Unbeatable breath ability and moisture protection. Spent 61 days in my boot last year, 50 of the patrolling. Never owned a better glove! Bought a pair of the same model in the mitten finger combo for really cold days. You can not do better!

Worth every penny, I upgraded this year and couldn't be happier. These "Claw" gloves are warm, a perfect fit, love the way they operate and they are basically waterproof. My first pair lasted 4 years, these may go longer..

I just love these gloves

Built like tanks, super comfortable and, through some form of magic, never too hot or cold!Had a pair of the none Gore-Tex model for over 10 years. They’re still fully functional and II’m keeping them as a backup.Highly recommend!

Nice glove when dry
19 December 2020

I went for the Gore-tex version of this glove thinking the extra waterproofing would help. However, it actually makes the glove worse for one very important reason. No detachable liner. The normal Heli version of this glove has a detachable liner which achieves two things; it can be removed to be easily dried AND for the price of the Gore-tex version you can buy an extra liner to keep warm & easily swap out on the slopes. The Gore-tex version effectively seals in any moisture that gets inside the glove and it's very difficult to thoroughly dry it out. This makes it a pain to use on back-to-back days and likely to get wet & cold on longer days.I swapped this for the Heli 3-finger glove & an extra liner, which is warmer, nearly as waterproof when properly waxed, ... MoreI went for the Gore-tex version of this glove thinking the extra waterproofing would help. I highly recommend buying the normal Heli version of your choice instead (mitt, 3-finger, glove) and an extra liner that you keep stashed near your base layers for warmth.

Technically efficient
6 May 2020

These gloves are worth the money. They are the most waterproof gloves I have yet to use. I would say they are perfect for most the Quebec winter cold and very versatile. On the coldest days, I would use a mittens or a smaller merino glove to put inside because below -10 Celcius my hands would start freezing when going up the ski slopes. If this is the kind of use you are looking for, highly recommend this product. Great quality and feels like it will last for many years to come.

Truly Suprised
25 February 2022

First time using these gloves on my bike commute, between 25-28 degrees F (no wind, sunny) I was truly shocked that 10 minutes into the ride my index fingers and thumbs were numb. I ignored other reviewers claiming similar problems. With my old swix gore-tex mittens this would never happen at these temperatures. No doubt that Hestra makes fine crafted gloves, but if you are looking for warmth I would look elsewhere or perhaps try a layering system. Obviously I have not put these through the wringer, grateful that backcountry will exchange for another solution. Similar to others, at this price point, I cannot justify having cold fingers on a 27 degree day after 10-15 minutes of exposure.

WARM!
9 January 2022

I had to patrol last Friday morning at a resort in northern Michigan, and it was -7 degrees Fahrenheit when we began opening duties! The high that day only reached the mid teens. Needless to say, after a full 12 hour shift with 2 breaks, my hands stayed toasty warm in these gloves! I have never owned gloves this warm, and with the index finger separate, it still has good dexterity.

Warm Gloves!
6 December 2022

I own two other Hestra products, and they are all excellent. I wanted a warm, waterproof glove for my long winter walks, and these are great. I am still waiting to see how they perform in extreme cold weather, but I have no doubt they will be warm. I used Hestra's measurement guide and it showed that I was a size 9. I went with the 10 for a slightly bigger fit, in case I decide to add a thin liner for the extreme cold days. Got these during a black Friday sale, at an excellent price. Altitude has great prices and fast delivery, as always!

Warm and Comfortable
10 January 2023

These are great gloves for skiing, perfect for keeping out snow and the cold. I don’t recall having issues with cold in the 3 years that i’ve skied with them but I don’t run cold to begin with. The extra finger gives you so much more control than a normal mitten. Would recommend this glove for skiing and anything outside.

Worthy
26 January 2023

Right out of the box, not impressed. I typically wear size xl. size 10 was the right fit. Thought I probably spent to much. I applied the provided waterproofing to the leather. Five days later the gloves were tested. All day snowstorm in Michigan, average 25 deg. F. Total of six hours outside, 2 hour intervals doing snow removal. Fell in love with fit and comfort. No longer in doubt, money well spent.Rob
