It is just as pictured. Crank winds a cord to lift umbrella. No tie supplied for it to secure umbrella from wind when lowered.

I bought this maybe 2 years ago, I had bought a counter leaver one, works well, and wanted more shade in large open area for my pets. Have bought a range (about 3) umbrella in stands, all have only 2 seasons if that... but from reading reviews now, that's all you can expect from them? agree, they all need to be crank driven, or they break, need a tie to tie around when down, and be careful how they lock into place at the top..string into second part.. some can be really difficult in a slight breeze... also the poles at the ends break trough the material traps at the ends in breezes.. I either covered or put mine completely away in shed during winter.. still thought 2 seasons wasn't a lot... time to get a patio I think..

I bought this umbrella as a special order which was an efficient service but I think the umbrella lasted about as long as it took to arrive in the store for pick up which was 2 weeks!! The pulley cord attached to the crank handle came undone and so the umbrella couldn't be put up or down. I returned it for a refund.
I will be returning this item. I’m not sure if there is a part missing but the pole won’t extend and there are no instructions.
I bought this umbrella a few weeks ago and it was easy to assemble. It fit in the spot perfectly (most umbrellas are 3m in span so it took me a long while to find one for my slightly more narrow space). The winding mechanism is great and works well for me - I'm short and it's hard to open and close the manual ones. The only thing is that it seems to be very high up (not just because I'm short... ;) ). It doesn't shade as much of an area and for long because the sun gets 'under' it. I may have to consider shortening the bottom pole...
Is taller than advertised, no strap to secure when umbrella is closed, very light and easy to move. Not bad for the price, would have given 5 stars if it hade the strap to tie it up when put down
Struggled to find a small umbrella for my courtyard and this one seemed to for the bill. However the pole is incredibly flimsy and the cover has been fitted so tightly the umbrella doesn’t open unless one of the arms is taken out of the pocket. There are very few umbrellas of this size so I am keeping it - but don’t recommend it for anyone seeking a robust and useful product.
We purchased this umbrella 2 years ago and it's still in good working order. We went through many umbrellas that broke, as the timber would snap when a strong wind would blow and we won't home to lower it. This umbrella has been a good investment and survived many strong winds due to the metal frame.
