I want to start playing at church and doing more gigs. I'm a versatile guitar player from percussive fingerstyle to classical to rnb to neo soul to math rock to contemporary to jazz and I sing as well. This let's me do all that and a mic IO for live gigs is just amazing! #sweepstakes

I've owned an 11 Rack for several years and always loved the sound quality of the unit. The HeadRush takes all that and makes significant improvements. I A/B'd the HeadRush against the 11R and yes, they are similar but there are definite improvements to the sound with the amp models sounding more natural without the need for added EQ. The dynamic response is also improved allowing very expressive picking responses to shine through and backing off the guitar volume cleans up all but the most high gain amp models very well.Editing is where the HeadRush really shines through - everything is quick, intuitive and fun! Hands-free editing is a breeze and makes on-stage tweaks simple and quick. The ability to import 3rd party IR's allows even more control over your end tone as speaker cabinet modelling is just as important as the quality of the amp & effect models. The unit is built like a tank and reasonably large so it is heavy but you forget all that when you see that magnificent 7" touch screen!Overall, a significant improvement in all areas to the already capable 11R and a unit I would wholeheartedly recommend.

I recently upgraded from the Gigboard to the Core and I'm definitely pleased. Models seem to have more depth and dynamics. I haven't had an opportunity to try the vocals, so I cannot comment on that functionality. The wifi and Bluetooth connectivity options are very handy and have worked well for me so far.

I ordered the Headrush Core from my Sweetwater Sales Tech, Kris E. and he overnighted it for me, had it the next day!!!! Out of the box, the Core was so easy to use, program and play. The amp models, cab, IR's and effects are spot on.. if you get one of these pedals, I suggest that you join a Facebook Headrush group, or some sort of user group. Awesome pedal, great service from Sweetwater too.
This has to be one of the easiest to use, and best sounding multi-fx available today. (Especially...)I have a few different multi-fx units and this MX5 uses all internal storage and software, which is convenient for a bedroom/basement guy like me.Just update the firmware to get latest software/amp & effects (which is a breeze) and you're jamming. There's a global eq and so many routing options, you'll never use it all. But most've all, it sounds phenomenal! Rout it into an effects loop return or Poweramp in, or even just the front end of any amplifier or headphones, and you're in business. The only cons are the switches are a little different than conventional "mxr" type, but there's always a learning curve with this type of gear so be patient and have fun. And also a simple drum machine would've been nice to add with the awesome included looper which also is easy to use. But integrating some drums is very simple with all the storage and routing options. But the Dlx Tweed amp sim combined with drag & drop touch screen is well worth the price of admission here. Don't listen to the haters trying to sell other $2K multi-fx units and profiler/modelers. Headrush is same guys that make Avid pro-tools and a lot the effects in this unit, are the exact same in pro-tools. Mine has worked flawlessly and I would purchase this again.
This unit is amazing. It is extremely versatile, very easy to use, and extremely configurable. The factory provided rigs are OK, with a preponderance of distortion rigs that overwhelm everything and just a few clean rigs whose tone I like. There are a handful of rigs that I use out-of-the-box, but the real usefulness comes in making your own rigs, which is extremely easy and configurable. You can select from a wide range of amp and cabinet/mic models, but I often want the sound of my own amps so I have created some rigs that don't have any amp or cabinet in them, simply the stomp box effects, and they work great with my amps. This thing is rugged and built like a tank so I anticipate that it will last. The effects themselves are pretty well designed, for the most ... MoreThis unit is amazing. This thing is rugged and built like a tank so I anticipate that it will last. The effects themselves are pretty well designed, for the most part, although the documentation is lacking regarding the effects and their parameters - you just have to put the effect in your rig, tweak the parameters and see how it sounds, which is quite easy to do. Some of the effects are a mystery to me (e.g. figuring out how to get a useful tone from the harmonizer or the octaver), but most of the effects are easy to understand and use. It helps if you know the history of pedals, since this unit assumes that you will be able to associate the name HeadRush has given an effect on this unit with its counterpart in the pedal world. Assigning stomp button positions to effects in your rig is a snap, and the hands-free mode actually works as advertised. All-in-all this thing does what it says and does it very well. It is fairly expensive, but I waited for a sale and got a pretty good deal from MF. If you are looking for a tone in which the effects play a supporting part, this is a great unit.
It was fine for 30 minutes. Then I connected to WiFi and the device said there was a firmware update. So I updated the firmware and it is now unusable. Back and forth with Andertons, got a replacement, and updating the firmware again did exactly the same thing. But Andertons then said the first unit I returned was perfect on inspection. They advised plugging it into a different amp, like that is even a possible cause. Still tried to remind them that it was fine before the firmware update. Anyway now left with a £700 paperweight. Appears related to a noise gate issues you’ll see from the video. Before could flip from one preset to the next and the volume would stay the same, and now each rig has different volumes and if using a noise gate only picks up intermittently
Great user interface and sound options. My first real foray into digital after trying emulation through my Katana. After I clone my nice pedals I might make the switch. Sounds best through an FRFR cabinet. I tried amps but the preamp colors the sound. Very fun.
This thing is a killer!! I have an HX effects & there's no comparison....really! I strongly advise when building your rigs, don't build them to run multiple guitars through a couple over all. Build a rig for each guitar you are going to play....try it & you'll see what I mean. I bought the powered speaker too.....its garbage. It sounds like you're underwater. I run through my Marshall dsl & my Orange rockerverb w/2 10 inch speakers.....at the same time! My new sound is GLORIOUS!!! Try it... yours will be too!!
