Beat" (my favorite radio station). The graphics were really good for 2008 but you can see it is no match to the graphics of Grand Theft Auto V (2013). On max settings or with mods its still beautiful to look at. If you like to experience a well written story and the atmosphere of the fictional version of New York, Grand Theft Auto IV is the game for you.

Stepping off a boat in the shoes of illegal immigrant Niko Bellic as he arrives in Liberty City at the start of Grand Theft Auto IV, you can tell immediately that Rockstar North's latest offering is something quite special. Yes, this is another GTA game in which you'll likely spend the bulk of your time stealing cars and gunning down cops and criminals, but it's also much more than that. GTAIV is a game with a compelling and nonlinear storyline, a game with a great protagonist who you can't help but like, and a game that boasts a plethora of online multiplayer features in addition to its lengthy story mode. GTAIV is a game with a compelling and nonlinear storyline, a game with a great protagonist who you can't help but like, and a game that boasts a plethora of online multiplayer features in addition to its lengthy story mode. It's not without some flaws, but GTAIV is undoubtedly the best Grand Theft Auto yet. One of the many things that set GTAIV apart from its predecessors is Liberty City, which is more convincing as a living, breathing urban environment than anything that you've seen in a game before, and bears little resemblance to its namesake in 2001's GTAIII. Liberty's diverse population believably attempts to go about its daily business, seemingly unaware that several criminal factions are at war in the city. Niko has no such luck. He's compelled to start working for one of the factions shortly after arriving, when he learns that his cousin Roman has some potentially fatal gambling debts.Niko's military experience makes him a useful freelancer for employers in the business of killing each other, and though his reluctance to carry out their orders is often apparent, he does whatever is asked of him in the hope that completing missions for other people will ultimately give him the means to complete his own. Actually, Niko doesn't have to do everything that is asked of him. On several occasions as you play through his story, you'll be presented with decisions that afford you the option of doing what you think is right rather than blindly following instructions. You don't necessarily have to kill a target if he or she promises to disappear, but you have to weigh the risk of your employer finding out against the possibility that the person whose life you spare might prove useful later in the game, or even have work for you in the form of bonus missions. To say anything more specific on this subject would be to risk spoiling one of GTAIV's most interesting new features, but suffice it to say that every decision you make has consequences, and you'll likely want to play through the game at least twice to see how the alternatives unfold. Grand Theft Auto IV's story mode can be beaten in less than 30 hours, and there are so many optional activities and side missions totake part in along the way that you can comfortably double that number if you're in no hurry. The majority of the story missions task you with making deliveries and/or killing people, and play out in much the same way as those in previous games. With that said, most of the missions are a lot easier this time around, partly because Niko is a more agile and efficient killer than any of his predecessors, and partly because the LCPD seemingly has better things to do than hunt down an illegal immigrant who's gunning down undesirables all over the city. Some of the more imaginative missions sprinkled throughout the story include a kidnapping, a bank heist, and a job interview. The cinematic cutscenes associated with story missions are superbly presented and are the sequences in which the game's characters really shine. Without exception, the characters you encounter benefit from great animation, great voice work, and superbly expressive faces. They're not always so impressive when they join you on a mission and refuse to do what they're supposed to (for example, not following you on an escort mission, or failing to negotiate a doorway). Nevertheless, these problems are few and far between, and they're made less painful by the new "replay mission" option that you're presented with whenever you fail. If you're wondering about differences between the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Grand Theft Auto IV, the truth is that there aren't many. The PS3 version can only be played after a mandatory install that takes around 10 minutes, and its load times are a little shorter and less frequent as a result. The visuals, which don't always hold up to close scrutiny but are impressive during typical gameplay, In case you haven't guessed already, Grand Theft Auto IV is a game that you simply have to play. The single-player game, which you can still play long after you complete the story, is the series' best by far, and the multiplayer features are good enough that you'll likely have no problem finding people to play with for many months to come. The minor flaws that you'll experience are no more difficult to overlook than those in previous GTA games, and they're greatly outnumbered by the features that will impress and surprise you anytime you think you've already seen everything that the game has to offer. There's lots to see in Liberty City, so you'd best get started.

To this day, more than 7-8 years after release, Gran Theft Auto 5 is still one of the most popular games of the modern era. This PS3 version has pretty decent graphics for its system, and I got great value for literally an almost brand new game. It's fun just to mess around and blow things up, crash cars, do stunts, and of course play the main story, which features some of the best acting and dialogue for a game, and at times it feels like a film. Awesome job by Rockstar Games and the new ps5 version looks amazing.

You know what youre getting when you get a GTA game. This one is nothing like their last version obviously that came out not even close but its still really good. It has multiple games basically. And I got it for a great price The reason I said the graphics are not good there just a little bit on the dark side and controlling it is basically the same as the newest GTA that came out a few years ago. But when youre going by that and then you look at this its like not even close. But its still a fun game very fun.
I have only positives to say about my experiences with DKOldies. Every product I have purchased from them has been in fantastic condition. I live their selection. Grand Theft Auto 4 is one of my absolute favorites. Owning this brings me back to me high school years. Gonna keep shopping DKOldies
As a kid I always heard about the GTA PS2 trilogy, so naturally when I was of age, I bought GTA IV and was hyped about it. After playing for a couple of hours, I was disappointed, everything looked so drab and I found your cousin insanely annoying. Recently I decided to go back and give it another try and I’ve started to really appreciate this game much more. As always, the copy was super clean and included everything that was advertised. DKOldies is now officially my go to spot for retro games. Great prices and I can bet that it will always be in the best condition possible.
Okay, so I'm not a gamer. I play around 2 hours a week total. What I like about Halo Reach is you can start it up for 15-20 minutes at a time, make progress, and then shut it off. Plenty of "checkpoints" and you can vary your intensity level to match your skill level. The story on Halo Reach is what I really enjoy. You know that, in the end, we loose the planet....yet each segment of game gives you a sense of hope that you can help protect the remaining humans on the planet....and you do get victories. But just when you think you will get ahead your chopper gets shot down, your area explodes from an alien bombing raid, etc.. It is a good lesson, albeit a virtual one, that you get up and fight on regardless of guaranteed victory. In the heat of the battle you are ... MoreOkay, so I'm not a gamer. When you come upon a settlement of humans...you fight to protect them. Never mind the overall war is going to be declared a victory for the enemy, you have a chance to make a difference in an individuals life. The graphics are great!!! Highly detailed, great lighting and shading, sound is OUTSTANDING--booth sound effects and musical scores. The blood and gore are minimal by todays wide-ope standards. There are no gasps for breath in the last moment of a persons life, theblood is seen from like 50 feet away so you see a puddle but no squirting or anything like that. And the driving of the wart-hog is just plain fun, if not a bit sloppy.....meaning it feels more like driving a boat at times than a tired vehicle. but its FUN!!!! I'm looking forward to see how this concludes as I am only about 6 game hours into this one. I think its going to set the stage nicely to move into the original Halo, which is now offered with much improved graphics so the 10+ year old game will feel more like todays games. I would highly recommend this game....especially at the regular used price of under $20 bucks.
GTA IV has a lot of driving as the title implies, and the driving... is bad. The lack of any traction makes any car driving a dumpster on ice. The characters, a few hours in, are mostly unlikable, or neutral; Niko, the player character, is the only one I've liked so far. The graphics still look okay in 2019 and my favorite bit is the amount of damage cars take, scrunching in an amount not matched even by demolition derby games. The atmosphere and colors really complement the story, which is what kept me playing for hours, to see where it went, mostly how Niko would rise up the ranks and where he'd end up. The shooting gameplay is servicable if a bit slow. If you wanted to get into GTA with cheaper titles than GTA V, I would recommend Vice City or San Andreas over ... Got my package, and I was pretty excited since I love this game and to be honest it came in good condition plus it didn’t have no problems on gameplay, game is so good as I remember it! Thanks and I really appreciate it for making me revisit my childhood and now I have a website that I can trust and definitely will buy more games here! 👍🤩 (and yes I finish the game already without no problems!)
Not my favorite campaign in the franchise, but Its a pretty good game. No, its a pretty excellent game. Its my favorite multiplayer in the franchise, its my favorite magnum in the franchise, its got a lot going for it. Now, the cons. Removing dual wielding was kinda a bummer for me. dual wielding was clunky and weird when it first got introduced, but it really had an awesome reformation in Halo 3, and seeing it disappear entirely in Reach was kind of a bummer. The Battle Rifle disappearing. While canonically, it makes sense, I miss it. Speaking of canonical weapons, the DMR makes no sense. same with a few other weapons, like the Needle Rifle, Spiker, etc. This is a prequel to Halo 1, where NONE of these weapons appeared. This wasn't really a con, just a nerd ... MoreNot my favorite campaign in the franchise, but Its a pretty good game. No, its a pretty excellent game. This wasn't really a con, just a nerd tangent. A few common complaints about Halo Reach you'll hear around are Weapon Bloom, and Armor lock. Well, you're gonna be hearing me complain about it too. Weapon bloom was really strange when they added it out of nowhere. It had never been in any Halo game before, and I hope it doesnt appear again. with percission weapons, like the magnum or the dmr, you have to space your shots out more, or your accuracy is gonna be seriously messed up. and armor lock is literally the stupidest feature ever. It stops fights in their tracks and makes you have to wait on your opponent. it kinda ruins the pacing in my opinion, but its not downright bad. Overall, Halo Reach is a good game, just not the best in the series for me. Also, it has almost no reason to be M rated. there's a little human blood from gunshots and that's it, it just barely scrapes up to Mature. I'd rate it a solid 13+
