Not recommending that other people do this, but I bought a way-too-big packet of roasted coffee beans and kept some in one of these canisters and some in the original paper bag while I used them up over about 3 months. I went through the beans in the bag first and now that I'm starting on the beans in the canister I can definitely tell the canister works.It's great, but not magic, so expect condensation on the inside of the glass if the ambient temperature varies too much.

Very nice storage jar with an airtight lid. Coffee beans like the dark but mine never seem to last that long. I have three of these sitting on my kitchen island and they look really nice.

Hands-down the best storage jars I have ever had. Don't just use them for coffee. Great for keeping the moisture out of nuts and other snacks too. Nice to have my food against glass and not plastic; the single flick release and lock is a joy.

Love this container. Beans are kept perfectly fresh and it's nice and easy to use and clean. No weird plastic smells as it's glass.
The canister is light, the lid is snug, the seal is perfect, and the lid lever is easy to operate.One thing though; when the lever is up the suction plate can easily move up enough to make the 2 lever axle clear the top of the lid. This wouldn't be an issue if the axle were fixed, but it's not. It's actually 2 pins that are free to slide out completely and drop who-knows-where.As long as when you wash the lid you're aware of this, you should be fine.
This goes nicely with my Hario pour-over set. I like the fact it is glass instead of plastic for part which touch the coffee. The vacuum lid works well too. It is quiet, I read in another review it is very loud, but mine is quiet when 'clicking' into place.
This is the near perfect vacuum jar. If it had the ability to remove the air inside it would be perfect. Having said this it does exactly what I need and I have not noticed any negative impacts on my coffee. It is far easier to dispense the beans from the jar than the standard coffee bag, it is more consistent in sealing than a coffee bag and it looks nice on my shelf.
Good and nice canister, but the vacuum is limited to the action of the small lever (you cannot vacuum more), and is not very strong. I put a marshmallow inside and didn't increase in size at all.
Looks good, works well and is easy to use.Has kept beans fresh in the cupboard. Wish Hario made an opaque version of this.
