Picked up this chair and took all of a minute to realize this would not be comfortable for me. Pressure points on the legs at the seats edge and it squeezed my hips together. The headrest is hard even stuffing the bag in the loop. I guess you could put a pillow or towel in there as it appears to be designed for it. But I'm not looking for that kinda of chair and that only remedies the least issue I had with it. I also felt it was reclined a bit too much which made the lower seat section awkward as you need to slouch a bit to lay back. I will say build and material is impressive, stitching is solid, chair is solid, easy to get out out of, just not a comfy fit for me. I accept it's personal and not on Helinox. My search continues. My advice, sit before you commit.

I purchased my first Sunset chair from REI with member award funds, and was so pleased that I ordered a second one to match directly from Helinox.Getting up out of low camp seats had become a tad challenging, but I didn’t want to take on the weight or bulk of typical car camping/tailgating chairs. Added this chair to our Helinox collection after falling in love with the Chair Zero for day hikes. The Beach Chair is easy to assemble. Low enough that you can stick your legs straight out. Legs do not sink too far into the sand similar to similar chairs with straight legs. My only complaint is that the black polyester material easily marks up with sunscreen. Since this is the "Beach Chair" I would prefer the mesh seat-back was standard-issue and not so darn expensive as a separate purchase.

This is a nice chair. It is heavier than the other Helinox chairs in the line but it is much more comfortable to be higher of the ground. However, I have to return it. It takes brute strength to pull the canvas over the fourth and final point of attachment. I cannot assemble it. In the store, I was unable to do it. A strong salesperson (big guy) in the store had to pull very hard to get the fourth and final corner attached for me. He encouraged me to take it home and give it a try so I did. It is a no go. I have been working on it for the last 20 minutes. Of course, they want it to be taunt so the chair is supportive. But honestly, even a strong guy had a difficult time pulling the thick, canvas fabric very taunt so it fits into/over the final point of attachment. ... MoreThis is a nice chair. I tried a Sunset Chair at Nantahala Outdoor Center in Gatlinburg and it was great. So instead of going for the gold I researched and purchased some Amazon chairs that resemble the chair I wanted. In my opinion the comfort, quality, and safety do not compare to Helinox. So after being cheap, and wasting more hard earned money on dangerous uncomfortable chairs than I would have spent if I had just bought the Helinox, I picked up two from their website. Quality like Helinox is nearly extinct these days as manufacturers turn to disposable products to keep you buying and thats not a corner that should be cut in this industry and Helinox certainly hasn't cut any corners. Ordering was easy and when I called to verify my order their customer service is second to none.

I use an old pillow slip to protect the table from my feet and it fits perfectly.I also have the add on cup holder, which is wide and deep enough to accommodate wide water bottles, mugs and wine glasses, with ease. Such a shame Helinox does not at least include the cup holder and carry strap with the Sunset Chair, as it is an expensive enough outlay to begin with, to not include these features, that automatically come with most other chairs!
Excellent product. The chair frame practically assembles itself. The fabric goes on with no struggle. Sitting in the chair is comfortable and low to the ground, which is great for burying toes in the sand and for shorter people. This chair is not going to be ideal for any one that has a hard time bending or getting up as it is low. The feet are stable on lots of surfaces and it is super easy to move around due to its lightweight. Plus the carrying bag makes packing it very convenient for many scenarios from traveling with a suitcase to cruising around the island on a bike with a basket.
Really comfortable and easy to use. We will have to find, or make, a head pillow for it. The chair has a nice flap for using one, but the insert you offer is far too expensive for so simple an addition.We will also find a crossover shoulder strap that will work to carry one or both chairs like a back pack.Height is good, though the front edge does press into hamstrings a bit. A footrest would solve that totally.Not really complaining! Overall, very well done!
I had actually ordered the same model, but in the sunset chair. I realized upon opening this one that it’s the beach chair, but I actually really like how low it is. It would be nice so that I can place my drink on the ground next to me since it doesn't have cup holders or arm rests like the Savanah chair does.I thought it would be hard to get up from this height as it’s quite low, but it’s actually quite easy to get up from this chair. I also like stretching my feet and resting them on the ground with this one.I like how the legs have those flat things to keep it from potentially sinking into the sand, though I have not tested it for that.Is is more than double the original chair zero size, seems quite bulky but good for car camping, park or festival.
