The RAM works great and the color scheme matches well with my rig. The only minor con about the chips is that they dont immediatley dont boot up to the color that you want unless you go with the rainbow effect but its only a minor con. Other than that, this was a best choice to buy used online.

I have a Maximus 8 Gene in my system, which is not one of these Z270 boards which might be part of the problem. No one wants to write software for it, because of all the "new" bells and whistles on the Z270. And the Z270 Strix micro ATX has less features than my current board!

Works great, super fast, shipped and arrived quickly, too. The fins on the RAM do make it a little hard for my CPU Noctua cooler, but I just had to budge it around the fins and bit. Great! Also looks surprisingly good, although I didn't but it for that reason.
Have not OC or looked into software available for changing the colors of the RAM. I for one don't mind the factory-set color choice as it just has it set to constantly change colors. The picture shown for the product is basically what it looks like in the case without using the software to change the color.

I believe in an open-sourced software that all manufacturers can use for RGB settings instead of consumers having to install 5 different apps just for lighting, currently it's absurd. We've been down this road in computing, I just hope it doesn't last long before common sense is made.
overall im going to give this 5 eggs why? Because as ram this does exactly what it is suppose to do its ram !! however again the programming is only in beta for the leds however trust me when i said rainbow mode will make your build that much more appealing my pc nerd friends are jealous !!!
The software does increase my sexy 20 second boot time, to a less a less than so 35 seconds. But they look pretty good without the software so i may just wait and be hopeful for another update. And I really liked the music features...
My current setup CPU:AMD Ryzen 7 1700 MB:MSI X370 Carbon Pro Gaming GPU: MSI Radeon RX 580 gaming X In the past G.Skill has made really good memory modules when it comes to modern gaming PCs.I remember when I had my AMD FX 6300. I mean when I upgraded to Ryzen using this ram I noticed a massive gain in performance compared to the AMD fx6300. The ram I had before was the Gskill aegis ddr3 @1600mhz.Pretty good ram.
