I first tried this gin at the recommendation of a friend after I told him that I didn’t really like gin. Apparently not having tried this one was a cardinal sin to gin-drinkers…so I gave it a taste completely on its own. To my absolute surprise I LOVED IT. Nowadays, if I see any bar has Hendricks, I will gladly pay any up charge to replace this gin in any of their menu cocktails. It’s the most floral tasting gin I’ve ever had, but it doesn’t have that typical rose water perfume taste. This has a lovely taste of rose, cucumber, and even elderflower. It’s more like getting all those authentic tasting ingredients from a tea than drinking an infused alcohol. It mixes well with almost anything and is now a staple in my house.

Notes of soaked rose petal, lime, Persian cucumbers, Earl Grey Tea and a surprising bitterness. A dull warmth of the spirit emanates quietly from the back of the palate. Very interesting.

Gin was always a little too aggressive and juniper forward for me but Hendrick’s has changed the game. The juniper though still present takes more of a back seat and the cucumber and florals shine here instead. Nice on the rocks, better in a cocktail. If you’re like me and you’ve sworn off gin forever maybe give it one more try with Hendrick’s this time.

The bottle looks fancy but is more fragile than a piece of single-ply toilet paper that has been soaking in water. I grabbed my bottle, made the mistake of lifting straight up instead of up and out. Well the cap bumped the top of my very short shelf and the bottle fell all of 1cm. It then proceeded to EXPLODE. This thing didn't just crack or shatter, half of the bottle is missing. Pieces went across the room. Honestly, it is a miracle that this liquor survives shipping in such a poor container. I am surprised that it does not simply implode if you look at it wrong. I legit have a bottle of Russian Standard that I have accidentally yeeted across the room because it was under my desk and I spun my chair fast. Not a scratch. I saw Hendricks Neptunia advertised to be used in a drink outside of Boston and was immediately intrigued and had to try it as Hendricks has become my favorite Gin. It did not disappoint. Love the refreshing cucumber taste. I then bought a bottle at my local store to share with my Gin loving friends.
I LOVE Hendrick's. I try other gins, just to keep my testing and learning but Hendrick's is my baseline, foundational, "go to," gin. I love all of the different iterations with the classic being my favorite...BUT...having said that...I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Orbium. I bought it after seeing it on the shelf and never having heard of it before and WOW WOW WOW it is amazing. I'm looking to get several bottles so I can give it as gifts to my Hendrick's Gin pals. I am enthralled by it. It is awesome. Thank you for creating Orbium.
I provided Hendrick’s Gin for my daughter’s wedding recently as it was a favorite of the groom. I had some mixed with 7up as that is what I prefer over mineral water or tonic. It was delicious! I was very impressed with thin over my usual gin choice. I had several drinks with Hendrick’s Gin and now I’ll be stocking Hendrick’s in my personal bar at home. Try it! You’ll be hooked!
So after a night of drinking, My friends and I stumbled into a high end steakhouse and sidled up to the bar. There I was served the BEST dirty Martini I’ve ever had. I’ve been chasing that high ever since. I have tried every combo and recipe for a dirty martini imaginable, which led me to Hendricks. Alas, it wasn’t the missing link in my Dirty Martini search, but it has given me my new favorite drink on the planet. The Gin & Tonic. I’d always avoided Gin. Worried that the juniper would give me PTSD laden flash backs to my middle school days slathering myself in Juniper Breeze from Bath & Body works. But I’m so happy that my spur of the moment decision to pick up that CVS tonic water to attempt to make use of the attractive paper weight that was the Hendricks gin ... MoreSo after a night of drinking, My friends and I stumbled into a high end steakhouse and sidled up to the bar. And now through research I can advise you. 3/1 Fever Tree tonic water to Hendricks with two limes. Do it and you’re welcome
I purchased a bottle of Midsummer Solstice about a year ago for my spouse. She enjoys G&Ts, I knew Hendrick's always makes excellent products, and I was intrigued by the purple bottle and its description. What a fortunate gamble! We were floored by the exquisite floral glory that was hidden therein! We are fortunate to be able to afford whatever spirits we like, but it is difficult for me to even imagine a gin more delicious and delicate than Midsummer Solstice. It is far superior to gins that I've paid twice as much or more for. The label says "Limited Release", and my spouse has made me return to buy another bottle, fearing that it might not be available at some point in the future.Midsummer Solstice has actually reduced the array of spirits I keep on hand, ... MoreI purchased a bottle of Midsummer Solstice about a year ago for my spouse. The label says "Limited Release", and my spouse has made me return to buy another bottle, fearing that it might not be available at some point in the future.Midsummer Solstice has actually reduced the array of spirits I keep on hand, limiting the variety of cocktails I can mix, simply because a Solstice G&T is *so much better* than so many other drinks that I can no longer be bothered with them. They don't hold a candle to this fine spirit.I have also gifted this gin to several family and friends, and everyone who has tasted it has said the same thing - it is the most lovely gin ever. The team at Hendrick's responsible for creating this libation should be sainted, and the recipe ought to be carved into a block of granite and preserved for the ages. It's that good.Thank you, Hendricks! Great product.
I could drink this stuff straight, but it's so perfect as a cocktail, that I always mix it. I'm a little disappointed that it's a limited release, but I'm happy that it was made at all.The cocktail? The mixer is equal parts hibiscus tea, passionfruit juice, and tropical punch. I use one shot of Hendrick's Midsummer Solstice gin, a little ice, 1-2 oz either Perrier or San Pellegrino, and I fill the rest of a tall glass with mixer. Not necessarily in that order.I apologize for not having a photo of a full glass. I started drinking it before I stopped to get a photo. And if you guys at Hendrick's see this, as long as you keep making this stuff, I'll keep buying it. Thanks for your fine crafstmanship.PS - I'm not going to stop using an ad blocker, so please stop ... MoreI could drink this stuff straight, but it's so perfect as a cocktail, that I always mix it. Hendrick's Gin Hendrick's is the marriage of two different spirits from two rare and unusual stills. The harmonious combination of the Bennett and Carter-Head stills are unusually soft like no other, and it is this blend that gives the requisite character and balance of subtle flavours. Based at our "Gin Palace" in Girvan (South-west Scotland), Ms Lesley Gracie is our Master Distiller — and the inventor of Hendrick’s Gin. Part alchemical genius, part liquid poet and part scientist — Ms Gracie is one of the world’s greatest gin innovators. It is the genius of Ms Gracie that created the unique flavour which comes from using rose and cucumber along with 11 other botanicals. Obviously this includes juniper, but also coriander, orange, lemon, angelic, orris, blackberries, caraway, chamomile, elderflower and yarrow berries. All these botanicals give their own specific taste and aromas to the gin, making it exquisitely balanced, wonderfully complex, but also simply delicious! Read more about Hendrick's Perfect Serve Enjoy as a gin and tonic, with either Fentimans Premium Indian Tonic water, or for something slight sweeter and more floral, try with Fever-Tree Elderflower tonic. In both options, use plentiful ice, and three thin slices of cucumber to help bring our the unique tastes found within this gin.
