The product was as described. However, one of the bags delivered is within 2 months of it's "best used by" date. Food being sold in pet stores are usually a year and a half away from its "best used by" date.

What I like to do with all pellet type foods is to let the pellets (pinch or two) soak in a cup or container of aquarium water for a minute or so than

Indiefur is the best. Reasons:1. Fastest delivery. FedEx delayed it by 2 days cause of weekend but they did ship it the very same day.2. Lowest Genuine price: They have lowest or at par pricing on most products.3. I made request for latest manufacturing product and they delivered.4. Products is genuine as can be checked at gepir.gs1.org5. I'm a loyal Amazon customer as I have tried many others as well and now indiefur.Conclusion: indiefur is amazon of aquarium products. I have some big clown loaches and they love this stuff. It will break up into small pieces but it doesn't really cloud the water. Also, the smell isn't great if you have an open-top wet/dry sump, but it's certainly tolerable.
My convict cichlids do not like this. I have fully grown convict cichilds and they do not go crazy for these. Will not buy again.

I like Hikari Gold sinking pellets in conjunction with Exel floating pellets so that my fish can feed from either the surface or at the bottom. The 3 mm mini pellet is the right size that both of my big and small cichlid can swallow whole. I notice the Hikari Gold mini pellets is slightly larger than the Exel mini pellets, and the brown color makes the pellets stand out from my white substrate. I prefer Gold to Exell for sinking because the green Exel pellets are indistinguishable from the algae stained gravels.
I have this in medium and my smaller fish struggle so bought it in mini. They still fight over it but the smaller ones can swim off with one now. They have coloured up and grown heaps.
Other sinking pellets I have tried float all over the tank. These immediately sink where I want them to.
