Your thumbs will get sore after 30 minutes of playing this game from the constant button mashing of the x and square buttons. Felt like I was plating super smash bros. The triangle button is virtually useless in this game. I think I might need a new controller. If you're into that kind of stuff, this game is for you. Have fun doing the same 4 levels over and over. But wait, you can slightly change up the level by adding modifiers that I can’t even tell make any difference. Woah, now that’s cool.

I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from this game. I bought it due to the price and the reviews I had read. The game is extremely addictive. The amount of times I’ve said “one more run” only to do 2-3 is crazy. The game is extremely challenging. It really doesn’t hold back and like the game Returnal, if you die, you basically start over again. This is not for those that have trouble with a challenge. If you prefer the COD style where you start the single level over I’d you die, avoid this.

I loved Hades so much I bought it on three different platforms! This game completely changed my opinion on rougelikes, a genre I was previously wary of. The game is challenging, but never feels cheap. It really rewards persistence, not only from learning and improving your skills, but also a with a really great story. I loved this game's take on the Olympic gods and the writing is well done--there are a lot of great moments. This is a must-play!

This game deserves all the awards that it has won, including game of the year on some sites. An absolute blast to play.Being that this game is a rogue-like, I was hesitant at first to try it. I ended up purchasing it on Switch a few months after release, having been finally persuaded by all the online love for the title. This game will most likely click with you regardless of your thoughts on the rogue-like genre, and that is due to how perfectly its executed. The runs themselves are fast and short. So even if you have a complete run, you're looking at 35-50 minutes of play time. Therefore failed runs (which you will have a lot of) can be as short as 15 to 20 minutes. This gives you that "one more try" hook before you stop for the day.On top of the runs ... Therefore failed runs (which you will have a lot of) can be as short as 15 to 20 minutes. This gives you that "one more try" hook before you stop for the day.On top of the runs themselves being so fun, the RPG elements are equally as addicting. You slowly build up your character after each run, so even if you think you're regressing in your skill on the controller, you'll be hooked by the fact you're permanently leveling up your guy in different ways between runs. Beyond that, this title has surprising longevity. The developers basically want you to have a run count that goes over 100. New systems and item trading mechanics unlock as you tally up more and more attempts.Lastly I'll note that I did re-buy this on PS5 (you're welcome Supergiant) in addition to the Switch, and it was worth it. Trophy hunting on PS5 adds new variation, and the 4k graphics are a big step up. Also the physical copy comes with a booklet which is a nice touch for collectors.
I've played this game on the switch and PS4. This is the best version by far simply due to the fact that it has almost no loading time. One never realizes how hard it is to go back to a game when they played a definitive version of it. The loading time is only a few seconds on the other consoles, but compound that by every room and every new run, and dialog and it's amazing how such a simple feature changes the pick up and play nature of a game.
This game is just the best. I already own it on Switch and PC, but I wanted that sweet sweet 60fps while I play on the couch. The gameplay is very fun and addicting. Progressing further and further with each escape attempt feels amazing! If you like rogue-likes, definitely consider picking up this gameNOTE: This version of the game does not support cross-save with Switch and PC. Not a deal breaker for me, but important to know before buying.
I've been gaming since before NES and I swear I never thought I'd enjoy Hades as much as I did. I've never played a game that is as replay able as this game. Every weapon changes the way you play the npc's are awesome the hor is great. I've beaten this game more than 100 times and this is coming from someone who usually beats a game once and shelves it right after. Also fun fact I own this on the switch and PS5 that's how much I love this game.
With the help of next gen hardware, Hades has never looked better! 4k 60 fps makes a huge difference and I’m able to spot out new details I never could on Switch. The higher frame rate improves the quality of the game so much, and I don’t think I can ever play it on Switch again! It stinks that you can’t move your save data over, but it feels nice and refreshing to start all over and avoid some of the mistakes I made on my first play-through.I highly recommend you purchase this game, and to support other indie games and developers! These indie developers have some of the brightest minds in the industry, offering a new perspective while not having a big company shooting down their ideas. I never planned to buy this game. I hate my Nintendo Switch compared to my Ps4 or PC. Then I got a Ps5 and Hades got released for it. I tried to find a review that would make me not get this game.....I couldn't find one. I watched videos and it looked ok. So after having cleared the game 8 times and much more to do (10 clears will give you credits I believe)....I can say that it's a really fun game. I was trying to complete some other games and I keep coming back to this game or wanting to play it. The save points and profression system keep this game from being a chore. In fact, every run will put you just a little more ahead. Give it a try for $30 and I think you'll enjoy it too.
This is a pretty fun game, it reminds me more of an arcade game like an old one you use to put quarters in. The story and the characters all look awesome and feel right. the goal is to escape hell but it does get a little old after you've tried like 100 times and you're still trying to escape. You just keep playing over and over but every time you get a little stronger and unlock some cool stuff. It's pretty addictive, I find my self saying "one more time". I got the game on sale, but the game still isn't a full priced game so all in all I've had a lot of fun playing it and I didn't feel like I just spent 70 bucks on something instead I got it for 20 so that really helped out because i don't think it's worth the full price of a game but It's still really fun and ...
