The reusable carry case (described & pictured) had been removed a s replaced with a disposable plastic box. The ear plugs are great. They make a big difference to music volume at gigs. Just FYI: they make it very difficult to talk to people as your own voice sounds very loud in your head by comparison.

When I used these for the first time, I thought they were great! I saw a 1 star review of these, saying that they blocked no sound: THAT IS NOT TRUE!!!!!!!!!!! The reason that this person said they don't block any sound is probably because they didn't put them in correctly. On the back of the packaging, it should tell the correct way to put them in. The reason person said the earplugs don't block any sound is most likely because they just put them in their ear, and if you do that, they won't block all that much sound. If you put them correctly (lifting the ear upwards, and outwards, and placing the earplug in the ear, and twisting until secure) they will block sound. And trust me, I used these while playing the drums, which have a lot of different frequencies from small, high pitched cymbals to big low-pitched bass drums. If your planning on spending $40 on Erasers earplugs DO NOT!!!!!!!! You can buy these instead, and save money, but still have accuracy, and protect your ears at the same time!

I use these two ways. First off, I use them when playing with my Praise Band at Church, during practice and performance. I use a screen around my drum set-up, so these plugs help defeat the "confined sound." They allow me to hear everything while offering adequate hearing protection. I also keep a set with my motorcycle to cut down on background noise. They work great!

Now that the cows have escaped, time to close the barn doors. I've played paying gigs since 1970.All styles and plenty of LOUD rock and roll. My ears would be numb and I'd have half-hearing and it would wear off by noon the next day. I know I have hearing damage. My right ear feels like 50% these days. But I couldn't wear the sponge type earplugs; they cut out all but low, woofy, bass freq's. I knew about these type back in 1991. But didn't buy them till now. The band can't be tight if you can't hear high-end ticks and transients. These reduce everything across the board from low to high. Glad I got some before I went completely deaf and/or needed hearing aids. Played a jam last Thursday and it didn't matter if the 2 guitars had a mini "volume war" and sneaked ... I Just got these last week when my ears were ringing after practice. We practice in a small concrete basement and I stand next to the drummer and speakers as there is little room. My personal test: I put them in my ears and had my m-audio monitors playing some rock, I turned the volume down until I could just barely hear anything. I took them out and found that I could still not hear anything WITHOUT THE PLUGS! I did the reverse where I turned up the speakers to where I could hardly hear them and put in the plugs, I could hear it just as well. I think it will take some getting used to for a while, I played a small concert yesterday and had them in the whole time. If you don't want to cancel out as much sound you can insert them slightly loose or push them in tight. ... MoreI Just got these last week when my ears were ringing after practice. I was told by someone that it looked like I had earrings on, but other then that they are invisible. BUY THEM NOW and save your hearing for your grand kids.
I've developed Tinnitus to the point where after 40 years of drumming I had to either quit, which would be like not breathing, or finally find some protection that didn't muffle everything which is really frustrating!I saw an interview with Steve Vai. He highly recommended these saying he finally found something that allowed him to hear but protects his hearing at the same time. I was skeptical when I saw the price of these, but Steve Vai isn't some clown who talks out his rear so I bought a set and tried them tonight at a rehearsal. With amps blaring, I could hear every nuance of my drums. I could even still sing background with these things! I've paid over 300 bucks for garbage, and these were working great! When I took them out, my ears didn't hurt, and the ... It was as if I hadn't played!Look, these are really inexpensive, but they work Great! Once you damage your ears, it's permanent. You can keep from doing more damage, and these will do it.They're comfortable, (I have average size ears), and unobtrusive. Save a lot of money and heartache. Give these a try! I highly recommend them.
These are very comfortable and effective earplugs, allow enough music/sound through for listening/communication but protect ears from most levels of sound one is likely to encounter in regular occupations. Probably not enough protection for really loud machinery etc.Oddly, these "size small" Hearos HiFi earplugs are SMALLER than the last size S pair I bought. Any smaller and they'd be too small for me. See image for older vs newer earplug. Re: durability, I have had old pair for over 3 years, almost daily use, and they are finally beginning to crack around base of largest silicone baffle.
My sister and I have sensitive ears and want to prevent any hearing damage but also wanted to go to a concert, so we picked these up last-minute on our way to the show. They worked so well! No ringing or throbbing in our ears and we still enjoyed the show. Recommended 👍
When I attend concerts or go to loud clubs, I don't mind using the foam plugs. However, I bought these for practicing and playing in my band mostly because they are easier to put in quickly. They also don't muffle as much as the foam plugs. The sound that comes through seems more pure, just softer. They go far into your ear, which took me some practice at first, but I got used to it and they don't fall out when I'm dancing around. I can hear my guitar solos clearly over the drums and my ears don't ring when I'm trying to sleep after a gig or rehearsal.High Fidelity-series long-term earplugs with the new shorter stem. these work exactly as advertised. i could hear everything with absolute clarity, at a greatly reduced volume. i've had hearing issues my whole life (i wear hearing aids), but that doesn't mean that loud noise isn't painful or damaging. i was always searching for the perfect ear protection, using everything from earmuffs, to wads of cotton, to in ear monitors, to my hearing aids turned way down. the in ears and the hearing aids work great, but are not always handy to use. i played with an extremely loud band last night for three hours, and my ears were fresh afterwards. these attenuate enough to protect what i have left, while alowing conversation between songs. i heard everything. it was wonderful. i'm confident i could use these in any musical situation. they may ...
