I am not a weightlifter! However, I do a lot of back breaking work involved with landscaping like carrying timber sleepers, bricks, bags of sand and cement; lifting numerous items and digging holes. My Harbinger 6in Leather Weight Lifting Belt has been invaluable. It provides great support and I feel refreshed after a hard days work.

I am a beginner so this belt suits me fine.My waste (just above hips) is currently 38-39 inches so I got an XL belt (luckily as I wouldn't have fitted a Large). I would say the if you're a 36 inch waist then consider the Large belt, and you'll probably be fine if you looking to drop a pant size in time. Otherwise consider the XL belt.It hasn't broken in properly yet as I've only used it a handful of times so far. Comfortable. So far the only limitation I am finding is the distance between each belt adjustment and getting the belt as tight as possible. The belt does the job, there may be other belts that are better in this area. Good construction. I'm happy with value for money and price point.

Great all around support when lifting, but especially when lifting heavy. Have used both 4" and 6" belts, and I find that the 6" padded leather section gives me not only more support, but a greater sense of security against back injuries. The belt is contoured down in size at the sides and front, to fit your body better while still allowing enough flexibility to move into position for the lift. Great for Squats, Deadlifts, Overhead Presses, and every other lift where you may want some extra support. Would recommend this belt to anybody! Great quality and design!
Solid, old-school quality offering excellent support.Haven't pushed any boundaries with it yet, but the reinforcement this belt provides the core inspires immediate confidence.Possibly not the best choice for a smaller person as the 6" width may inpinge somewhat, but at 187cm it works well.Reasonably priced, quality device that will last.
I can't believe I bought this. I've been lifting for a lot of years and knew not to buy anything harbinger. Everything I've ever bought of theirs is junk. This belt is cheap. Its unbelievably stiff. It would take forever to break in if it ever did. The leather is so cheap it would probably never fit good. I've tried three harbinger items and they all stunk. I knew better.
This is my first belt ever purchased. I use it for squats and deadlifts once I'm warmed up and on to my working weight. I can definitely feel a difference using this belt - if used properly you push your abs against it to stabilize your core, which definitely helps to make the lift more stable. I feel much more confident lifting heavy when using this belt as it takes a bit of strain away from my lower back, stabilozes and lets my muscles work. I wish I would have gone with the 4" belt though as the 6" is a little too wide for me (I'm a big guy - 6'6" 290lbs, and it's still too wide at the back). it's a nice belt and so far it has held up to the abuse I put it through.
I bought this belt about a month ago just because this year my focus was on improving my deadlift and log pressing. Long story short I fractured my L2-L3 a few years back and the ability to deadlift was gone due to back pain. This belt didn't work miracles and let me hit a new PR like some people think. It did give me the ability to start lifting small and work my way up. Back pain is still there but not bad enough to make me stop mid lift/press. First time wearing one of this contraptions but so far I like.
Writing this review after more than a month of usage. This is a decent quality entry level belt that is good for its price. The belt is rigid enough to provide a good amount of intra-abdominal pressure without being too uncomfortable or restrictive. It does an admirable job for beginner to intermediate lifters. So far, I have not had any issue with regards to durability. I would suggest threading the end of the strap through a elastic headband like you see in my photos rather than the actual belt loop. It adds convenience as well as reducing wear and tear. I think a lot of the durability issues that I've seen from other customers stem from having to bend or fold the strap excessively in order to thread the strap through the loop, more so if you have a lot of extra ... MoreWriting this review after more than a month of usage. Usually top grain leather belts cost at least over $100. This is made from low quality leather bonded by glue. The outer layer of the belt is actually a hard plastic material made to look like leather. However, it is generally a good product that does its job and provides good value especially when it's on sale.
I ended up switching from the 6inch to the 4inch belt just due to my body shape. It’s comfortable and sturdy and great for a beginner lifter. Takes a while to soften and conform but nothing insurmountable. Would recommend!
