The cut and fit is very flattering. It's a little thicker than I anticipated and I wish it had pit zips for venting. Probably a little too warm for summer rains but lined with mesh so it shouldn't stick to your skin. The outside chest pocket is too small to hold my phone so I use an inside pocket for it. Also feel a little like a walking advertisement for Helly Hansen. So not perfect for me, but looks good and does its job.

Great all round jacket good weight on its own or with and extra layer for added warmth. I am usually a AU12 but I got a LG to accomodate the extra layer, we live in a cold area of Australia, where I am outside a lot looking after horses. Fabric allows me to wipe off mud from horses rugs. I would get a smaller size if I was riding in the Jacket for a snugger fit. I use this as a yard and walking dog jacket. Cut well, sits nicely on the shoulders and doesn't constrict movement.

August 9th, 2015Outer Island race in Chester Nova Scotia, approximately a 5 hour race, raining with a constant down pour , mostly light winds with a temperature of plus 16-17., speed 7+- knots. Crewing on a 36ft C&C named Bazinga out of the Nova Scotia Royal Yacht Club.I wore the midlayer with only a t-shirt underneath for five hours under constant rainfall with only a few quick breaks down below. I noticed most crew were changing often with wet shirts underneath other well known brand jackets, I checked to see if I was wet underneath several times and to the very end of the race the rain did not penetrate this jacket , nor did water run down my neck and most of all I did not feel the wind or have chills. The outside of the jacket retained wetness but again it did not penetrate the inner layer, my only suggestion would to be make the pockets on the front of the jacket as waterproof as the inside jacket pocket. Weâll all other rain jackets are ruined for me now because this one is superior to anything Iâve ever tried on. It keeps you dry, you never get that feeling that youâre wearing a crunchy hot plastic bag like other raincoats do. You wonât overheat. The good stays on your head AND tucks away in 2 seconds when not needed. Iâve put it to the test in insane rainfall and itâs really a quality product. Dries quickly, fit is cute. Iâm 5â4â 125lbs and bought a small. 10/10 recommend.
Really good quality jacket with warm pockets. It is wind proof and protects well from rain. Whatâs amazing about it is that itâs also breathable so I feel I that I can control my body temperature without feeling too hot or too cold.Really enjoy the nice fit that tapers around the waistline but also comfortable around the hip area.Love the colour! I can only judge this jacket based on fit. I was a little confused when looking at the sizing - a lot of xxxxxxxxx available! I am 5'11 and curvy - typically wear a 2X in jackets. I contacted HH prior to ordering to determine best guess at a fit. I ordered three of these jackets to try them out (this is my first HH product), but sadly none worked. I found the jacket fit small and had to size up several sizes. The 3X was very snug I could do it up but no hope of fitting anything beneath it. The 4X was also quite snug but seemingly not much different than the 3. The 5X on the other hand, was a huge jump in spaciousness. This one fit well around the torso - albeit a little too loose - but was several inches too short for me. It felt a bit like a crop jacket. The Helly Hanson Crew Jacket is definitely weatherproof and sports a great fit! The jacket is made top quality and keeps the wearer safe from rain, water, wind and snow. Pair it with a wool base layer and it will be all you need to keep snug as a bug in cooler temps down to the 40âs. Love this jacket. Tip: if you are endowed in the chest, size up.
Great jacket though I've yet to test it in wet weather. I would say it runs slightly small. It fits and I can move my arms etc. with a t-shirt on but I think it would be snug if I had on a sweatshirt. I appreciate all of the pockets. The hood when rolled up is a little stiff but not a deal breaker
