Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid 50 ml

I have never had a Gucci perfume before so I wasn't sure if it would be something that I really enjoyed and could recommend to others but I'm so glad I got this because it's completely changing my mind about designer fragrances. I usually find designer fragrances to be heavy and they irritate my allergies giving me flashbacks to being a little kid in church by the old lady who drowned herself in her favorite scent. This, however, is so refreshingly light and just smells so intoxicating. The description of the fragrance notes was pretty vague just saying 'vanilla duo, vanilla orchid and ozonic accord' which I didn't find very helpful. When spraying it the floral notes come out as just a light spring inspired scent from the orchid (a flower I can't say I've ever sought out for it's fragrance because it IS light) but you also get those hints of vanilla but not the sort of vanilla that they make lip balms from, more like the actual vanilla bean that's so much softer. There definitely seems to be a touch of citrus thrown in for good measure. Overall this fragrance is really well balanced and I've already had so many people ask me what I'm wearing. Plus the bottle is one of the cutest I've ever seen so I'm super excited to have it on my fragrance shelf. If you have the kind of cash that can afford a fancy bottle of scent I'd highly recommend this one!

It's just effortlessly intoxicating and enchanting you and those near you with happiness! It's sweet, but not too sweet. Pretty different than the others in the Gorgeous line. Gorgeous Orchid boarders on gourmand, but I don't think it quite reaches it. That almost delicate, ozonic, and light as air sweet vanilla keeps it from crossing over into a more gourmand territory. That's part of what makes this so special and appealing... this really fits a wider range of vanilla lovers. Gourmand lovers can still easily love this because it is a sweet vanilla. Non-gourmand fans can really enjoy a lovely and classy vanilla that is sweet, but not overly sweet like a sugary frosted cake. Gucci did an excellent job with this one. It really is quite charming. I also want to mention that this reminds me somewhat of Montblanc Signature, not the scent itself, but just because Montblanc Signature is both sweet yet fresh and so is Gorgeous Orchid. I think this is one of those unique fragrances that can easily work all year round, m. However, it's also a really wonderful spring and summer scent because of its softer yet bright scent! I think it's crowd pleasing, safe for the office, and not offensive. I'm getting great performance with Gorgeous Orchid. The longevity is really good, it lasts throughout the day on me. The projection is nice too, it radiates out at least an arm's length from me.

If you are looking for a long lasting and a projecting fragrance that will make you smell like a sweet combination of mango and a hint of banana then this is for you. Even though mango is not mentioned in the notes, I can definitely detect that sweet thick syrupy mango concentrate in a juice box and a tiny hint of banana. The banana note as everyone was saying wasn’t really that prominent in this perfume. It is pretty much linear to me. It stays true from start to finish and I do mean it last longer than expected. The vanilla note here is also not that overwhelming and somewhat like a background character to provide that sweetness and longevity. The stabilizers almost always give me headaches (occasionally nausea if it’s really bad), so I typically err on the side of caution and skip them entirely. That said, I’m shocked this perfume hasn’t had any adverse effects on me, so I have to give a huge thank you to Gucci for that.Let’s talk packaging first. Yellow might be my least favorite color, so this probably wouldn’t draw me in if I saw it in store, BUT it feels high-end and very well-made, and the label design offsets the yellow a good bit. It’s always tough for me to identify the scent notes of mass-produced perfumes, but what I get on me is the following: Initial spray- light floral, something citrusy, and a touch of sweetness. After dry down- a creamy, powdery floral with a hint of vanilla. There’s some scent note that vaguely reminds me of the mid to late 90s, but I can’t place it for the life of me. Maybe a hair product of some kind? I don’t know, but it continues to poke at me the longer I wear it.The scent lingers a full work day, so be sure you really like this one before committing to it.
