That is what caused me to pause and really consider the purchase. āWhat if the AirPods Max is like putting HomePods on your ears?ā That was worth it to me. After setup was completed, I put the headphones on my ears and heard the first sounds through the AirPods Max. It was a Christmas song that I had heard dozens of times before. The sound was so rich, deep, and clear that it was like I was hearing the song for the first time. āOk, there is no way these sound this good.ā At that moment, Robyn, my fiance, walked into the room and said, āSo, are they like having HomePods attached to your ears?ā All I could do was nod yes. She gave me a look and I handed them over to her. She put the headphones on her ears and scrolled through my library until she found something she wanted to play. She then said she had to have a pair. When I test headphones, I have a few go-to songs I like to try out so that I can get an idea of the listening experience of the headphones from every angle. The songs are pulled from a variety of genres including soundtracks, rock, grunge, punk, classical, and even a bit of rap. The AirPods Max does an incredibly nice job with all of them. The headphones keep a nice, deep bass sound while protecting the integrity of the rest of the track. I also found that vocals are crisp as well and I really love that as I turn up the volume, that I donāt get any distortion. Thatās not been the case with other headphones Iāve used. Overall, Iāve been impressed with all the features of the AirPods Max. Hereās a brief rundown of my thoughts on the main features of the headphones. Active Noise Canceling (ANC): Until I used the AirPods Max, the ANC on the Sony headphones was the best Iāve ever used. I took the Sony headphones on a flight a few years back and never heard the airplaneās engine noise. Therefore, Iāve always regarded the ANC on the Sony MDR-1000X as the ābestā. While I havenāt taken the AirPods Max on a plane yet, I can say that it deadens ambient noises like dogs barking, vacuums, and TVs that are left on in the background. Mesh Headband: I love the look of the headband. I think it looks very clean and it accentuates the lines of the AirPods Max. The design is right up my alley. Weight: Iāve heard some people say that the weight of the headphones is an issue for them. I have noticed that they feel a bit heavier than other headphones Iāve used, but the weight seems evenly distributed to me and so it doesnāt bother me. Iāve worn the headphones for several hours at a time and have not had any issues with headaches or soreness. Buttons: I am a big fan of the buttons. This is odd for me to say since I never thought I would be a proponent of moving to analog from digital, but Apple did a nice job of blending in the Digital Crown and the ANC button. Smart Case: This is one thing I would have reconsidered if I were designing the AirPods Max ā the Smart Case. I really consider it more of a āsleeveā than a case because ā well, thatās what it is. The sleeve is made with a single piece of what seems to be polyurethane material and utilizes magnets for the closure. While the sleeve does protect the metal earpieces of the headphones from getting scratched up, for the most part, it doesnāt protect the headband and there is even a cut out on the bottom that leaves the headphones exposed to the elements and potential damage. I also noticed that when I take the headphones out of the sleeve that the AirPods clink together. The only way Iāve been able to stop that from happening is if I physically place my hand there. Even though there might be a few minor things I would like to see improved about the AirPods Max, Iām absolutely thrilled with them. They are far superior to any other listening experience Iāve had and think that their price tag is worth the investment. Even though the cost is prohibitive for many, if you want the ultimate listening experience, I canāt recommend the AirPods Max enough.

**Apple AirPods Max - Silver** **Rating: 4.5/5 Stars** When I first laid my hands on the Apple AirPods Max, I was skeptical. I've used a variety of over-ear headphones before, but none came with a price tag quite like these. However, after a few weeks of daily use, I can confidently say that these are more than just a luxury itemāthey're a game-changer. **Personal Insights:** As someone who spends a lot of time commuting, the first thing that stood out was the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). The transparency mode is equally impressive; it feels almost natural to hear the world around me when needed, without taking the headphones off. **Pros:** 1. **Sound Quality:** The audio experience is phenomenal. The sound is crisp, clear, and balanced, with deep bass and vibrant highs. Whether I'm listening to a podcast, classical music, or heavy rock, everything sounds fantastic. 2. **Comfort:** Despite the heftier build compared to other headphones, the AirPods Max are surprisingly comfortable. The mesh headband and memory foam ear cushions distribute weight evenly, making long listening sessions a breeze. 3. **Build Quality:** These headphones feel premium from the moment you unbox them. The stainless steel frame and anodized aluminum cups scream durability, and the silver color gives it a sleek, modern look. 4. **Seamless Integration:** As an Apple user, the seamless connectivity with my iPhone and MacBook is something Iāve come to rely on. Switching between devices is effortless, and the spatial audio feature with dynamic head tracking in supported content is immersive. **Cons:** 1. **Price:** The most obvious downside is the cost. These are not budget-friendly by any stretch, and it's hard to justify the price unless youāre deeply invested in the Apple ecosystem or an audiophile. 2. **Case Design:** The smart case is a bit of a head-scratcher. Itās stylish but doesn't offer much protection, and carrying it around feels cumbersome. 3. **Weight:** While Iāve mentioned the comfort, the headphones are on the heavier side. For some, this could be a deal-breaker, especially during long periods of wear. **How It Fits into My Life:** The AirPods Max have become my go-to headphones for nearly everythingāwhether Iām diving into a work project, relaxing with music, or enjoying a movie on my iPad. The noise cancellation has been a lifesaver during flights, and the audio quality makes even mundane tasks like walking to the grocery store feel more engaging. **Who Should Buy This:** If youāre an Apple enthusiast who values high-quality sound and design, the AirPods Max are worth considering. Audiophiles who want a premium audio experience and people who spend a lot of time in noisy environments will particularly appreciate the ANC feature. However, if you're looking for a budget option or aren't heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem, these might feel a bit extravagant. If youāre ready to elevate your audio experience and donāt mind investing in quality, the Apple AirPods Max could be the perfect companion for your daily life.

Due to Apple making a more quality product and having the frame be out of metal, the headphones are heavier than competitors. After 2-3 hours of me wearing the headphone, my head starts to hurt from the weight of the headphones on me. This makes me not use the AirPod Maxes as much as I would like. Another issue is the sound. People are more than satisfied with how loud the headphones are, but I personally like my music really loud when I listen. The AirPod Maxes arenāt as loud as AirPod Pros and that is due to them being over the ear headphones, but you can easily fix this by adjusting the equalizer on music apps like Spotify. My last complaint is the noise cancellation mode. It has taken me almost 4 months to get use to the noise cancellation mode. When activated, the only way I can describe it is when your ears plug themselves when you have elevation change, but it also feels like the headphones are pushing inward on you.

They automatically connect to the last connected device as soon as you turn the device on, this makes things very convenient. I also wanted to add that you have a great feeling when you put them over your ears as your ears just plop right into the muffs. At the end of the day, with all of the positives of this headset, it is definitely worth the price when comparing them to other brands. I highly recommend anyone else to purchase them if you are thinking about it and purchase them from Best Buy as they make purchasing speedy and convenient for everyone.
I'd been dithering between choosing Apple's AirPods Max or the more expensive Bang & Olufsen H95s (which John Lewis also sell at time of writing). I read reviews which said the latter sounded better, but in the end after trying both of them I felt that for my needs (basically wearing them during my commute and while travelling), the AirPods Max just provided a bit more comfort while I didn't notice that much of a difference sound wise between the two - actually the AirPods Max's sound felt "bigger" and more rounded to me. Apple's noise cancellation on is also incredible. The controls on the AirPods Max are really intuitive. Apple's noise cancellation on is also incredible. The controls on the AirPods Max are really intuitive. There's a digital crown you can twist and turn for volume and press to skip through tracks or answer / end calls, and a noise cancellation button to switch between the different modes - noise cancellation and transparency (which lets conversations through). The sound (to my untrained ears) is brilliant - you do really hear bits in music you haven't noticed before. I just left the EQ settings on my phone to off to enjoy songs as the artists meant you to hear them. And they work seamlessly with Apple devices - connecting and switching between devices automatically and quickly. So why only four stars and not five? Firstly I'm worried they won't stay pristine for long - they look like they'd be fairly easy to scratch, even though I'm planning on taking very good care of them. Secondly - and I'm not the first to say this - the case. Apple provides a wrap around case that only protects the ear pads and not the headband. And it's not a hardshell case either so it in itself looks pretty easy to mark and scuff.Overall though I'm very happy with my AirPods Max. I just bought a replacement hard case for them - gotta look after these properly!
I am an audiophile and have sold and listened to system that were over a million dollars, I left that at its peak the late 90 and 2000's. So these are hands down the best Bluetooth headphones I have ever heard. I bought 3 pair of them, me, my husband, and best friend from Bestbuy and had never heard thm before I bought them and I was worried about them not stacking up and being not to my expectations. So the sound, it is amazing I hear the full spectrum of sound 20hz to 20000hz and perhaps above for imaging. They have good flat sound where the bass is not blaring and distorting and fake or just non-existent, that being said they do have some really good bass, they are the full range of sound with good mids and highs too. I was impressed how loud they can go up to and never distort. Also one of my other favorite feature on how fast they charge 5 min and they are up to 50% its really awesome and amazing. So even if you use them you could take a quick break and they are redy to listen for a few hours more. Apple music and TIdal sound great in FLAC. I have given lots of gift but truly these are yhe best gift I ever gave my husband he uses them all the time and every day, he tend to get something as a gift and never really used it, thats the complete opposite with these maybe his Iphone was another good gift to him. The quality is really good with the aluminum ear cabinet its light and rigid which is what you want, it also uses a large speaker so it can produce the lows, the sound isolation is really cool and works really well, press the button and the outside sound nearly disappears, press it again and you can hear a person trying to talk with you really well, and why does that happen when your listening to lol. Press it again and you are back to isolation. Its so easy to pair you just put them on and they are already showing up on the ihone screen which is so cool and they move right over if I want to listen to my Ipad or even move to my macbook pro, The spacial audio sounds great albeit not really having all the speaker in the headphones to fully reproduce that but that is probably to come soon I imagine. They are comfortable to wear for hours which is so important. There is so much more but I definely recommend them, its some if the best monies I spent on electronics, I would tell you if you are on the fence just buy them you wonāt be sorry.
I really loved these headphones. The sound quality and noise cancellation were terrific for me. I also love the convenience of the digital crown. Although most complain about the case, I LOVE it. The headphones would have been perfect if Apple had not had this error.I ended up going with a pair of Bose QC Ultras out of necessity. These headphones allow me to watch the TV/game through the headphones, and when someone calls me, it quiets the TV and announces the call. This is a true multipoint connection because all points stay connected and interact with each other. I also own much cheaper Skullcandy Crushers and Evos, which have a true multipoint connection. This issue may not be a deal breaker for most, but it was for me. After saving for these headphones for nearly eight months, I was past excited to buy them. The simple joy of unboxing an Apple product is worth its weight in gold. When I realized that these costly headphones did not have a true multipoint connection aside from their Apple-branded products, I wanted to slap my own face with a powdered hand! Unbelievable!
Despite complaints regarding lack of updated chip etc that may be present in the AirPod pros, the over ear AirPod maxes are a different breed of headphone in the Apple lineup. They took the āif it aināt broke donāt fix itā approach and despite peopleās skepticism, this is still a top tier premium headphone. This headphone is in a class of its own regarding luxury listening, being better build quality and a higher price range than the Bose, Sony and Sonos but not so high in price as the Bowers and Wilkins or B & O offerings. This sits in the middle as a premium noise cancelling headphone with premium metal build quality, excellent noise cancellation, best in class transparency mode, rich and detailed sound especially utilizing spatial sound with music and movies, and ...Ā MoreDespite complaints regarding lack of updated chip etc that may be present in the AirPod pros, the over ear AirPod maxes are a different breed of headphone in the Apple lineup. This sits in the middle as a premium noise cancelling headphone with premium metal build quality, excellent noise cancellation, best in class transparency mode, rich and detailed sound especially utilizing spatial sound with music and movies, and imo the best looking and most sleek design of any headphone in the market. Adding USB C and the slew of new colors gives this headphone the facelift it needs to continue being a top of the line headphone in the market. The new midnight color is amazing in person. And finally, the AirPods Max as expected fit so seamlessly into the Apple ecosystem that it makes it the best choice no matter how new the other offerings are. Despite the new Sonos Ace having newer bells and whistles as far as tech advancements, the noise cancellation and sound quality is better in my opinion on the AirPods Max still to this day not to mention better looks, build quality and working more seamlessly in the Apple ecosystem. All in all its impressive for a headphone from 2020 to be more than holding its own against newer headphone competitors that have gone through 2 new iterations since then. The minor refresh these new AirPod maxes got are frankly all they needed considering how Apple knocked it out of the park the first time with these. If you are upgrading for usb c and the new colors or you want to get these for the first time, these are definitely a must buy.
I absolutely LOVE these headphones, theyāre by far the best overear headphones you can buy-especially if you own/use them with an Apple device. Theyāre absolutely top quality headphones that any audiophile would love and appreciate, and theyāre also absolutely gorgeous and beautifully designed, as all Apple products are. I love the range of colors available as well. One of the biggest, most stand out features of these aside from the excellent sound quality is their exceptional noise cancellation. These have THE best noise cancellation of any headphone on the market, regardless of price. No matter how loud and busy the world around you is, once you turn on noise canceling, it completely shuts the world out and lets you enjoy perfect silence or allows you to listen to ...Ā MoreI absolutely LOVE these headphones, theyāre by far the best overear headphones you can buy-especially if you own/use them with an Apple device. No matter how loud and busy the world around you is, once you turn on noise canceling, it completely shuts the world out and lets you enjoy perfect silence or allows you to listen to your music or watch videos/movies without any background noise affecting and disturbing you. I also like the controls on the headphones themselves, as itās very simple and intuitive. Thereās a dedicated button just for the noise canceling and transparency modes as well as a small dial similar to whatās on Apple Watches that controls volume as well as play/pause, skip/next track and previous track, and also allows you to summon Siri as well as answer or decline and end calls (you also can do all call and text functions by voice, as well as Siri reading out incoming texts to you) these headphones also work with Apples spatial audio and head tracking, which can be turned on/off any time, but it unfortunately is a feature only available when used with an Apple device, and one other cool feature only available with Apple devices is the Find My feature, which allows you to be able to always see where your headphones are on a map in the event you lose them, so it helps make sure youāre never going to lose these and always be able to find them, which is an awesome feature.
For years I have been searching for a great over-ear headphone for the gym and for leisurely wear around the office / while walking about. Sound quality wise - these stack up very well with the best from Bose, Sony, Sennheiser, and Beats. The noise cancelling is excellent - the noise from a city, gym, loud office conversations, or even a tv on in the same room just disappears instantly. I also work in a research laboratory that requires regularly running noisy vacuum pumps - this is completely cut as well. The battery life is great and I could go at least an entire day straight or an entire week with a few hours used per day without charging, at least so far (only had these for about a month). The battery life is great and I could go at least an entire day straight or an entire week with a few hours used per day without charging, at least so far (only had these for about a month). Obviously, integration with apple products (iPhone, iPad for me) is seamless. However, where these really set themselves apart for me is the comfort and on-head profile. Until now, I had only found options that were too bulky, too hot, hurt my ears after 60 minutes, or sat too loose and easily fell off. I have been using the Airpods Max at the gym (primarily lifting) and they always feel secure, it takes quite a sweat before they feel hot, and the profile is the sleekest of anything I have come across. The construction is super solid and feels very durable, there doesn't appear to be any weak point in the pivoting / connection of the ear cups to the headband that will wear out quickly or break. The fabric and headband supports both feel quite durable as well. One key downside - Apple is still using lightning port for these headphones. It is long past time that uniformity across all products is imposed and a move to USB-c for all headphones, phones, tablets, and laptops is required.Where I leave one star off is simply this - I am not sure that the advantages in the fit, sleekness, and durability are worth a ~$150-200 premium over the most comparable products from other brands. I realize that Apple went with a higher margin, lower sale volume strategy on these, but if I was setting a fair pricepoint, I would say they are worth more like $450 instead of $550.Overall, no regrets and loving this purchase. The Airpods Max fit every way I want to use them!
