The first time I sat in my Helinox Sunset Chair I realized it was missing a feature that was included with nearly every other camp chair I had previously owned: a cup holder. I love the form factor, minimal size, and exceptionally low weight of the chair; but adding this cup holder is a welcome addition. It is durable, wide enough to accept most bottle and cans (but not all tumblers), and keeps my refreshing drink away from my feet (or others who may be passing by) thereby preventing the all to common spill.

The design is very securely mounted. No movement, flopping, or dumping contents as with some chairs’ cloth can holders. Most water bottles, tumblers and mugs will fit. Wide insulated mugs and stemless wine tumblers may not fit, and it’s not tall enough to stabilize stemware. Helinox makes nice little side tables for the latter beverage choice. ;-)

Helinox claims this cup holder fits most of their chair models, but if you have a Chair One, it will not fit properly. There is a considerable gap between the diameter of the holder and the pole that allows for the cup holder to move around and come detached from the chair. I'm sure it works great on any other model, but if you own a Chair One, I would avoid this accessory.

It’s a great cup holder if it fits the chair but unfortunately the cup holder does not fit the swivel chair. The description states it does not fit the chair one XL but does not mention that it is not compatible with any other chairs. I called customer service and the rep said he would note this and pass it on but did not offer up any resolution for me. This is upsetting considering I recently placed a large order for their products on the site. The personal shade does not fit the swivel chair either even though their user guide states it fits. Just be aware that helinox needs to update their site so people aren’t wasting their time or money. I purchased all of my items from helinox directly so I am not sure why my reviews aren’t verified.
I bought 2 of these but this product doesn't work on my BCF 'A' frame lounge camp chairs. These chairs didn't come with a standard built-in cup holder (f/nose why). I broke both of these cup holders trying to come up with a solution to make them fit my chairs, but to no avail. In any case the diameter is too small for typical camp cups or camp coffee mugs (those with handles) as there is no side slit for the handle to protrude. Would likely be OK for 'X' frame camp chairs but be wary of the small diameter cup hole. They're in the bin.
Looks very sturdy. Was expecting a simple clip on design that could be fitted to either side of my Sunset chair but the design is such that it only fits on the right hand side since it fits by sliding the front chair leg through the front ‘leg’ and it retains in position once the rear part of the moulding rests on the rear leg. Since the chair legs are not both angled the same, you can only fit it on the right hand side for it to remain level. It means it’s more secure once fitted than a simple clip on design but it can’t be removed unless you dismantle the chair leg and remove the seat fabric to slide it off. Not a big problem though - just unexpected
So I have both this, and an earlier version (fabric) of a clip on cup holder. This is a significant improvement. It comes at the penalty of weight and some size for packing, but the increased stability and functionality is really quite notable. This isn't cheap, and honestly should be less than it is, but Helinox is always expensive and it really improves the functionality of the chair so for me it is worth it.
I have had my Helinox Chair One for almost two years. I love my chair but have always been frustrated that it doesn't have a cup holder. Finally I found this one. Joy! The small detail is remembering to put it on the frame before putting on the chair cover itself. I am not sure if it supposed to have two settings, one for a short cup and one for a taller one, but I can't seem to keep the holder at the shorter size. Not a big deal but I did waste a bit of time trying to figure it out.Overall I love my new cup holder.
This cup holder is light and fits my camping mug. If you are taking a chair Zero camping, this is worth while having around so you can relax without reaching down. It’s great not to have to put my camping mug on the ground. On the downside, it sits a little close to the chair which might be awkward for some. As far as Helinox accessories go, the stability mat improves the chair experience more than this, but this cup holder is worth while after that.
Helinox chairs are expensive enough, but are without the "comfort" extras most other camp chairs boast.The add on extra of the cup holder is almost a no brainer, if you have already forked out for a Helinox chair.The good thing is they fit all Helinox chair models, so I can use it with both my Chair Zero and Sunset Chair.It concertinas down to pack up small and despite this, is large enough to fit a wide drink bottle and my camp mug or glass. It also is deep enough to securely hold a wine glass, so an excellent and practical design.You will not regret this addition to any Helinox chair!
