Excellent product. My only issue was I had to purchase a separate 6ft. USB-C to USB cable at Target. The same type of cable that came with the HD PVR Pro 60 was long enough to connect to my router, which is great for recording in stand alone mode, but way too short to even reach my PC. It's too inconvenient having to move stuff around just for that. I prefer recording from the PC via Hauppauge Capture slightly more because, as you can see from the images, it seems I have both more control over adjusting the video quality and more video format options. Nonetheless, I've been a huge fan of Hauppauge for awhile now, and it's about time I started upgrading to capturing PS4 game footage in 60fps. EDIT: After playing trial-and-error with the Video Proc Amp settings in H. Capture, I found that setting ALL 4 knobsBright, Contrast, Saturation, and Hueto 50 helps gets rid of the watered-down, "grey shade" in the videos when recording directly to the SD card. I use the default settings (B=59, C=42, S=50, H=50) only for recording to the PC. I'm learning just as much as everyone else =P. I realize these settings are for Street Fighter V and may not work for any other game, but hopefully this helps.

I used this to capture laptop output during a training session. I used it in standalone mode (no software install required) because I didn't want software to risk something going wrong with training. I was very happy with the clear video result. And it was crucial that the passthrough video to the projector I was using was high quality and not delayed. I also used a wireless microphone into the audio input to capture the instructor. It excelled for this task and price. The only improvements I would look for: 1) more clear indication of when it is recording and not recording. It flashes green when recording and solid green when not, and being the instructor I was focused on other things and forgot once and had things flip flopped. 2) it would be really helpful if you ... MoreI used this to capture laptop output during a training session. I had classes running 4 hours and our editor had trouble when file sizes started getting enormous. I was happy that the lowest bitrate was still very good quality. It was most important that this worked reliably as I taught several class sessions and except for operator error once as noted, it worked fine.

Recording silky smooth retro games, like Super-C, that scroll 1 pixel per frame, for a solid smooth result. The old HD PVR 60 records and plays them back perfect, on the PC and on YouTube upload. But this HD PVR Pro 60 does not. Same game, same PC, same YouTube, same framerate, same bitrate, same movie format (MP4). The HD PVR Pro 60 shows several choppy frames per second. Replaying them frame by frame shows that all frames are present. Changing the bitrate and movie format fixes nothing. Why does the new Pro 60 not perform, and the old 60 works fine? This product does not do what it should. All old retro games are 60 fps solid. All silky smooth action games and racing games are 60 fps solid. The output of this device shows terrible choppiness. Still going to try more settings and will report back if I can get the product to do what it claims. (It looks like the new Pro 60 is 59.92Hz and the old 60 is 60.0Hz, for the same MP4 recording.) Minor annoyances: green light means no action. Flashing green means recording. The old model just changes color, which is easier to see and recognize, and requires no delay to wait for the flash. Please tell your UX designers to revert back to the perfect design. Flashing is not quick to interpret and is a bad idea. It is not distinct. The good: it does record, was easy to set up, and the one click button is an awesome idea. The old HD PVR 60 already does all of that though.

The manufacturer advertises the product as perfect for gamers who want to record their play. But that wasn't me. I wanted to record (legally) basketball games of the team I follow (Kentucky). The prduct ran straight into HDCP protections and could not transmit a signal. I could go back to the old tri-cable, although few television sets these days have such outputs. But I already have a Hauppauge for that. So for me, anyway, this device was a non-starter.
