I love these harry Potter series and this book was actually my turning point in reading not that I did not read before that but I was attracted to series and trilogy after reading this I’m excited to give this set to our neighbor and classmates for them to enjoy and return. I have been wanting to read the whole series for a while and I am very pleased with the quality of this paperback set for the price. I expected mass market paperback quality considering it was priced apt.Always one of my favourite fantasy fictions. The box set was finely packed and the best gift I could give myself to survive this lockdown. No complaints, go ahead and indulge yourself into the best of worlds reading these books for knowledge, entertainment , vocabulary.

2018:Ha... well apparently I liked it more on the re-read. Still definitely not my favorite, and I still think log sections were boring, but a pretty satisfactory ending.2007: I thought this book was... boring. I swear nothing at all happened in the first 500 pages or so but Harry, Ron, and Hermione camping and arguing. Boring boring boring...Malfoy became a total non-character and said no more than 10 words in the entire book and you were left wondering when he became such a pansy. You were supposed to feel bad in the end when Lupin and Tonks died... but really, why? Lupin said about 10 words in this book just like Malfoy, and all it was was him being a loser and trying to run out on his new family. And then I'm supposed to feel bad about his death? One of the twins died, so you would think they'd have this big heart-wrenching scene with the other twin mourning, but no. Why was Hagrid being held by the death eaters at the very end? What were they going to do to him? Another complaint: Most of the fighting scenes were like this: "George was taking on Greyback. Luna and Ginny were attacking Bellatrix. Neville was holding off Yaxley." You couldn't picture any of it... there was no description at all.Let's talk about Snape. You get his story finally, but it's all as a memory in the pensieve. Like all the other characters in this book other than Harry, Ron, and Hermione, he said only five words. "Let me go get Potter..." That's it. So you see Snape for like two minutes and then he gets a very quick anticlimactic death and then you get his life story. Now I'm glad he's a good guy and all, but still... I wanted HIM to be in this book, not just his memories. Very lame. And on to Voldemort. All you get of him in this book is *voldemort flies around to X place* *voldemort kills X person* over and over. In the end, he was pretty unimpressive. The ending: The ending as a whole was pretty dumb, really. Harry sacrifices himself without actually sacrificing himself and he kills Voldemort without really killing Voldemort. Don't you think it was pretty lame that it was a WAR, and yet none of the kids ever used avada kedavra? If someone's trying to kill me and has killed my friends and family, I'd be doing more than the dang stunning charms. I know it's a kid's book and all, but still.

A bittersweet end to a much loved series

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows leaves the reader feeling bittersweet as the series comes to an end. It is fair to say that this final instalment does the entire series justice. Although the book loses pace partly in the middle it quickly speeds up again. The inclusion of Horcruxes and the feeling of having to learn with Harry creates an authentic, memorable reading experience. It seems that all loose ends were finally tied during this story although the ultimate ending '19 years later' leaves the reader wanting more. I believe that to improve the deathly hallows it would be necessary to give more insight as to what happened within those 19 years after the battle of Hogwarts. A story that ended how it started. Magic.

My mother kept me up to date with the Harry Potter books when I was young. Every release she was there with a first edition ready for me to read! After the chilling ending of the Half-Blood Prince I was ready for the epic conclusion! This book did not disappoint. I must have read it in two days. Every page beckoned me to read the next, and the next, and the next. Moments that made me laugh, cry, get angry, get sad, feel joy. It was a wonderful experience I was given by the author and my mum for purchasing these books. And as I grew up, I passed the book collection on to my younger sister, who I then got to watch go through her own journey with them. 1st edition releases of this book was a fantastic experience, one I can highly recommend to anyone.

Book fell apart. Trying to read loose pages is like the Crucio curse

The content of the book so far is fantastic, as would be expected. However I would strongly encourage you to buy a different printing of this book. The first 118 pages completely fell out of the book within the first day of my 10-year-old son reading it. He reads books all the time and this has never happened before, so I don’t believe it had anything to do with the user error. Harry potter books are a wonderful experience for the reader. Don’t let the cheap binding of this printing spoil it for you or your child.

End of a Saga!

End of an Epic journey,7 books full of magic & fun & friendship.7 books of constant thrills7 precious gemsIt's the last station. We're in the Endgame now.I loved the second half of this book wholeheartedly! it was thrilling & wonderful how it was going on! how they were enlightened by the information. how they solved the mystery! how they reacted, planned & how it ended. it was EPIC!the first half was mysterious too. I liked that.but the newspaper articles about the backstory was boring. & the part before the main story begin, & the camping-no-clues part, without anything interesting happens was a bit slow.

Everyone should have the opportunity to read Harry Potter books

I have a son in elementary school in the US. One of the things that a parent can do to create a good reader of their child, is to read to them out loud, everyday. So, I did. But after a certain age, the picture books are not necessary. My son was 8 when I read him the first Harry Potter book. He had too many questions and there were too many explanations. So, I tried again at age 10. Well, now I've read one chapter a night from book one and all the way through. By the time we read to book 4, there was some big words or uncommon words that caused us to pause and answer questions. That was good. That means he was paying attention and learning, and not just letting my voice lull him to sleep. Well, now I've read one chapter a night from book one and all the way through. By the time we read to book 4, there was some big words or uncommon words that caused us to pause and answer questions. That was good. That means he was paying attention and learning, and not just letting my voice lull him to sleep. The woman who wrote these books has such a wild and vivid imagination, colorful and explicit descriptions that we are both fascinated, mother and child. My son has actually gotten angry at times when I reach the end of a chapter... As he wants to know what happens next and hates to wait till tomorrow. He has seen all the movies. But, there is more to the Harry Potter story in the books than what could fit in a 2 hour movie. Prepare to read a whole chapter each night which could take about an hour to read out loud. You and your child can't help but to enjoy reading about what happens in this magical story. I am of the Christian faith, and I remember all the fuss some parents went on with about letting your child read about witches and wizards and dark magic. Well, it's fiction. You let your kids watch Thomas the talking train, Big bird, a life sized talking bird, and they survived. They can handle a story about magic and wizards and understand that this, too, is not real. So, we bought all the movies and all the books. They make great handmedowns. When one child or family is done, you can pass them on. Because we were reading only one chapter a night, we could not be bothered to borrow a book for that long. There are more than 30 chapters. So in buying the book you can take your time. The older kids have even eaten breakfast with a book in hand so there are some bacon grease finger prints on a few of my pages. Not for sale on eBay. Not something you can return to the library. We are going to read ours ragged. That's why we bought it. The older copies are just fine, and cheaper, since they were sitting on someone's shelf collecting dust. They print new books too, but the covers are different. I prefer the old covers. I hope you enjoy yours too. I did not have a parent read to me as a child, nor did I have such an opportunity to read these huge books. So this generation is really getting a treat. As a child I would have been intimidated by the size of the book. But, after reading the first few books, my son wishes there were more than 7 books and they could all have been thicker and he'd have been happier for longer. I highly recommend this 7th HP book.

Unnecessarily Long and Drawn Out.

Unnecessarily long and drawn out. About halfway through one of the movies Ron expresses his frustration that they were supposed to be looking for horcruxes but they were now looking for the Deathly Hallows instead. "So there's some other bloody thing we're supposed to be finding, too?" or something like that. I was right there with him. That said, there are parts in the book that would have been nice in the movie. Like Harry, Ron, and Hermione discovering that Luna's bedroom walls are covered with pictures of them and the word "friends," presumably making them think twice about how they've seen and treated her in the past - a touching moment in a story that could use more humanity and less running around.

Very disappointed, looks like a cheap knockoff

I ordered this book to complete the set of hard cover books for my son. When I opened the package, I was disappointed to see that the hard cover on this book it's not the same material as the others, it doesn't come with a sleeve. Also, this book is much smaller than my other one's. The letters are very tiny. Will be returning asap.* I took a picture to compare the size of the book. The one on the left is my original hard cover book, the one on the right is the one that I'm returning.

WHAT A WONDER IT IS!!!!!

THE SEVENTH AND final book in the Harry Potter series is easily the best volume of this amazing and record breaking series. It opened at a frantic pace, with a surprise appearance of the world's most hated magician in an early but doomed attempt to kill the story's hero right in the opening chapter. And from that narrow escape, the action simply did not let up. This book makes the reader *think*. It's still fun to read, of course, but you know by now that everything is at stake, so it's a different kind of fun from the earlier books. The series began to find its literary legs with book four, and life quickly got serious and deadly for our trio of magical superstars. These kids - and the world wide audience of book lovers that were hanging on JK Rowling's every word - soon learned that life is not always a bed of roses, its not always about a game of Quidditch, and its certainly not just about fun lessons in magic. Life is about love, and anger, and loss, and of course death, and all of this - and more - all began to hit home with book four.Books five and six continued to 'up the ante' when it came to representing the trials and tribulations of life (as much as any book can involving children studying to become wizards and witches...) but it was the end to book six that truly shook the world by it's foundations. And of course book seven can now be read (lived, experienced, and never to be forgotten) by another generation of readers, and what a book it is.Harry, Ron and Hermione each declared their individual intents to not return to Hogwarts at the end of book six (after those traumatic events...) and of course the only time the action focuses on that incredible castle is right at the end of the story. Harry was given the task of locating and destroying objects called 'Horcruxes' as part of his bid to kill Voldemort which are said to contain parts of the Dark Lord's soul. But as our Harry has been wont to do for six fantastic books, he gets distracted with new discoveries along the way, which cause their own set of problems both within the little group and without. And herein lies the beauty of the book's plot and how it relates to the rest of the series. In the meantime we are given a tale that is so incredible, so brilliant, so emotional and so heart breaking that you may well come to think it was the book that Ms Rowling was born to write. It was certainly a book that the world needed to read. Its certainly the finale that the series deserved. I expected a quality end to an incredible saga but i was stunned by the levels of depth and emotional impact the story possesses and gifts to the loyal reader. Spoilers prevent me from going into any form of detail, but just be prepared, book lovers, for your favourite characters to deal with some truly traumatic situations.Since Harry and Co are away from Hogwarts, they are, therefore, forced to deal with any and all problems they come across on their own. Once more we get to see our beloved heroes grow right before our eyes, sometimes smoothly, happily and with tears of laughter running down their faces. Other times, they fail to deal with the stresses and pressures of trying to save their world (and ours) and the trio borders on self destruction. But time and again, Ms Rowling saves the day with comebacks, surprise reappearances that lift the spirit of the reader, as well as the tone of the story no end, in ways that leave Han Solo and the Millennium Falcon for dead. The book is so beautifully written, and so brilliantly structured, that an alert reader may well wonder if the author wrote book seven first, and plotted the rest of the series around it. That may well sound ridiculous, but given the information that you are blessed with throughout the DEATHLY HOLLOWS experience, you may well be surprised to be given answers to questions from the earlier books that you did not know that you had.The final confrontation between Harry and Voldemort was more than brilliant. Goose bumps are guaranteed. Even now, writing this review an hour after finishing the book I can feel it's awesomeness and overall perfection floating on my mind. One could criticise the author for a potential lack of closure for *all* surviving characters, but the obvious refutal to that is that the books were essentially about the much loved and fabled trio, and not the plethora of extras which comprised the rest of the story. Some fans may well say these are the greatest books of this or any generation; but on the conservative side of the fence, it's certainly safe to say that DEATHLY HOLLOWS is a tale that is greater than the sum of its parts. The preceding six books all had their roles to play, and play them, they did. Book seven took the reader's mind, their heart, and their soul to places where no books have a right to be. And left you there to contemplate the wonder of the Harry Potter universe for as long as you cared, or dared. For that is the joy of Hogwarts, the power and strength of love and friendship, Platform 9 and 3/4, but most importantly, it is testament to the wonder of JK Rowling. And what a wonder it is.
