I recently got the Hario V60 Starting Kit from AB, and it's pretty much what I expected – in a good way. It's a handy package that gives you all the basics you need for coffee brewing in one go. Whether it's the Hario V60 dripper, filters, or a coffee scoop, you'll find everything you need in this kit. It's a great choice for beginners, like me, because it simplifies the whole coffee-making process.

This kit can produce amazing coffee, no surprise. V60 has been around, people know about it. I bought this bundle because i though a matching carafe would be good to have. This bundle is also great value.Best of all, I really like the carafe. It pours great, doesn't retain much coffee, and has graduated lines denoting volume of liquid inside (which are fairly accurate imo).Only removing one star, because promotional images make it seem like you will get bleached filter paper while you receive just the simple brown ones.

My Hario V60 arrived within a couple of days in exceptional condition (as you would expect for a brand new product).Because the Hario V60 glass brewing kit comes with all of the required utensils, including paper filters, I was able to immediately brew myself a cup. I wasn't expecting my order to arrive so quickly though so I didn't have any single origin beans around; instead, I reached for a bag of Humbler, a delicious espresso blend by Proud Mary.Although Humbler is usually a bean for milk coffee, I was still able to make a delicious filter using the V60, it produced a delicious chocolatey, full-bodied flavour that I would happily drink at any Melbourne cafe. This weekend was the first time that I had the opportunity to take this fantastic filter coffee unit out for a test drive. After using it, it is clear that perfection is in simplicity. Filtered coffee has been made similarly over the last few centuries and the Hario V60 is the culmination of modern manufacturing and traditionalist coffee percolating techniques. I took it to my friends' house, so I could test out his specialist coffee beans and he was also impressed with the quality of coffee that this simple unit creates. He will also be purchasing one in the near future. If you want great coffee, grab a V60 and some good beans! (we preferred the V60 made coffee over his aeropress)
Works as expected. Currently troubleshooting my coffee to taste better (somehow I've made it both too acidic AND too bitter), might be worth getting different papers as the ones that come with it seem a little thin and prone to clogging (could just be me!)All-in-all, worth the money.
Did a lot of research into going from a basic coffee maker to doing pour overs, grinding quality beans and even preparing my own water. Decided on a V60 and this one came with a carafe. I ended up buying two for those times when I have guests and need additional coffee. Also purchased a scale, grinder and kettle. I now have coffee of the same or better than our local coffee cafes. Love this solution
Cheaper and easier to use than my Aeropress. Coffee taste nice too but can’t really say if there is a big difference compared to Aeropress; too many factors to consider.Delivery was quick including replacement of item and response from Alternative Brewing.Overall satisfied with the transaction.

This is definitely not the way to "ease your way into the aromatic world of specialty coffee," which is a task more suited to the Bee House or Militia systems. But the V60 does do an exceptional job of drawing out the subtle flavor profiles and nuances that make single origin and speciality coffees so desirable. The catch is that V60 is not at all forgiving and has a higher learning curve than other pour-over systems. My first V60 broke so this was a direct replacement. It brews just enough coffee for two plus a cup or two extras. The filter papers are plentiful and high quality, and the paper taste does not transfer to the coffee. The output is a clear cup of coffee just the way you like it (strong or weak depending on the amount of coffee you use).
