Haakaa - New Mum Starter Pack

I wasn't sure if this was going to be a waste if 💰 or not. I was skeptical, but since my electric pump started acting crazy, I decided to buy and try. I must say that this is a hidden gem I'm glad I found. When I'm nursing this collects the milk from the free breast. That saves me wasting breast pads when I'm feeding. I'm slowly stacking back up on my milk supply. I'm so glad I got this since my pump is "out of order" and especially at a time like this (Coronavirus pandemic). For all new moms to be or current nursing mom's, get one if these.... I promise you, it will be well worth it. It comes with a flower stopper to keep it from spilling it getting germs inside. A must-have

I regret not buying this with my first baby. It is amazing! I can get 2-4 ounces of milk, all while nursing my little one. I can then use that milk to supplement after breastfeeding without needing to pump or heat up milk. Comes in handy specially at night. Would highly recommend if you want to build your milk stash or if you need to supplement with milk after breastfeeding. Easy to use and clean

After using 3 different electric pumps(including hospital pump) which hurt her, she gave up on pumping. After a week she got her second wind and decided to use her haakaa pump even though she was very skeptical about the design and wondered how on earth it gets suction. It took her 10 minutes to figure our and she successfully and comfortably(as in pain free and easy) expressed 10ml which was a huge triumph for her. Beautiful kit

Very happy with this little kit. The Haakaa really is one of a kind. I wish I had it for my first two babies. I collected 20ml my first go without having to pump, or do anything. Which makes me wonder how much I could have been collecting this whole time! The lid and stopper are great and the breast pads are really comfortable. They just hold what I produce in a let down but would be better suited to someone with less of a let down/ leakage. But nothing sticks to my skin, they are soft and don’t feel like plastic in my bra. I would definitely recommend this as a very practical and thoughtful baby shower gift, no questions.

Best value for money pump!

However, when I nurse my baby I find I have a bit of leakage on the other breast and it seems such a waste to let it absorbed into my nursing pad. Therefore I searched and found this Haakaa pump. I was very skeptic at first but for $30 I went ahead and bought one. After a couple of months use, I can honestly say this is the BEST impulse purchase I??ve ever made! On top of all the other benefits other reviewers have mentioned such as the ease of cleaning and the portability, Haakaa??s ability to pump the milk out is impressive. This has been tested on different breasts at different times of day, and the results have been consistent. I am so thrilled about this Haakaa pump that I use it way more often than Medela. So if you are still unsure about it, I hope my review has given you some insights into my own experience with both Medela (costs hundreds of dollars) and Haakaa (costs less than $40).

Great gift for moms with new babies!

I loved this! First of all, the packaging is top notch and will make any new mom feel special when she opens it. Also, the flower stopper for the pump is adorable! This pump is so much better than the Medela one because this is literally one thing to wash (two if you count the lid or stopper). I used this as a pump and also to catch milk on the breast that wasn't being nursed by my baby. The only drawback is that you HAVE to be able to get yourself to the letdown phase - which doesn't come as natural to me manually. So, I had to go to bathroom and lean over sink with warm wash cloth and within a few minutes I had my first drip. The disposable breast pads are nice - the material just feels nicer than the lansinol brand I was using. I know a couple people who are ... MoreI loved this! Third time mom here... I breastfed with both of my older two babies and so naturally decided to do so with my third.I don’t know how I made it through two and a half collective years of breastfeeding without this. It’s simple, silent, and collects what you would really otherwise lose - and then some. I can Use this when I feel engorged and the problem is solved without the time consuming/bulky nature of the electric pump. The only downside is once it gets full you can’t reattach it if it un-suctions until emptied or you will splash milk everywhere.The attached picture is after about seven minutes and is approx 3.5 oz. Not a fan of this design

I have another Haakaa and I love it and use it a lot. I wanted this one as a back up and I like the idea of a lid and stopper. However this Haakaa has a ridge around the rim of the flange. My other Haakaa does not have this ridge. It has a completely flat flange. For whatever reason the Haakaa with the ridge is really uncomfortable to me and doesn’t collect near as much as the flat flange the Haakaa I’ve used. I’m bummed I spent so much on this when I probably won’t use it much at all. That said the stopper and the lid are great and they’re interchangeable between other Haakaas.

Received different lid

Not due for another few wks so have not used but I didn’t get the same lid as pictured online. Everything else was the same as shown online the lid was silicone and grey but it didn’t have the pink opening slit which I imagine made it even easier to pour out your milk afterwards. Other than that looks good! I live in Utah not sure if what they have in the warehouses here are just old old who knows I had to order online Orr they don’t sell this whole kit inside any stores

lives up to the hype

I wasn't sure what to expect, but this is definitely a great purchase. I love that it is mostly hands free because of the suction, obviously if it gets squeezed or your breast gets compressed and loosens the suction it'll fall off, or if it gets too full. Pumping in general is not pain free, because of the suction and design there is some mild skin irritation while using the product but it goes away shortly after you remove it. My milk production is medium, using this about 15 minutes on each side I get 3 ounces; which is roughly the same maybe a little less than using the electric pump that insurance provides. I like that I am not attached to the wall which has helped me pump more frequent. You're not supposed to add fresh warm breastmilk to cold breastmilk, so my first pump I pour into a medela container and out in fridge, the second pump I leave in the haakaa and use lid and put in fridge, then I transfer both into a storage bag and freeze, which gives me a perfect 6 ounces per bag. Mine is the new version and came with the grey silicon lid.
