Greenies Original Dog Dental Treats - Large - 1kg

I was sent a coupon to try these treats, but I probably wouldn't have bought them otherwise. The bag was priced at $10 Canadian dollars, which is more than I'd spend on dog treats. My dog enjoys them, and eats them quickly. I don't know how effective they are as a dental product, because her teeth are pretty clean to begin with. My dog is a medium sized Springer Spaniel, so I bought the regular sized treats. It does not keep her busy long but she has fun with it! I wish the package was resealable. I would probably buy these again if they were on sale, and gift them to family member's dogs.

I purchased these because we struggle with our two dogs and brushing their teeth, they just don’t like it. I saw that Greenies had amazing reviews so that’s what helped me decide. My dog Cleo ate it up. She’s a Rottweiler, and will literally eat ANYTHING (except lettuce haha) She eats ate hers right by my feet. Her smell test after…hmm not bad. Now for Boomer, his breath would make a baby cry. He’s always sleeping, so I joke and say he’s more like a cat. So it has to be like a permanent morning breath for him. He gently takes the Greenie from my hand and walks to his bed to eat it. A few min later he comes to me wagging his tail-so I take that as he liked it. I suppose Greenies work as well as where your dogs breath starts out and then with continued use, it can get fresher and fresher. But, continued use is the problem for my buddy Boomer. You see, that evening and through the night, he kept on asking me to let him out to go outside because he had diarrhea. I kept the box of Greenies and would give one to Cleo whenever her breath needed it and Boomer wasn’t looking (he’s deaf, so it’s super easy to sneak around him LOL) But, another time since Boomer’s initial tasting, a family member gave him a Greenie (not knowing that he couldn’t eat them) and his poor stomach was just as upset. So Greenies are a win for Cleo’s breath, not so much for Boomer. I’m thinking his stomach is just sensitive to a particular ingredient. I haven’t experimented with anything else for his breath since, but I will eventually. If your dog does not have a sensitive stomach, I’d say give these a try. Maybe try a small box at first, not go crazy with a value size until you know how your dog likes them.

My 2kg Chihuahua looks forward to her Greenie every day, and she's been getting them for four years now. She literally does these hilarious little loop-de-loops the second I ask her if she wants one, and I can always tell when I'm late giving them to her because she will come and find me to let me know at the same time each day. They keep her occupied for a few minutes, and have a gummy/chewy/bendy texture (not easily snapped). That being said, I don't know how much they're doing for her dental health. Her doggy breath hasn't improved or worsened while having these, and the vet even mentioned that there are better dental treats out there (unfortunately the one she recommended isn't even available anymore). When I visited the home of a relative a few months ago she gave me a few of these that had been broken in half to take home to my dog. When I got home he smelled them in my pocket and started jumping around until I gave him one. When I gave it to him he started flipping it around and playing with it before eating it. He liked them so much I began buying them but I find them too pliable to break in half so I just give him one whole one each day. My dog likes other treats too but does not act like this with them. Now he stands by where I keep hem and cries for one every morning! My husband said it is almost like catnip for dogs because of how he plays with them. Now I have to make sure I never run out because my dog loves these so much!

Having tried several of the Greenis line of treats, this one seems to be the one she likes to eat the most. I also prefer this variety over the others as well. For an 8-year-old Chihuahua she has great teeth and gums and I contribute that to the Greenies. I do brush her teeth and use a dental spray but this treat is what makes her teeth stay healthy. We have never had a problem with any of her dental checkups and she always gets an A+ bill of health. These treats are very tiny which is perfect for smaller dogs. They do a great job keeping her teeth and gums cleaned also, she does not have bad breath. Her breath has never been an issue and that is because her teeth are in great shape. Brushing and dental cleanings have also helped throughout the years but, this treat has been the best in-between maintenance. My vet has a store attached to his practice and keeps Greenies stocked on a regular basis. I prefer to purchase my bags from Amazon, you just can’t beat the price. It’s never too late to start with these treats. A dog can be a puppy or an adult and these treats will help reduce tarter buildup. I will continue to purchase these Greenies because I know it works for her. I would recommend this brand to any dog owner that is interested in purchasing this item.

Great product, horrible quantity packaging...

These are wonderful to keep your canine's teeth clean. The problem is I have a Siberian Husky, and if given the proper way (one a day) the "Large Value Pack" does not even last a month. Already paying more than a buck a day, gets expensive. But only coming in a 24 count quantity as the "Large Value Pack" makes no sense (missing 6 for a 30 day month). I would have no problem buying 13 boxes a year (30 days times 12 months, and "an extra" to cover the other 7 months that have 31 days and the times than an "extra" may be needed if my "girl of the canine persuasion" has the rare "nasty breath" days and could use two in a day). The smaller sizes come in "month quantities" or better, but not the large and that is the size I need for an over 50# Canine.

Honestly I was very leary about purchasing these. I have read about some brands in the past that were horrible for dogs but after reading the reviews I decided to purchase a small bag and try it out. Both my pointer pups like the dog treats. I don't give them the treats every day but instead about every three or four days. There is already a difference in the amount of plaque on their teeth. I was actually so surprised to see the difference. Note: I also brush their teeth. So all in all these really do work and so far no problems with neither one of the pups.

Run, run, run to the store to get these for your pups! I have two mixed breed pups aged 5 and 4 and they LOVE these treats. My one pup who is a terrier mix is so picky about everything. Food, treats, you name it! If he doesn’t like it, he turns his little nose up at it and walks away. My other pup is a golden mix and is not picky at all. He eats whatever we put out for him. So for my super picky pup to really love these days a lot! And they are good for their teeth which is super beneficial! Would definitely recommend to others!

I started where most of us would start - the cheapest chews I could find.Over the next year I tried them all. It's expensive compared to other dental chews, but I can't put a price on my dogs. These are the only ones that seemed to work that they like. I've also noticed some supply issues lately where it can be a pain to find them in the regular size.But most importantly, my dogs love their Greenies. Every morning after their go outside they know it's Greenie time. They walk over to the pantry and keep their eyes focused on it. Once I open it up and grab the bag they start tippy-tapping in excitement and each take a Greenie to their doggie beds and chew it up!

I gave them a Greenies treat and they took it and started chewing it instantly. I was worried they would just play with it and not actually eat it because they've done that with other treats.
