Our dog is allergic to any dog food apart fromPurina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets Dog HA (Hypoallergenic) that we were told to use by our vet. Since using this food we have had no serious diarrhoea that was full of blood and no vomiting. He has obviously put on weight and is in excellent condition.Yes it is a little bit more expensive to normal dog foods but for the health of your dog it is worth every penny. We also mix Purina PRO PLAN HA wet food into it to give it a bit of moisture.

My dog is 20 months old and has had spasmodic episodes of gastric problems. After several short lived remedies the vet eventually recommended that I try him on this food. In combination with Purina Gastrointestinal wet food we (hopefully) seem to have cracked the problem. Before I put him on this food he would often reject his meal or only pick at it half heartedly, but with the Purina he eats everything I put down for him - and often looks for more!! We've now had three months without any return symptoms.

This food saved my dogs life she was diagnosed with pancreatitis and IBD we had 3 months of daily visits to vets for anti sickness, painkillers, steroids and antacids plus iv fluids. I tried every diet the vet recomended nothing worked until finally the vet discovered my dog was allergic to the protein in meat chicken and fish. I started the purina pro plan hypoallergenic with doubts it contains hydrolysed soya protein which means the protein is broken down into tiny particles that the gut doesn't recognise as protein so the immune response doesn't go into attack mode. After only 2 days on this food all my dogs symptoms cleared up no daily vomiting bloody diahorea and shaking in pain. I highly recommend this food to anyone having similar problems with their dogs, if ... MoreThis food saved my dogs life she was diagnosed with pancreatitis and IBD we had 3 months of daily visits to vets for anti sickness, painkillers, steroids and antacids plus iv fluids. I highly recommend this food to anyone having similar problems with their dogs, if only I had found it sooner It would have saved so much suffering not to mention thousands at the vets. My dog had lost half her bodyweight during the 3 months of illness and was ready to be euthanased trying the purina was a last ditch attempt and I can't thank the manufactures enough it really did save my dogs life she's back to optimum weight bouncy, happy and she loves the food!

My dog was put on this because of digestive issues, i have since weaned her onto a more nutritional food but still use this instead of treats. Its small size means its ideal for that. I have offered this to other dogs, with owners consent, and most will accept it, but if you have a fussy eater they may feel different. Using as treats makes it a very cost effective product. The only reason i gave it 3 stars for quality, is that it doesnt show as a very high nutritional value on allaboutdogfood., however it fulfilled the purpose when i was using it as my dogs main food.

A necessary evil. The kibbles are a white colour so look unappealing. If left in the dish they can become a little slimey. My poodle hates them but she has to eat them for her condition and they have the right ratio of constituents for her. She’s on her second bag, so it will be interesting how long she will continue eating it.

I bought this for my border terrier as she had a severe bout of vomiting and diarrhoea. All vet tests came back normal but she was still unwell. I bought some Purina HA wet food from the vets which she ate because I didn't offer anything else. She really liked the dry food though and would give her a couple of nuggets of this as a treat. She is better now and has gone back to her normal food with no issues.

Really good product for my little Pomeranian. She has sensitivity to so many foods but this is lovely and gentle on her stomach. She has had a lot of teeth extractions due to neglect from her previous owner so I dampen them with a little water although they're not too hard to have a few dry as a treat. When she tires of eating them I give her Royal Canin hypoallergenic small dog kibble which she also likes ( she's very fickle). Both these products were advised by my vet.

A good product if a little pricy.

This is a good product for a dog with digestive problems, if a little pricy. My dog has Inflammatory Bowel Disease and I am using this food to try to reduce the possible allergens in his diet, unfortunately it has not stopped his constant diarhhoea. Its a pity it doesn't come in a smaller than 3 kg bag. I would have liked to try a smaller bag in case my dog would'nt eat it. I have had to throw away quite a few bags of food because they upset his stomach or he would'nt eat it. I'm pleased to say he does eat this food though.

Amazing

Our boy has tried so many diffrent brands of food he has every allergy u can think of and this one is totally the best for him..I have now found he likes it even more with a bit of water in it so its not hard. Hoping this is alright to do he woofs it down. He's a 5year old wheaten terrier and to find a dog food he likes is just wonderful. I just wish that a dog food company could make a tasty gravy that could be mixed into dog food that had no meat extracts in for these dogs with all the diffrent types of allergies that taste yummy for them . I do feel sorry for dogs who have all diffrent allergies they can't have yummy food like other dogs .

Purina HA as a treatment for IBD

My GSD cross dog has had bouts of diarrhoea ever since we rescued her 8 years ago. We tried all sorts of diets and veterinary treatment with no success - the violent diarrhoea would disappear for a while to be replaced with permanently soft poos. IBD was confirmed after biopsies and Purina HA recommended. I've always tried to avoid highly processed food and given the dog only high quality meat and vegetables, so I was very reluctant to give her this product. The food looks rather like polystyrene balls, or Maltesers without the chocolate. It's also very light, so the recommended amount looks a lot! However, after just a 2 or 3 days on this food my dog has firm poos, light in colour, and no more of the stomach churning and frequent, very smelly wind that she suffered ... MoreMy GSD cross dog has had bouts of diarrhoea ever since we rescued her 8 years ago. However, after just a 2 or 3 days on this food my dog has firm poos, light in colour, and no more of the stomach churning and frequent, very smelly wind that she suffered before. I'll be honest, after a week she went off the food a bit, so I'm adding a tiny amount of boiled chicken, which makes her eat up. My lovely dog is clearly much more comfortable on this food, though less energetic than on her old high protein diet. So we will be staying with Purina for the foreseeable future.
