HiBy R4 Digital Audio Player, Silver (White) by Addicted To Audio

Editorial Review of the R4 MP3 & MP4 Player** The R4 MP3 and MP4 player has garnered a range of customer reactions, reflecting a blend of strong functionality and notable drawbacks. Users generally appreciate its high-quality sound performance, especially with DSD files where the player excels in natural playback, outshining some competitors and even traditional CD formats. Many have noted that it operates well with a variety of headphones, providing ample amplification to drive everything from high-end models like the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro X and Sennheiser HD series to several in-ear monitors, making it a versatile choice for audiophiles. The capability to support large memory expansions (up to 2TB) and the dual 3.5mm and 4.4mm inputs enhance its appeal, making it a well-rounded digital audio player. However, the product isn’t without its criticisms. Users have reported frustrations with compatibility issues when transferring files between devices, citing problems when using SD cards in different players despite identical formats. This issue, compounded by the lack of readily available accessories, has led to a somewhat polarized reception, especially for those who encountered serious defects. Overall, while the R4 delivers on sound quality and features, potential buyers should weigh the audio capabilities against the reported reliability issues.
