I received a bottle of the Aqua Allegoria Forte Mandarine Basilic courtesy of Influenster and Guerlain in exchange for my honest review. The Forte version was launched in 2022. The nose behind this fragrance is Delphine Jelk. The original (2007) was created by a Marie Salamagne. The new edition ‘s notes: Top notes are Mandarin Orange, Basil and Cassis; middle notes are Orange Blossom, Honey, Bulgarian Rose and Anise; base notes are Vanilla and Sandalwood. I compared the two versions and while the original is sparklier, the new edition is smoother and long lasting-at least on me. I love this perfume more than the Aqua Allegoria Nerolia Vetiver! Which I thought was going to be difficult to do. This perfume has notes of mandarin (obviously), basil, sandalwood and vanilla. It’s a beautiful sweet citrus-y smell and I can’t get enough of it! Like with my other perfumes I don’t put much on: spray on 1 wrist and dab on both and then behind the ears. This leaves me with a nice but not overpowering amount on. The staying power is pretty decent as well and lasts a few hours. The packaging is also amazing, it’s heavy and feels like its own experience! Very luxurious feeling. This is definitely something I would buy as a gift for someone as it’s beautiful from the packaging, bottle and scent.

I was kind of hesitant when I got this sample but I'm so surprised by how much I liked it! It's got a bit of a freshness to it which really stays lifted throughout the day. I never feel like I have to reapply as it's so strong (I will say that it sometimes is a concern). I'm not sure if I love this scent BUT I am excited to try out others in the same line. I find that it worked well layered together so I didn't smell too much of the Mandarine scent. It was a pleasure reading about this line and the ways in which it aims to be sustainable. I haven't looked into their claims yet so I cannot confirm how sustainable it all is yet. The fact that it is a refillable (and therefore reusable bottle) is so exciting! I love how beautiful it looks on my table and to know what I can refill it with another perfume or maybe face spray/toner is very appealing.

When you first spray the perfume, you'll get a strong hint of mandarin, but with time, it changes, and you'll smell the soft warmth of the sandalwood and vanilla, with a faint hint of orange and basil. This fresh, springy, sexy fragrance is one I can’t get enough of!! Citrus and basil (didn’t know I’d like basil in a perfume!) and light florals come together for a scent that will put a smile on your face. Perfect packaging and bottle. This is the orange scent that I have been longing for, for so long. The orange is authentic, mature and airy. The basil grounds the orange, giving it depth and keeping it from becoming too cloying and sweet. This scent should be considered unisex as I see any man who enjoys the uplifting scent of orange, being able to pull it off well. Not masculine and not feminine, but rather somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. The perfect orange scent for my collection!

The gold beehive and the bee on the lid is so aesthetically pleasing. It fits in perfectly on my vanity. The fragrance itself is fresh smelling. More suitable for daytime. You can definitely pickup the notes of Mandarin right away. The basil creeps up and combines with the Mandarin scent. Its unique. I sprayed in the morning before work and can still faintly smell it at the end of the work day. Also, love that Guerlain is focused on environmental responsibility. The bottle is made of recycled glass and is refillable. The ingredients are sourced responsibly.

Absolutely beautiful scent and bottle

Wow…..so this is the first time I’ve ever tired Guerlain perfume range and how did I not know these existed sooner. The packaging and bottle is just out of this world, the details and design gone into the bottle is absolutely stunning and I was so amazed by how much detail there was and how beautiful it looks on my dresser, it’s very modern and a show stopper and just love how stunning it is. Now onto the fragrance it’s self, if you like floral, fruity feminine scents then this is the perfume for you, it’s hard to explain but it’s just stunning. It reminds me of when I walk into my home when I have a big bunch of fresh roses in my vase, with added sweetness and I get a slight fruity scent too like peach, it’s absolutely devine. I only use 2-3 sprays and can honestly say that’s more than enough, the scent does last all day but by late evening if I’m going out again I will need to reapply, but I’m happy with that as you only need a couple go sprays each time. It’s a scent that’s feel you could wear for any occasion, and also feel it’s not to mature so suitable for any age woman, I feel so confident and sexy wearing this scent and am forever getting compliments and asking what scent I’m wearing. You won’t be disappointed, treat yourself, splashout, it will make you feel a million dollars. Can’t wait to try the rest of this range I’m super excited, slightly more expensive than my usual price range but you get what you pay for and the high quality of this from the packaging to the bottle to the scent itself is 100% worth it

This is my first time having a full-size perfume from GUERLAIN as have only experienced their scent range from samples but hadn’t tried this variety. The packaging is simple and neat yet beautifully put together and a big bonus being that no plastic packaging is used inside and only shrink wrap on the outside. I don’t like lots of unnecessary packaging and all material could be recycled at home which I was pleased about. The bottle itself is absolutely stunning and has a bee imprint on the lid alongside the top part from the cap downwards being a gold honeycomb shell casing. The label is also gold and minimal but again doesn’t ruin the features. The perfume itself is pink tinted and smells very refreshing almost and I feel would suit all occasions and ages. Beautiful, fresh and sweet.

I've fallen head over heels in love with this scent. Its beautifully fresh, yet sweet and natural. Light and welcoming, with a overall scent of fresh and fruity mandarin. I love that it's grown up and classy, which most fruity scents tend to struggle to be. Its not synthetic in the slightest and has good staying power. I didn't realise how much this scent would be adored by myself. The packaging is a added bonus as it is simply stunning. The gold wrap of honeycomb across the top of the bottle and the gorgeous bee on the cap, all add to its indulgent and sensuous feel. I highly recommend that all perfume lovers try this scent, even if it's not the usual profile they would go for.
