honestly i was just looking for a cheap keyboard and i didnt really care about quality, but this was genuinely really solid and well built, the keys are really nice and it even comes with a key puller, the colours are pretty and the grey on orange is easy to see which i didnt think would happen lmao, i really like the sound and its pretty durable. its got a braided cable as well, and i think the reason its so cheap is cause it doesnt have full lights on the keyboard which isnt even an issue. the only issue is that its slightly unbalanced? but i stuck a couple sticky notes under it and it was fine :)

I bought this thinking it would be okay.I was wrong it's very impressive!Smooth * thocky* linear red keysNice textured keys. That numberpad layout is amazing. And it played first person shooters PC games flawlessly! And it's so cheap. But it's not made cheap. It also came with a keycap remover.

Context: I'm a programmer and part-type gamer. I have other 3 mechanical keyboards. This red switches feels confortable while programming, smooth and the sound is quiet with compared with other similars. The response while gaming is good, I know could be better kbs for gamming, but, common! for this price the quality is astonishing! I bought this for just gaming, but now I use it as my regular keyboard. At first I missed my accuracy for the numpad layout, but takes me like one week to get used to it and manage to programming very confortable. Gift yourself this keyboard, is cheap compared with others with the same quality, is pretty (for those like me who likes nostalgic/vintage features) and save space with the numpad layout.

Overall really delighted with KB and it's the once I use every day. ONYA HAVIT! (Onya is Australian for "good on you"). 1) Keyboard is compact, which makes it really practical on desk. But it means I have to consciously not spread my fingers or I make typos. 2) I don't know what cherry red feels like, but the havit keys are nice to type on. 3) build quality is very good. 4) wish usb cable was detachable to make it easier to transport - it's small enough to take to work.
Probably one of the best value for money mechanical keyboards out there. Solid build, nice colours, comfy keycaps, good switches. The keypad design is smart, but if you actually use it, chances are you'll have to also type +,-,/,* signs which becomes a little impractical cause you'll need to use two hands! Think about that...
If I'm being perfectly honest, I bought this keyboard on a whim. For years I've been a diehard Logitech peripherals user, but my keyboard was extremely difficult to clean and had not been designed with an eye toward repair or refit. And I had wanted a new mechanical keyboard anyway. So I researched. And researched. And researched. (It's what I do.) And the brand name HAVIT came up again and again when it came to affordable, durable, quality mechanical keyboards. But man! Call me old if you must but I'm not a fan of the current style of all-black keyboards with LED styling. It's distracting and I'm an excellent typist - I don't need to look at the keys often, if ever. Then I saw the KB487L and I just . . . fell in love with the look. It's distracting and I'm an excellent typist - I don't need to look at the keys often, if ever. Then I saw the KB487L and I just . . . fell in love with the look. It's retro, it's different - and I knew well that if I didn't like how it looked in person, I could change the keycaps without much effort. And at its price point it wasn't much of a risk. Fine. Why not give it a try?And it got here and I hooked it up to my desktop and started some editing work and . . .I love it. I just love it. The tension is right, the keys are clicky in the way that I like them, and all anti-ghosting tests, it has passed with flying colors. I'm tempted to buy three or four more of this exact model for going to the office (whenever that is, thanks lockdown), travel, et cetera.I only have two minor quibbles that make this less than perfection:1. When the NumLock is engaged, there is a red LED behind the backspace key that is the only LED on the keyboard. But since I leave the NumLock on pretty much all the time, once in a while I see that little red LED light and it bugs me a bit. I may have to violate warranty and disable the LED - I wish there were an option to disable it via software or a switch.2. Because of the height of the keyboard I've had to dig an old keyboard wristpad out of mothballs. It would be nice if there were an attachable/detachable wristguard option. But, as I said, that is just a minor quibble.I love this keyboard. Best purchase I've made in a while!
The product is pretty much exactly what I was looking for.The color scheme is great and the key layout makes the keyboard smaller without having to tradeoff between some function keys or the numpad. The only real issue I have with this is that the font color of the orange keycaps make it really hard to read sometimes but to be honest, that's a rather minor problem given my overall satisfaction with this keyboard. The other thing I would like to say is that if you ever release a product that is exactly the same except the usb cord is detacheable I would for sure buy that even if I already bought this!!
Can I be honest that I didn't need specifically a "gaming" keyboard? I needed a compact keyboard for my limited WFH desk space, but also wanted something more solid than the external keyboards that come with our corporate laptops. I also needed something with proper ergonomics (multi level keys) and wanted responsive keypresses (mechanical). Pleasantly surprised with this unit. Feels as solid and responsive as my old IBM Model M keyboards, but not quite as loud. Did a typing test just to see how I can cruise on it, pulled 120wpm at 99%, that's not bad since I'm still learning the new feel. Also my carpal tunnel hasn't flared up since I started using it, unlike the flat membrane keyboard that came with my corporate machine. Good buy for the price, would buy again.
Was excited to use these different switches that I spent about $60 on, however after forcibly removing (and in the process unintentionally destroying) a garbage Jixian Red switch, turns out they are soldered onto the board. I don't have a soldering kit nor was I looking to buy one or learn the skills necessary to do this. Also the light cannot be shut off. TBH everything else was fine, however I wish they said up front the switches are not hot swappable. Don't see it stated anywhere.
i love the switches and dont find any difficulty with the keys themselves. many reviews talk about the poor keycaps, and while this may be the case, the keycaps are easily removable and cheap to replace. i haven't found any issues with them yet, however.for red switches, the keys are quite loud, so if you are looking for a silent keyboard, try something like black, grey, or silent red switches.the only issue ive found is turning on the num-pad backlight. pressing fn+numlock isn't doing anything for me like the instructions say, so if anybody finds out how pls let me know!overall, great keyboard especially for the price.
