Received the knife yesterday. Out of the box the fit and finish were beautiful. The knife was also razor sharp. Made my wife and I the chicken from this video recipe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjrwVQyKKrk&t=77s The knife went through the chicken breast like it was soft butter. This was my second purchase from Hexclad (the other being a 12" pan). Very happy with both.

I am a really good chef, and I have really good cookware i.e. made in and Henkel knives. But I recently got a few of the Damascus knives from hex clad and they are the best. I love them so if you can buy it and use it.

This is the best knife that I have owned. My other knives are name brand German knives and a high end American brand. This is the first Damascus steel knife that I have used. It is much sharper than the other knives, and feels more like a razor blade, slicing through onions and peppers with no initial resistance. As a result it is easy to make much thinner cuts. It is a pleasure to use.

This knife has only been used twice since receiving it a couple of days ago, but the quality was noted immediately. It is a beautiful knife aesthetically, it fits very comfortably in my hand (and I am a petite and older person, worried that it was going to be too much knife for me), and has an unbelievable blade that cuts so smoothly. It even far exceeds the quality of a couple of Japanese knives that I ordered quite a few years ago and thought were the best quality knives available on the market. If you're looking for a top-of-the-line cooking knife, this is it. I will definitely keep an eye out for a paring knife from this same line (hint, hint -- maybe this size single knife could be offered someday), as I would buy it immediately.

Beautiful knife! This is a Christmas gift so will come back to add a second review when actually used for it’s purpose but based off of the aesthetics and material, it looks to be a high quality knife!
