I purchased 3 of these in April 2023 and have been on three international trips with them. Two out of 3 did not survive the last trip, one that went from LAX to Seoul to Taiwan and back. We picked them up at LAX off the luggage carousel and major cracks were on 2 of the luggages. Upon contact with Herschel, they dismissed it as airline damage and says their warranty will not cover it and it's the airlines fault. Therefore I share this as a warning that these luggages will NOT be able to handle the stress of normal international airline check-in and handling, and in less than 2 years and 3 trips, I have to discard them. And it's not because I am rough with my luggage as I also have a Briggs and Riley that has lasted me 22+ years. Recently picked up a full sized piece and a large carry-on for my wife to take on a work trip to Germany. First of all - the taller and thinner shape of the full size piece made it feel way way more stable standing up and also made interior organization sooooo much better. If youāre like me and you do the Marie Kondo shirt fold, the dimensions are freaking perfect. I was a bit apprehensive of the shape but itās honestly way better than the traditional wide and shallow pieces Iāve had before. The actual quality is nuts as well. Nice zippers, nicely branded handles and really really nice wheels. This new line of hardshell luggage is such an upgrade from the look and feel of the exterior to the design and usability of the interior. I love the additional two pockets attached to the zipper-side of the suitcase. They were so handy for separating socks and underwear and made it very easy to access. I also noticed that the Heritage Hardshell had very minor exterior scuffing after picking it up from baggage claim;compared to the Trade Luggage;which was quite damaged from the same amount of trips. When I reached out to their customer service I was told that it didn't fall within their warranty because it had happened in air travel and so therefore was the airlines fault. Usually I would agree but as it was the first time I ever used it, and the wheel fully fell off, to me that doesn't seem like excessive force, rather it was a faulty product. They've continued to push back on it being a defect of the product and said their products are rigorously tested and that it's hard to account for the force of a baggage handler. One of the back wheels broke off on my first trip. Now I'm going to have to annoyingly haul this to the airport with a missing wheel for my trip home in a few days. For as expensive as this was, this should have not been an issue. I bought another checked luggage for my mom from Target for our trip and we both used our new luggage for the first time. Not only did her cheaper priced luggage arrive to our final destination with all wheels intact, but her luggage overall has like two marks while mine looks like it was dragged on the tarmac. I reached out to Herschel inquiring a refund but have yet to hear back. If you're on the fence about this like I was, I'd say save your money and go with a different brand.
