I carried this sucker to class every day from senior year of high school to senior year of college. That's five years of wear and tear, countless textbooks, a daily laptop, buttons pinned and unpinned from the fabric, being tossed to the floor, hung on doorknobs, taken on plane trips, bus rides and more. This backpack withstood everything I put it through. I only recently decided to retire it because the leather was starting to flake off, but I could've easily gotten another year out of it. It easily fits a 15" laptop, a book or two, pencil pouch, planner, your keys and a wallet, all without feeling incredibly bulky. The straps are durable and lightweight. I recently bought a new backpack, but I'll be returning it for another Herschel. I bought this about 3 months ago and have been using it on a daily basis. The style of the bag is great, it certainly stands out. However, the quality of the zippers is what makes me disappointed as it becomes very fragile and fails to zip the housing of the bag together properly. After several attempts to fix the zipper and its housing, they both eventually broke off due to the bad quality of the zipper itself. I recommend buying this bag if you have extreme patience and is willing to go beyond and take extreme care of it, otherwise you might as well stick to cheaper bags that have better quality zippers.

I bought this bag and loved the way it looked and felt. It was almost perfect. But after just a few uses the bottom pleather started decaying. I was careful with the bag making sure it wasn't dragged around. I don't understand how a company with such a good reputation can sell bags with this poor quality. I am very disappointed and upset I wasted my money.
